When I look at the photograph of you on your wedding day,
I can see all of us stretched out into the future.
As we lay your bones to rest under the earth you enriched,
Where your feet touched,
where you played as a child,
then Walked hand in hand with your soul mate.
Could you have imagined that photograph standing guard?
Proud and watchful over all of us yet to be born.
This family tree spreading it's branches.
New life now and the past yet to come.
Rest in peace you are not forgotten
by us to be.
Remembered in the feet that walk past your image today.
Did you ever imagine who lay ahead
in the smile on your wedding day?

I can't compete with the demons in your head,
Where fools rush in and angels fear to tread.
Thoughts of me don't reach the sacred heart of your bed.
It's like walking a tightrope on silk thread.
What are you scared of ..losing your mind...is that what you dread?
Now is the time to listen to your heart instead of the voices in your head.

No skin on which to place my lips,
No hands to rest upon your hips,
No legs to walk towards me,
No ear to hear your whispers,
No hair to wind around your hands,
No feet with which to step on your toes ,
No mouth to kiss me on the nose,
No waist to wrap your arms around,
No spine to run my fingers down,
No neck for me to rest my face,
No elbows to brush your thighs,
No face to see my smiling eyes.
But what I have are memories in my head,
Of everything you have ever said.

I didn't make it up
I woke up
You made it better
For better or worse
It really happened
You made me count
You made it all better
I did it with your help
We helped ourselves
Please don't stop
Don't make it stop
To me it's clear
You make it clear
You couldn't write this
Or make it up
You know what
We can make it
Is that clear?

One day when the moon is high,
When all the stars are aligned in the sky,
When you don't have to worry or even try,
You will have the chance to come fly.
Till then, dream of me, smile and sigh.
