The day he went away
I didn't know what I would do
So I took all the clams
Examined their insides
Then understood
That this is what the world is about

The moment he saw the ending of the story
He knew that the best was yet to come
He didn't realize that when he saw it coming
It hit him like a big truck
He took the rest of his guts
And piled them back inside

The stairs were very difficult to climb
He had nowhere else to go
So he went of to the story
And there he found a series
It was a novela
One that couldn't be forgotten
He took it aside then
Ripped out the pages
He maid sure that it was legible
Because you can't read a book without
Words

The moment I saw my father
He was momentarily stupified
He saw all the interruptions
And he realized that it just wasn't worth it
It was mostly a big wait for nothing
It went by so fast

The best was given to everyone
It was a glorious celebration of whole foods
He loved to send others to the supermarket
Because that way he wouldn't have to get it himself

My brother has milk on his hands
He doesn't like seeing the milk
So he delivers them to the neighbors
Even when they are lactose intolerant

The end of the road is filled with good intentions
Here is my poem
My father was an alcoholic
He drank isopropyl in order to stay clean
He made sure that even when he had bad days
He would make it even better
Then he forgot to wash his hands
So he drank a whole bottle instead
He makes sure that he does this in order to forget
