Sometimes called a
hidden diamond or pearl..
Meaning a recognition
seemingly hidden..of
the identity of each of us
which bears the
fruit of real happiness..

The recognition happens
in any time or place
but the odds are improved
with a gardener's nurturing
or a teacher's mention of
the joy of the return
..whatever it takes..

Facing now toward
the morning sun...

thoughts these are
of fox and hen..
predator and protector..
these are images of
our inner separation
the suffering we endure
as we identify with
these old beliefs..

we suffer as we search
for a restoration which
we know is near..
the fox and hen
wait to be relieved
as the agents of
our long delusion..
which is promised
with the recognition
of a new identity
bathed in grace...

The mind
as thought
is the naming
after  arrival
of an image
of our tree..

walking back
we realize there
is no tree..but a
series of brushstrokes
on the canvas of
our perceiving mind..

quietly and quickly
in an eye's blink
the mind's thought
names a tree
and 'lo.. we speak
of a tree..

Emptiness
is what we are
before daybreak..
before we know
the fracturing
of daylight..

Emptiness
does not depart
with our rising and
work among fractures
as our day unfolds..

Yet our attention
seems to remove
our busy-ness
from that which
is not busy..

A quiet moment
reveals all fragments
have been dancing  
all day long with
what we are
before daybreak...

is a recognition
awaiting each of us..
a recognition
of who we are..

we remember our teachers
on our left and our right
our journeys of searching
in past times..

searching the world for
peace past understanding
that only comes with recognition
of who we truly are..

arriving now.. directly..
effortlessly.. as that which
has always been there
embracing our journey...

are intense beliefs
in the otherness of others
the obvious separations
in life encounters..
loving of enemies
from this point of view
is nigh impossible..
however
recognition of who I am
expands indefinitely the
identity we claimed as ours
and  others..allowing now
a settling in truth: love
as formation of all...

seems to be the
recommended path
for our time..
our time of quantum pace
and of special urgency..

the luxury of time
born of the belief
in the primacy of time
is quickly dissolving
before our eyes..

right here..right now
is the imperative..
pushed by personal and
ecological tragedies we
search for directness..

enter the Direct Path
and a recognition
immediate..of the source
of spiritual and worldly
assumptions..

we are invited to access
right here and now
our revealed identity
lodged in and made of
illuminating peace...

Each of us
experiences the veil
                    the shadow
                    the separation
which hide our real nature..
until our experience
like a tree planted by water
replaces belief in  
seeming opposition..
erasing the division and
exposing  the peace of
our only Reality...

working hard
fishing not catching..
tired and downcast..
yields this morning to
a journey inward

experiencing
deeper waters:
our real identity
beyond old beliefs
at last recognized..

before recognition
we find burdens of
beliefs of separation (sin)
fishing not catching
searching not finding..
experiencing now
the peace and joy  
and the abundance
of our own
deeper waters..

the journey inward
now becomes outward
carrying new identity:
I am every-thing..
journeying forth now
finding deeper waters
in all the world...
Namaste..!

wanting
unease
a sense of lack
contentment on hold
until we find..
once found
separation dissolves
and reveals
that lack we held
was all along
already
fulfilled as an
inner treasure..

however..
apparently..as
the journey repeats
and repeats
the contentment
we need and seek
thru failure and pain
must also fuel
the engine of
creation...

Yes...?

the old ones
cannot hold new wine
causing them
to split and crumble..
the new ones
are fresh models
prodding for recognition
midst the crumbling..

we seek explanations for
revolutionary changes which
surprise and frighten..
religion and science
and politics
struggle to place
new thought and findings
into old wineskins..

and the shocking news
is that each one of us carries
the new wineskin in
our own experience:
recognizing now the
unity and peace
of inside and out..
and more shocking:
this intimate wineskin
never has been old..

we need only understand
that reality consists only of
consciousness and vibrations..
and that the above sentence
is most inaccurate..
vibrations are not separate
from consciousness..
but are within..known by..
and made of consciousness..
vibration is experience
the activity of consciousness
nothing more..nothing less...

it is a
matter of belief
a religious persuasion
that the conversion
was a miracle
unquestioned..
marking a tribe..

might we find
an expression of
this astonishing story
for a more universal
understanding..

