Their hits are like top 40 country -
That's just as good as a flood of classic rock on top 40 FM stations.
Hits like they had in Cotton Candy (Hirt),
Last Date (Floyd Cramer)
and, I believe, Alley Cat (Bent Tafrie)
may sound trite and stale to real music outies
and long haves erudite and fascinating,
but nothing like keeping it simple, stupid,
like the infantry motto says -
and avoid all the affected esoterian in cult music circles.

"The trigector" uttered by **** Vita
"Nothing but the foot of the net" when a fighting Illini shot would go swish uttered by Tom Schroeder who would broadcast the old
University of Illinois basketball games
"Lofted by a single" in baseball,
"exploded for yardage" in football,
"Gathering undue boards" about rebounding in basketball,
"The Murderous Row" talking about the old power-hitting New York Yankees of 1972
"Cinderella Teams" or "Underdog Teams" who went far
"The Bronx Bombers" referring to the Yankees again,
the "Baby Bombers" referring to the present power-hitting Yankees of Newcomb's Greg Bird, Gary Sanchez, and, of course, Aaron Judge.
These are just some of my examples of sports slang and clichés I like.

Beauty as in "the Beast"
Charles Sturies Aug 2017
There was a bore
who thought he was cuddly
like Archie Bunker
and Joe as in the movie
as in hwo would have thunk of him,
and head man at
Mel's Diner
who's gonna give
me, with me inferiority complex,
a shiner.
He might first think
he's frank
as in having a real spooky tooth
and not being really uncouth
and this business
that he's a bore
he's at war
there
Why he's OK.
He's the real man
"hard hat" or "redneck"
with the nickname Bear
a typical delusion.
He might think he's a ******
and that
he wants fusion.
Confusion would be what
he would cause if he

He probably would want to gas El Debarge

I'm Wise
Charles Sturies Mar 2018
I remember black guys in junior high
used to say that
and I didn't know exactly what they meant.
I still don't.
But it's an expression that sounds
like it'd make good rhymes.
Here goes.

"I'm wise
not in disguise
I may be shy and a wiseguy
but at least I'm not Captain Blye
Pay the way to the real magic bounty
apparently occasion during the
Vietnam War it seemed implied
by the underlining of the soul article content
in that Bruce Springsteen on the
cover of Time Magazine issue that came out that
seemed to start off the revolution
of the summer of '68
an issue I picked up with the underlying
when I landed on 1st St.
an open psych ward that summer
So one of us is a traitor and the real
Fletcher Christian - that's all the
underlying meant - of all of us
who were into the name.
But it sure wasn't me, I'm not a Navy type
butcher, though big girl there, Army brat
through and through
Yes Sir Captain Blye
I'm arise
and not in disguise
or Louis Nye
and Sigma Chi
and the dunce the Fly
and the desire to move up to the sky
and us guys
who like to get a little high
****, the squares call it,
though to me it's natural
so I won't make any lately
and about thinking I'm one of the guys
Yeah the Mighty High of Joy's song
Captain Blye
a man named SKy
and the fictional Joe Clay called a ****
back at the U of Ketchum
I think was it's name
but that was just implied."

Geet -- the Indian as in India Muslim of 5 years
seems neat
and doesn't expect any jeers
or anybody saying
he has smelly feet.
His hair is not really in arrears
and you can tell by his sense of humor
is nice and complete.
Geet, Geet,
not a cheat,
a credit to Islam,
a credit probably to those who claim Christians,
He's capable of feats
and of course he's not trying to tell
everybody to take their seat
A happy face,
I bet he's not worried about

I imagine I can snow almost any female.
I'm sure I'm emphasizing enough that
I make the whole thing up about my
mindset there.
I think I need certain women more
whose looks in the face appeal
especially to me.
I think I love them especially for
various aspects of their bodies like
the thin width of their arms and legs
I imagine their scent measurements and
the way they speak to be exuded by them
just for a guy like me.
I have to fantasize but I don't want to
go around saying things like I can't get
"No Satisfaction" (a Rolling Stones song) and introducing like "The New Thing" (a Maryn Caye-Tammi Terrell song) just
to call attention to the fact like
there's much more to me than a little
boy in a candy shop of beautiful eco men
you see I'm trying to tone down my mixed
up ness but at the same time
emphasize my reactiveness.

I liked professional wrestling at one time, but mainly because I thought the names Rick Flair and Andre the Giant has a nice ring.

