silentwoods
The light fades and the day drains;
Its secrets left untold
And whether the sun will rise again,
Is not by us foretold.

Today has been a gift to you
Despite its aches and sorrows;
Another chance for you to claim
Unlimited tomorrows.

So do what you can, with what you have
And give thanks to the One above.
Give more than you get, and leave more than you take,
And do all these things in love.
What is grief but a love of
Some yesterday that did
Not die a a natural death
That has been for thirty-
Forty-fifty years and more
Out there clear as a bell in
Another you that ne'r has
Departed but wait upon a
Tomorrow that does not
Come- that stays the same
Waiting for its part to play
That never comes...
While all about is not the
Same.  If we only knew the
Sorrows  time would bring
How we would have greeted
Life as the long missed lover
Such a joy would not be lost

Shackles tighten round my wrists
As money leaves my clenching fist.
The light of pity stares at me
Glaring back at Mr. Monopoly

I wanna be wedged in the pages of your books, while you are unvexed in the pages of mine.
The Quill :)))
The truth is
We were too busy
Fighting our own demons
To fight each other's for them.
I don't remember if I've posted this yet.

NOW, WE IS: 60!

A Year 8 child
enquires how old I be?

"I be
just...60!"

He gasps.

"My God...you're very active
for 60!"

60 for him is
a distant planet

in a galaxy far far
from here.

Yea...another
dimension.

I smile my 60 year old smile
perfected by now.

I am starlight
that will only reach him

when he is
60 himself

if he ever
remembers what he has

long ago
forgotten