to his mother
he was direct:
that his hour had
not yet come..
how we ask is
this related to
the rest of the story..

water
stands forth as our
essence divine..
wine
for all experience
for lives seeming
to be separate..
the Cana conversion
calmly asserts: wine
is made of water..

a new hour
will know suffering
born of fear and desire
a forgetting of Cana..
wine is resurrected
recognized as water
our essence clarified
as a miracle unveils...

we are a mixture
seemingly
of the objects we
know and sense and see
plus that in which these
all reside..
which for most is
the body limited carrying
a mind confined..this
quick capture of
the insistent  
and wary ego..

our civilization
seemingly
stands on the belief framed
in the snapshot above..
except for those open
to non-objective truth..
a recognition which ignites
a consuming  burn of
the belief fomented by
the now scurrying
mixture..

Eureka: A Prose Poem

doors of perception
when cleansed will reveal
our true nature..
this is the sage advice
of a statured voice..

the cleansing
clears away beliefs
which have imprisoned
for so very long..
beliefs of locations
and of timespans
which have locked
the doors of access to
our infinite blue sky..

freedom awaits
as in hasty fashion
we release the hold
of stifling beliefs
and sink into the blue..
then from the viewpoint
of an infinite self
we understand that
the doors were never
closed...

habits are ingrained
and return
after recognition and
understanding of the faulty
claims of separation..which
we have assumed so long..
slipping back to the habits
of belief..the identities
of occupation and religion
and many more..
vigilant we must be 24/7
to return and rest in what
is always True...

suffering
seems unexplainable
and raises the old question:
why the divine allowing..

but hidden
at the source of spiritual ways
is a remedy..
yet the profound simplicity is
such that seekers shy away..

mistaken identity informs:
we believe we are a portion
not the whole..and this alone
seeds our suffering..

the seed disapproves of
how it is right now..and
plans an escape to distract..
such is life lived as portion..

the seed suffers
until it finds the glitch
which impedes the
healing it seeks..

diving into the suffering
reveals our wholeness
and roots out the belief
in life lived as portion..

the story of epiphany
in Christian lore casts the
dilemma of Herod pained
by intense insecurity..

with men from the East
he deceitfully seeks help
in his search to end
unrelenting unease..

he lives in separation
believing peace and ease
must be located somewhere
in his kingdom of places..

this fellow sufferer
like most in our culture
search in geography to
calm throbbing desires..

to find..or not..that the
satisfaction we seek is
available immediately when
we call off our search...

worried
holders of power
use their wile
their walls and wire to
separate and discourage..
we are waiting  
each of us..to
waken as wise..
and to know that
wile and wall and wire
cannot separate
the knowing of grace
which when known
lights another
path home...

Bulletproof

How is it
that we can make an argument
bulletproof..

We might say that if the argument
addresses both sides of a question
and demonstrates affiliation with both
and points out that diminishing one side
diminishes the other..

However..note that when all is said
in accordance with the advice
there remain two sides of what is
perceived as reality..

So..to be truly bulletproof
the argument itself must dissolve
in the silence from which it arose..
Silence speaking alone is bulletproof...

that is where we seem to be
most of us..most of the time..
but in some moments
feel a pull
and approach the inside..
but a fear overtakes
and we wing away..

we retreat to our
place in the matrix
upheld by beliefs
and the appearances
so convincing in our
life on the outside..

if questioning does
not insist..we make
the outside as comfortable
as possible..and live
our lives..soothing as
we are able the outside
desperation..

on a more hopeful note:
we might take a
longer look at an
inside invitation..and
recognize home...

a silly question many will say
an interruption to things of importance..
the chair is the chair..now on to my
daily schedule..uninterrupted please..
however..after much searching to
satisfy desires..pausing with the question
might be finally reconsidered..finding that
an ****** belief in objects can be rattled
with attention to experience..telling of the
frailty of of such belief..
we experience in wholes..not in chairs
claiming their independence..
the chair reconsidered shows up as
perception temporarily..then perceiving..
a walking back to the Reality which
has been quietly waiting for
recognition..
those objects we knew before the question
now appear as they always appeared
but somehow now..satisfying the desires
we had painfully pursued...