I liked kickboxing when it first came out.
Home plastic, right?!

I just loved Treasure Island when I was reading it as a little boy and like either Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn, whichever was the easy one - at least for me - I think it was Tom Sawyer and I found Huck Finn hard when I started it - too hard for me so I stopped that chore, to me.

I hate to read, but yes, I think it's good mainly for just little old me I think I'm so (as a friend called it) im-po-tent.

I think it's east to like the Yankee in baseball, Brooms Brothers in Ivy League clothing, and Land Lubber and Britannia in jeans.
It is, isn't it?

I like barflys. They're loveable to be with to me and their base baby faces and a certain inseams, fake or not, I think.

I practically say in my writing that I like all underdogs irregardless but I've found at one time or another some Jews to be offensive, some blacks obnoxious, and some Latinos hateful.
That smacks of real hypocrisy, right?
Enough of this.
I'm just spouting off,
I guess.

I like my silliness sometimes

and my utter seriousness
with tongue in cheek sometimes
just to add a little - like I say

Some people can get just the right LPs.

Some people can get just the right CDs.

Some people can pick out the right tea and the right amount and kind of jeans.

Me, I couldn't figure out what to buy if I had to, and I find myself the guy who wants to know what to buy.

Money grows on trees to me so actually that really isn't true, that's why I want to know what to buy.

I throw it away on things I don't need.
But believe in giving someone some money is sorta investing in them like they're ready for show business success or somethin'.

Or sometimes I give people some money just for the hell of it.

I'm incompetent maybe, or a soft-touch, period.

Or else what I think is both philosophical and philanthropic.

(I give to charities as much as I deem fit.)

So pass off money giving point blank as giving to charity point blank.

Some of my money gifts are good cause I bet.

I still don't know what the whole problem is as what some lack of it has to do with any competency or lack thereof, or my financial success or lack thereof.

I do pass off frivolous giving, though as due to fear of being mugged sometimes.

Things have gotten fuzzy to me ever since my breakdown, so I figure it's just wanting to yes, buy almost anything.

Figure that out - of course, you gotta have money to buy, but I think there's some sorta kickback, and that what comes around goes around means.

But I'm also easy come easy go.

Who knows?

But we can never see
the love
OK, I'm Charles Robert Sturies,
Charles Robert Sturies,
the we,
and yeah Oui Magazine
in anyone but me
So you're my special angel,
guardian angel
in a protective, motherly way
and explain that there just
isn't anything
like an instruction per se
it's so the way
Oh say, Never try to obey
1- this poem explains me and my position in relation to a certain female who I think I loved

I like to think
I was born with a sense of humor,
maybe not like the Harvard Junior!
But enough to qualify as a zoomer.
They used to call me here at the VA
because of my loudness, I guess, boomer,
I still feel like a ham
but I get serious now because of the jam
I listen to
and the qualities in me that exist too
like a bit of cynicism,
a bit of skepticism
and even a little bit of a sickie in me, too cool.

McCartney got by with a little help from his friends
I got by with a little help from my little friends
like a broken toothpick
that's come in handy
like for example getting the McDonald's
hamburger meat out
from between my High German
spaced out teeth
or a bent one last cigarette
in a semi-wadded used up soft-pack
of Camel regulars
or that kind of retractor that fir
inside of 45 records
to play an inspirational
song like I Want
You Back by the
Jackson Five was
at the time when I
couldn't find a
friend myself.
McCartney was lucky
with friends.
I had friends too, sure
but I don't think they
know I was down and out
and living on a retiree pay
of $180 a month
and practically supporting 8 black guy
"buddies"
at the same time.
But there always was
a "friend indeed for a friend in need"
so I survived intact
and yes
am still intact

Dudes who think they're cool
studs and *** symbols who are
slimey and adenoid cases
Non-combat vets who they're
combat vets.
Followers who think they're
leaders.
People who have delusions of
grandeur.
There're other people
who are way better.
Some of the shady looking
people in politics today.
People faking eccentricity
because the think it's going to
get 'em a better deal medically
you know,
We say the all-round man
symptoms where guys think they're
a combination of John Wayne and
Jimmy Dean with shades of
Vincent Van Gogh thrown in
Relevent gay people who imagine
their lives to be perfect
Certain plastic TV shows being in
fashion as well as kinda tacky food.
