Rest on golden shores
Taste of salt in pleasure's waves
Seagulls soar and cry

Forgot to post this yesterday, I was more exhausted then I thought.
Still following the trend of Pleiades,  the Seven Sisters.
This haiku is for Alcyone (or Halcyone).
There isn't much about her (and I had to ensure I am writing about the right woman as there are many who share this name and of course, many myths of other Halcyones as well, haha!)
With this lovely lady, she is know to be seduced by Poseidon and bore him many children so yes, this haiku is very much a euphemism!
You know me, I just love playing around with the portrayal of myths!
Anyway, thank you all for growing followers, I'm forever humbled and grateful for the support 🙏🌹💜
Here's the link for the growing collection:

Be back tomorrow with another one!
Much love,
Lyn 💜
Love is not just kisses and beauty
but more by way of responsibility and duty
What I am to you
we are to each other

you are
a Monarch butterfly
being chased

by a barking dog
in a meadow in
late August

I am

that dog

What separates people
is not distance but the mind
   in reaching out to others
   magnanimity one would find
Let them sing
    it's their right
if they are out of tune
    that's not your plight
Potters hands are grey
Clay doesn't know your colour
Only your talent
I have been trying to find something that unifies us all-In the end we are all clay of some kind!
I'd share with you
how much our
early morning
walks have become
sacred coffee meditations

a chance for you
to confide in me
your dreams
pose bizarre scenarios
tell me about kids who
are YouTube famous
& vow you'll
make "mom a millionaire
one day"

I smile
absorbing obscure
WWII trivia
listening to
your laugh's positivity
wanting to just
hold you close
       catching my breath

instead
we silence
our footsteps
staring up at the mystic sky

        an ivory moon
                    tarnished yellow
by the yawn of day

& I want to keep this moment
open, blooming inside my chest

feeling your steps racing
beyond my own, knowing this

wedding cake memory
is but a taste I can only savor

you, the moon, the talk of
future days, such riches
blessing my heart

only quiet tears express
this love

of a mother
  to her teenage son
Is the only craving
i need
take me under
your wings
maybe we can be free
for you a dream
is a dream
but for me
its just us
...
in sweet sweet harmony
