The piano sings into the night
like a nightingale upon a lonely branch.
Underneath, the lake glistens.
Every streak of soft blue, sailing gently
to touch the moon on the satin water.
Stillness silences.
Stillness, and a bird's cry, the rest of the night.

The bird has died but the feathers wander on.
my scars
do not define
who i am
but define
the reasons why
i am
who i am

to sing my new song
born in fluffy clouds
inspired by  the woods
when I sang it
my kitten purred
when I softly sung
to her
she rubbed against
my leg.

I see the stars
Twinkling in the sky
From the ground i stand on
And
Yes, I see you

But

As i stand
With a compact smile
And the thought
Of you in my mind
I wonder,
Do you look at them
And see me
Just the way I DO ?
*I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night*
