The Dream Stream

I transfer the rods energy from slack to a hell bent back cast stroke,
The line straightens, teeth clenched…..I push the casting arc forward.
My delivery is spot on, dead drift fly traveling the same pace as the current,
The trout’s jumping rise brings on a grin and the caddis hatch is on.

I look up stream and catch a glimmer of another heavy hatch of Caddis,
Grandpa’s eyes search for mine and finding them he flashes a toothy smile.
“Having Fun?"He shouts….I nod my head emphatically and give him a thumbs up.
And we keep it going until darkness prevails and the hatch finds sanctuary.

We walk and talk all the way home and I can’t remember a better time.
And now I have the honor of teaching my own son this gift.
Generation after generation it’s our duty to pass down our experience & know-how to the next.
And just before I close my eyes tonight, I recall this quote…

“It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes us fathers and sons”. F. Schiller

Listen
With ears
Of tolerance
See
Through the eyes
Of compassion
Speak
With the language
Of kindness

My heart saw a bed of rose petals in you
It fell upon a bed full of your thorns
My heart waters the ache that you left
It waits for the roses to bloom

Dreaming of this,
Dreaming of that
Does the world even care
where you’re at
Lost somewhere
a dreamer may find
The best part of life,
is in their mind
Dreaming of love
in a faraway land
He dreams of peace,
whenever he can
Snow in the mountains,
makes a nice dream
Watching it fall
or so it would seem
Dreaming of sports,
says the athlete
Just give me a chance,
let me compete
Some dream of money,
fortune and fame
Others dream of God,
that eternal flame
What about the girl
without eyesight
Dreaming of colors,
the world so bright
Then there are those
who dream of greed
They just don’t realize
what they need
A man knows,
he soon must die
Dreaming of better things,
he now wonders why
As God now takes him
to a better place
Entering those gates,
a smile on his face
A man who can’t walk,
does anyone care
Dreaming of life
without that chair
Now I just dream
making you smile
As I write my poems,
all the while
Your dreams can come true,
as you may find
That the best part of life
is in your mind

Laying in the dark.
Thoughts racing down
the hallways of my mind.

Looking for sleep
to end this day.
attempting to escape the noise.

The darkness before my eyes,
gives me pause.
Realizing I am not alone.

But one of the many,
People of the night.

i know i love you
and i know we're
different
i know we're strong
so please just
listen
i know it's hard
it's life
they say
so let's try and
cherish today
i don't like
talks that
expose our flaws
imperfections
is not who we are
we are warmth
we are laughter
we are one
you are my life
i am your moon
you are my sun
having moments just like
day and night
we see rain
we feel thunder
but the rotation
it's just right

insecurities
dreams
hopes
aspirations
will **** us both
if we don't seek affirmation
we've both been
broken
down to the ash
on our knees
we've both given to God
our needs
and turn to each other
to be free
so you go be you
and i'll go and be me
remember in who
they become
it will still be "we"
cast away your doubts
i will bury mine below
i choose to love you forver
and forever you'll know

There are fears
I can't stand for
when there are reasons
to get out from under them

We cast stones
and hide the hand
for there are chances
To find we're doing too well

Lying to ourselves
wanting it all here and now
complaining about frustration
but so afraid of existencially change

Scared of the truth
we don't want to know,
carrying our heavy brains along
that feel so full and despoiled the same

So high and dry
once roots pull us deeper
we're too fooled and stuck
But eyes start whining shouting out loud

We pretend to care
of our mistreated spirit
but it's left alone fixing us
spilling visions of good things

bigger and closer than they really were
somehow kept in mind by heart
because being made of love
we're meant to see and feel
and be who we really are.
We do things in life that make us who we are, that's why we change, but please keep in touch with your true self which grows up with you, getting older and wiser as you do. Be true, search for the truth, give truth, don't act like you think others want you to be, don't do things they want you to do just to be accepted... don't make anybody fool... it's not good for them and for you first of all.
I was so craving for writing a new piece that maybe it is not really good... But inspiration and intentions are authentic.

Obsession

Love spins tangled webs
Truth sets free the unwilling
Trapping the blind ones

Psychosis

Voices unwelcome;
Torture rings through delusion-
Comfortably numb.

Helpless

The dark of sky falls
Stars struggle to shine through it
As hope does when lost

Envy

To find a sweet bird
To sing the sweetest soul song
But not to your soul

Depravity

A passion called forth
So clawed in and smothering
The light left her eyes

Apathy

Grim thoughts pull tightly
Red lines flow in a river
The last cut, deepest.

Loss

Petals of thought fall
The wind scatters emotions
To the ends of earth
