Is it too much
to I cry if I'm glad?
Is it ok
to say when I'm sad?
Cry baby cry
It's just tears in the sky
Cry baby cry
just some sand in your eye.

Where was I when
you were here
Where were you when
I was there
I don't remember
as much as I should
and there must be a reason
or else I would.
Could I remember?
Dismember my mind
in order to find some memory
that i wasn't meant to keep?
I could.
But some dogs are best left asleep.

Magic Carpet,
sail not ever from under me
never go unexpectedly
to where I cannot follow.

They had taken the bait
and now they waited.
The jury was out on lunch
and she chewed her fingernails
to pass time.
He shifted,
loosened his tie and tried
not to look her in the eye.
One ravenous moment
had devoured a life of maybe's
forced to face some mirror
stand trial, be made to wither
Oh! to have known sweet desire
is to have overthrown
any verdict of denial.

What do you need eyes for
if you're not looking?
Why have ears if you don't listen?
How strange to have
a conscience that you don't use?
What use is a tongue if used to abuse?
Sense the surreality of your own dream
and wake up, come to your senses
and look around...

there is a possibility
that this space
between you and I
does not exist and that
we truly are One
that indeed we are
our own ancestors
reaping seeds
that we've already sewn
consequences shape life
and as gods in training
we must learn how to sculpt.

I stretch out my arms,
disengage myself
from a tangle of dreams
and find you, impossible you
watching me from your pillow..
What are you thinking?
Is that you or are those stars
blinking down at me?
