Her heartbeat echoes
Through the corridors
Of my memories.

Her aroma intoxicates
The fragile essence
Of my sobriety

Her words resonate
Through my mind
Over and over

Her faithlessness extinguished
The raging flame
Of my life.

I am defeated.
My soul is decaying
Sometimes we seek another way,
A fresh road we can walk,
A different self to be for once,
A new voice that could talk.

Sometimes we face another dawn,
A shade of nothing new,
A different day in nought but name,
A nightmare ever true.

Sometimes we glimpse another world,
A chance that never came,
A different self that could have been,
A life not spent the same.

Sometimes we crave another day,
A tick of time to spare,
A different moment from the rest,
A secret not to share.

Sometimes we catch another eye,
A star that might have shone,
A different self reflected there,
A fantasy long gone.

Sometimes we cast another spell,
A wish for days ahead,
A different outcome at the end,
A paradise instead.

Sometimes we grasp another dream,
A flame to light the dark,
A different self to live inside,
A flint to light our spark.

Sometimes we find another smile,
A grin for what we hold,
A different outlook on our lot,
A peace as we grow old.
Infinity is limited
Only by our
Imaginations

Unfortunately
Our imaginations are also
Infinitely limited
aren't you
sorry for leaving ?
I've dissolved like salt
because I've become it
I'm fluent now, in being silent

Paced myself over and over
breaths because I have to
naming them after you,
because I forgot what need was

flatline me another time, love
tonight so I can sleep &

these are weekends;
those are mouths meeting.
I'm going to quit calling it love
& call for a favor cause

the wave is wild like the whale
just ask her;
I'm riding all of them on
shoreline shoulders
a continent of rhetorical knuckles
buttoned toward my throat

no mercy in floating through the roof
it was never a boat that saved us
only bones
my moral roots
doing whatever you say
In my daylight
you are the sun-sparkle
on the waters of my soul,
and the most brilliant star
in my mind's night sky.

You begin and end my day
with joy
Somber eyes
Fastened mouth
Broken fingers
As I stare out my bedroom window at the sky-
At an unidentifiable moon that seems to faintly glow behind its shadow.
Unknown to the rest of space,
Unknown to me.
This is a continuation, or the beginning (not middle) of "Ending to a Poem about Existence"
I stand
I see the trees
the sky
and all the things
that make up my environment

between them
and I
is nothing to distract
no knowledge blocks
the path of my experience
no human division

the rose attracts me
as it does the bee
its colour
shape
and smell

and when I touch its petals
soft and smooth
its shine as well

a thrill of joy runs through me
that touches every sense
I live
I love
I'm free
