Words

We live in a wired and weird world
where meanings of our words
are paper-thin tissue and torn
tarnished and worn by wear and War.

I was seventeen when we first met,
Pushed together by fate.
You kissed me on the cheek,
I felt the weight of your lips for weeks.
At nineteen you serenaded me
With that silly little song,
I still listen to it all the time,
Remembering how our voices sounded intertwined.
Now that you have kissed me
My heart is fully thawed.
I desire you forever mine
If you, my dear, are so inclined.
For you

Folds of conciousness fall open
Wordss dance in strings
None of them match the beauty
Or elegance of you
I cant get the dance to match the music
And for the most part it lays unwritten
Waiting for the tune of the melody
And the fluidity
To match the resonance of your
Etherial frequency.

The Sun Always Rises

and the dark always
gives way to the light.
Remember that,
in turbulent and troubling times.
Like these times
right here and right now that we are immersed in.

We are wading through this sludge with trepidation and angst and with the fever
of revolution.

Do we fight? Retreat to our separate corners?
I say fight.
Be bold.
Be ****** and resolute and be belligerent in thought and word.

Do move forward, kindly, and with the spirit of all that have ever been repressed- with the spirit that breaks the chains of uniformity and oppression.

Fight for freedom.
Fight for love.
Fight for a hopeful future.

Little kids always seem so shy when you first meet them
They tilt their heads down, their small eyes locked unblinkingly on you
I let myself come down to their height, though it's not much of a distance to make up
I see how big the world looks in their eyes
It's sudden the moment they decide to love you
And suddenly they're bursting with energy
Winding up for the high five, showing off their magic wands, hugging you and waving
When you leave and that final soft-cheeked smile
That breaks my heart every time, because one day I know that smile could be as broken as mine
Because that's what you get when you decide to love
You gave me the light of innocence, of happiness
And I hope in that moment when we met,
I gave you the same

In terms of kindness,
Grown ups could learn a thing or two from you

He ducks and dives
All across the sky
He flies
Yes, he flies
And this is a life form
This is a means to an end
And this is the name
The name is "Dealer"

And "Dealer" says
"You got-ta
Sor-ta
Think in cartoons
You know
It makes it easier"
And this is only possible
Because of need

So he bobs and weaves
And gladly deceives
He lies
Yes, he lies
Because, in the end
It's a living
That's all
