She searched for shark teeth
As I picked up sea glass.
That was the fundamental difference between us:
She wanted something dark and deadly
While I longed for light and beauty.
My water was already
filled to the brim
with shadows.

Mystery Girl
First of all
I love you
Second of all
That scares me
I don't think I've ever
Been this in love with someone
In my entire life
And it scares me **** less
Third of all
It hurts like hell
You're so far away
I hate distance
You never know what's happening
On the other side
You never know if you'll meet them
Whether it be weeks from now
Or years from now
There are too many things that could
Possibly go wrong
With such a distance
It's not that I don't love you
That I'm not madly in love with you
Believe me I am
It's that I'm afraid
And I'm not ready for the distance again

My canvas is the same as yours
Just white, solid surface
Made to fill with shapes and patterns
Of varying sizes.

The only difference is that
You use more colors
To paint your truth
And I use more words
To paint mine.

Some of us got lucky
And found what makes us
Work
Some of us still wonder

But life is art
And we paint it with our tongues
And with our eyes and hands.

Don't argue with me anymore
About whose paintings
Are
Better.

I am your admirer from afar,
For you are a shooting star.

I yearn for you, a distant fire
-Forever fore and aft you are.

To Reality, bring me back!
In consequence of the fact

Loving you is in fact, in effect,
My only cause, of  this affect.

Poetic Thoughts
You’ve been so brave and
stitched up all your old wounds, be proud.
It’s time to go back to everything you loved, it’s time to pick up all those hobbies you regret stopping.

Poetic Thoughts
Holidays always hurt, I know. The
bandages on your wounds always seem to fall away this time of year. Let the wounds air, it’ll do those you love good to see how they’ve changed. How you’ve changed.

chimaera
once upon a time,
she alighted
on atlas' shoulder
and softly
told him a story.

as he unfolded
his path going
west, she unfolded
words, tracing the
east, for the sun to rise,

and then she sighed
and he held her, made
her his night sky
- heaviness of light,
folded heart.