is a serious veiling of our true nature
and a sensitive subject when portrayed
within a metaphoric perspective..
truth reveals that depression simply is
the inability to see that we are not
the one we believe we are..we believe our
story..more..we are our story and our
story blankets any new identification..
we can only hope that there is a glimpse
of a blue sky midst the cloud cover
which when approached reveals the
immensity of who we are..and disperses
the temporary cloud of depression...

ego is self we believe we are
and this self wishes for a long life
a life of happiness and recognition..
threats to the ego are encountered warily
and with stealth and flex..
the most serious threat comes with a
denial of existence..a red alert..!
it is then that the ego can assume the form
of that which threatens..
ego as small self expands to large
and claims to a knowing of the unity of all
and for a moment wins us over to
a concept placed on a pedestal..

ego beware...!

Many appearances
in this holiday season
seem as locked doors..

War zones we view
wondering what string
of complexities led to
the soldier standing
in a protective stance..

Homeless people with
cardboard signs
withstand cold wind
stating their ensnarement
and wish to belong..

Immigrants end their
long journeys in
detention..looking
outward to that which
appears free beyond..

Many outward paths
seem impeded by
an ancient lock
guarding a hole
without a key..

We apparently wait
for a single key
filling many holes
with recognized light...

In this season of the year
we hear many expressions
noticing the passage of time..
The year disappeared
and we are unaware how
time seemed to melt
as we send our greetings
for the new year..

Our experience of the frailty
of time may be
an experience of truth..
That time is not more
than a thought or assumption
appearing from time to time.. ( :) )
which in an ancient deception
claims a sequence..making sense
of our voyage from birth to death..

Yet back to our seasonal experience
we  glimpse something seamless
a momentary vanishing of time
which might bring to each of us
the real Joy of the season...

a troubling juxtaposition..?
troubling due to the seeming
strength and longevity
of a scientific model
which..after centuries of success
is exhausted by challenges which lie
beyond and subversive to the model itself..
at the root
the model does not recognize
its limited qualifications to
understand the unlimited reality of
NOW..

the NOW experience removes  
science's bedrocks of time and space  
and presents a fuller reality..
what of evolution's timeline
and the fossil record appearing in space..?
a troubling query
relieved only by a new perspective..
the perspective suggests that NOW is
now the reality..and always has been:
the wholeness truth
colored in a variety of ways
by this science model or that...

considering those
seasonal messages:
words are presented
formed to tell
a long-ago-story of
divine dissatisfaction
with creation's shadows..
a unique birth ensues
purposing correction and
eventual salvation..
belief in this tale
grounded a religion
which has left many
temporarily filled..yet
searching for more..
others step back
and know anew
the possibility of
experiencing their own
joyful presence
through a reminder
by a story..now
filled with grace...

whether we like it or not
thoughts and feelings
arise in each of us..
some are welcomed..others not..
welcomed or not welcomed
our attention..temporarily
fixes our identity..
we seem to become those arisings
of thought and feeling..

until..we notice their brief
appearance on a stage
on which all past thoughts
and feelings..have made their
debut and departure..
but what of that stage..?
the discovery dawns:
we have always been
that empty and full stage
of most simple Allowing...

This is what Reality
really is..
It is not the multiple
appearances  
demanding our attention..

Colorful appearances
assert themselves in
such a persuasive way
that we grant their
exclamations of difference
as the one life we live..

We are deceived..!
we live unaware that
the essence of all
displayed difference
is exactly the Same..

Without the Sameness
(their Essence..that is)
all would never
have appeared
whether  a rose
or bumblebee
Batman
or us...!

A sense of grayness
perhaps of depression
in these holiday days..
times before
we have searched for
restoral
in downtown windows
in company of another
in comforting wine..

This morning we desire
more..more permanence
causeless happiness..
we wish for a bath
washing the hurt..

A warm bath rises
in our awareness..
stepping in to the
immersing water we
find a ******* of
water and warmth..
a body form now
transforms
to water form
shaping our bathing
as only
watery warmth...

The themes are offered:
Hope..Prepare..Joy..Love..
This is the season
for preparation..
Preparation for:
Self recognition
possibly remembering
what has been
recognized..
Recognizing one's Self is
recognizing the Lord
religion or not..
The veiled is unveiled
revealing Joy
which overcomes and
appears as every-thing..
This is the birth of
awakening Love
and the real Reason
for the season:
The Season
