cook rice

add plenty
butter,
salt,
pepper

add cookies and cream
or any ice cream

mix it up
also: potatoes, sriracha, mustard, ranch
it's not that
you claim it

rather it
claims you

it's not the box
on a customs checklist

it's the island
calling you home
so i've been thinking
don't tell anybody
where we're going
and don't worry
about anything
baby that
challenger
deep
will eat
up the tsunamis like
ice cream sandwiches
minds crazy
again confusing

love

for broken bones,
all night we ask

for help, who
comes?  you

sway to bird
and saxaphone

rejoice at
near-miss

rescue

escapee, we
tried to give you

baskets
of reasons

not to love us unconditionally
but you love us unconditionally

so we sleep
in the hand
of the sky

Redshift
this alcohol
has drunk me
so efficiently
i am one of those empty bottles
rolling around the barroom floor
collecting dust
until they come to take me away
clean me up a bit
refill me
only to be
drunk
again
i am that little bottle
that says
drink me
you'll shrink

Annie
I wished for red lights
An excuse to stop and kiss you
But there was only green

And

I took a shower
The hot water was all used up
I stood in the cold

And

I was so hungry
The vending machine had food
But I had no money

And

I woke up in bed
There was no one on your side
I miss you so much

And

I went to a party
Saw you kissing her instead
So I left

And

You finally came back
A smile plastered on your face
But I knew it was fake
A free bird leaps on the back
Of the wind and floats downstream
Till the current ends and dips his wing
In the orange suns rays
And dares to claim the sky.

But a BIRD that stalks down his narrow cage
Can seldom see through his bars of rage
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
Of things unknown but longed for still
And his tune is heard on the distant hill for
The caged bird sings of freedom.

The free bird thinks of another breeze
And the trade winds soft through
The sighing trees
And the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright
Lawn and he names the sky his own.

But a caged BIRD stands on the grave of dreams
His shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
His wings are clipped and his feet are tied
So he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with
A fearful trill of things unknown
But longed for still and his
Tune is heard on the distant hill
For the caged bird sings of freedom.

oh deep
ditches
annals
endless wires
poking
snagging
interest
of the internet,
why must you always ensnare me
i'm trying to write a paper

Long as you are too.
