Nemusa
Beneath the weight of infinite skies,

her eyes, two wells of drowning sighs.

A tear, like a wounded star, descends,

tracing the map where sorrow bends,

and love, unspoken, forever ends.
Been up all night and am in no mood for social interaction today.
(a poem in Haiku and Senryu)

Draw a stick figure
future - sadly diminished
and chaos ransomed.

Paint the landscape
with the sweltering glare
of global warming.

Add micro-plastic
and forever chemical
flavorings to taste.

Come share this
with me - let kisses heal and
soft whispers inflame.

Some locks need two keys
to open, some heavens can
be reached by mortals.

A song for this:
All Gone Away by The Style Council
Locks that require two keys are called ‘Dual Custody’ locks. They’re most common for bank deposit boxes.
It's hell out there; you open a pack,
Flip the first one—luck on the line.
The enemy waits, prepared to attack.
Smoke it last, if you’ve survived time.

I’ve been saving mine, the pack intact,
Twenties dwindled, now just one.
The crypt lies bare, fate’s lonely pact,
A single smoke, a superstitious sun.

Like these cigarettes, I too stand alone,
A thousand cuts, each loss its own toll.
We share this space, a makeshift home,
Chasing luck to fill the hole.
~ for Jules
Their hearts beat with ours,
keeping time with wagging tails,
never asking for anything more
than care and love,
then return it tenfold
with a gentle warmth
to mend our broken days.
Dogs teach us to live life fully,
they make our days so much better
just by being our spirited
and faithful friends,
which breaks us so deeply
at the very end.

For my lovely neighbours Chris and Carol.
Their beautiful 14 year old Golden Retriever Jess is sadly deteriorating and the vet is visiting them tomorrow to send Jess over the rainbow bridge.

The hardest part is always saying goodbye.
You were always a good girl Jess and you'll be missed so much. 😢🐕🪽🌈

irinia
monsters unleashed I fear
light might freeze on our faces
and what a rush to be generous
an eden of objects, a living emptiness
all in the name of christmas
merciless the geopolitics of hatred
this is not a poem but sheer rage
when streets explode under our feet
exhausted by words turned into death sentences
She dances through my mind on a song,
Yet defined.
By words, to describe my love for her.

Let me strum another line,
Maybe a verse will come in time,
While she dances.

While she dances,
 and dances,
to my wordless melody.

Her beauty it taunts me,
and her smile it haunts me.

For my words could never flow,
as easily as she-
While she dances.

While she dances just for me,
it now becomes so clear to see.

I need no words, for she-
She,

Is the living lyric in this,
Lovers melody.
