sometimes we use words and nothing else

a labyrinth

if I were a chirologist

instead I read

the lines
to find out who you are

who am I

the Sun

searing sun
burns the heavens blue
alone
in the silent sky

We paint ourselves with angels' wings
The Sun our halo melting, gleaming
We eat other animals and wear their skins
Shepherd, can you hear them screaming?
One by one, they're heard no more
Destroyed by greed and fear and violence
Let us leave them in peace before
We leave this world at last in silence

I see my own mind from within
it makes me feel so different

but if I look outside myself
I see I'm like everyone else

I know a million little things
the little ways
that make me strange

but everyone has something strange
that's one way
we are all the same

If I went to heaven
I would believe

If there are spirits
What are they made of

To be afraid of?

could I see

another world
planets circle the horizon
jewels in the crown of the Earth

strange dawn
lights the mountains and glaciers

it glows like hope
rebirth

still chasing dragons
far and wide
so I can say
at least I tried

but still I cry
it's not enough
I do not know
how to be loved

they fall for me
I run away
or just run out
of things to say

till something breaks
not sure how much more
I can take

I know it hurts me
and it's strange
but I do not know
how to change

of all the things
to be scared of
why am I so
afraid of love?

in our judgment
and       division
we have written
our own prison
too ashamed
to think at all
our minds are

a sound like rage
like metal rain
the sound of the dragon
breaking her chains

the sky in flames
fire in her eyes
as she flies away

Bright star winking in the night
Radiant bringer of light
Sailing westward past the trees
Almost fast enough to see

Ancient light graces my eyes
And I feel what I have learned
Dizzying to realize

Behold the wish to look upon the self
