We were caught on traffic
Heat peeling up the asphalt you began to ask
Boy meets girl
I don't remeber what your name is
Does it matter
At all......
You loved to think that you were saying things that had value
Held weight
But you didn't
Your words slid out of my head
You didn't say much
Or seem to care
That I slept upstairs
With everything I own
Packed into one  room
The whole house quiet
You didn't seem to care that my sheets were blue
Or that the night was early
You were a friend of a friends
Talking about how drunk you were
You kissed me
And for a moment
I felt like we were possible
Like I could take your clothes off
It has been so long since I felt lips
Upon my own
But the taste of *** was unmistakable
And your eyes seemed to double in and out
And you were just so right upon the bed
Pulling your jeans off in one two three
But
It's only new years eve
And we don't really care about each other
Your blond hair perishing out of exhaustion
You deserve better than this you know
Although if tonight
I had felt like I had last moon

I would have ****** your head off
And fallen asleep inside you

A crazy *******
got in my face
the other day.

"This is my shop!,
I put the work in this *******,
see ya'll young people come in here
trying to mess up my shop,
this is MY SHOP!"

"Mmhmm," a fat ****
in the corner affirmed.

Crazy *******
are often your
barbers.

He's pulled this **** before,
I've seen him do it.

He'll just throw the clippers down
and get in somebody's face,
while they flip dumbly through
Sports Illlustrated.

It's funny as hell.

He had spittle
in cakes at the corners of his mouth
that wiggled
like eggs on an unbalanced beam
and fat lips that looked
like rotten peach slivers;
all brown and ugly pink.

He's in his forties and stumpy.
But all he ever does is yell.

I punched him
right in his lips.

His teeth were hard and scratched my knuckles,
but he backstepped,
gave me one of those crazy people
"I might just cut your head off" looks
and walked to the bathroom to clean himself up.

Crazy *******
think
they're the crazier than everybody else.

"She talkin
about quittin me,
she said
'I'm tired of you coming
over here
sweet-talking
just to get in the door,
then
you go upside
my head
once you inside,
no,
not anymore,'
I said,
'baby,
I apologized for all that
before,
why you keep bringing
up
old ****?
You need
to learn how to forgive
and forget.
You know
I don't mean nothin by it,
fuhreal.
But all you ever do
is talk about
what I am
doing wrong
what I have done
to you,
can't we just be cordial
and sip on this thing
I brought over?'"

"So she let me
in
and
we sipped that night."

I picture them glued hotly to each other
on a couch;
a bed;
scrambling
together
drunk out of their minds
on
the ***** tile
in the kitchen;
two plaster figures
stuck together
by
bad chance
and
some fault of fire.

i haven't felt inspired for weeks
i'm afraid i'll scream and embarrass everyone
and myself
i never wanted to be
a human being

this is a letter of warning
against the flooding rivers of my soul
i will wash over you at tea
in the backyard like a bullet
or an airplane

salute me
i don't care how
lend me your dreams
your conscious
your slow deliberate drumbeat heart
lend me your spoke blisters
your attempts at suicide
your mind
in all directions of space
i'm pretty proud of this. i feel like it defines me.

last night
i slept on the ground
under my house
and used a vaccuum cleaner
as a pillow

i was wearing
roller skates
