For may I fear
I sit in an empty room
A Monteverde Cloud to seek
Yet I remain still
Still I am
Till all time passes
Too frail to lift my spear
No extravagance I have
My clothing is sheep’s wool
I adorn my hands
With dark black gloves
Unscathed is the ground I walk
Silent the things I touch
An ocean before me
Yet never do I drink
My light barely burning
I starve it’s soul
I rip it’s roots
As in a fairytale long ago
Hear me not
See me not
For I fear
Forever I fear
This I have chosen
Many times before
Quelled is my voice
I remain unmoving
Still as a stone
Till it all fades to none
For I fear
I
Fear
I want to swim in your voice
It’s pillowy velvet
No harmony I could poise
Could ever compeer to
Your gentle spring noise
I want to drink
The air you were breathing
To make that sound
That soothed my hearing
How are you
Such running water
Such easing sunlight
Such mother, father
Wed among many,
Scowl among one.
Trammeling, unbinding…
Ropes frey,
Unraveling,
Until the last strand is cut.
Trivial as sand,
Unions once held.
Thumping, Beating…
Hearts tripped
to run.
Precious is
The last dawn’s beginning.
Renewal, breath…
Hold dear
Blue waters,
Heaven’s closer
Than it is not.
Old ragged woman
‘Fraid and thin
Whispers quietly
A prayer to heaven
As she lies in her sin

Protect my mother
Keep my father strong
May my daughter be obedient
Knowing right from wrong

Her hands clasp gently
Wood worn beneath her knees
A scarper from desires within
A surrender unto peace

Lord, far have I wandered
Mountains I could not climb
The depths of the sea
Fought to swallow me

In her pain a soft voice came
Gently and gleefully
Whispered; I am yours
And with you I shall be
I love you more than the sunset loves the horizon,
More than the fish love the sea,
More than the cold morning loves the sweet songs of birds.
More than the sunlight loves peeking through the leaves of the trees.
If you could count my love,
Give it a number,
A digit,
A quantity:
It'd be every grain of sand on the beaches,
7 fold,
10 fold,
30 fold,
And a million times anew.
I'd run my fingers through your hair,
And kiss your skin,
More than the sun kisses the sky.
I'd love you longer
Than the world could survive.
There are three freckles
On Daddy’s tummy
And Mommy likes kissing them

She says they’re like a constellation
Like spots on a dalmatian
She says Daddy is speckled

Like when he checkled
From her silly little dances
And the songs she thought up

Or the way her nose scrunched
When Daddy got sick
And when he coughed up

To me, Daddy’s freckles
Were just itty bitty features
But to Mommy they were Northern Stars
On her beautiful, beautiful creature
Outright truths
Must hide

A bullet will land in your head
Masses never persist
Towards unadorned statements
Invite their curiosity
Adventurous spirits along

Compel to decode

Truth

Hidden

Between a weave
Of tangled thorny roses
