Being pregnant but I didn’t know

A year ago our lives were turned upside
Global pandemic was announced
Stay at home order was in place
Please stay six feet away
Wash your hands
Cover your cough
Social distance was a must
Only two weeks turned into months
Frantic set in
Grocery stores were a bust
Shelves were bare
Hoarding was in place
Masks must be worn, covering your face
Many lives have been taken away
Families forced to be seen through glass
Don’t hug or kiss me
Our lives changed in a flash
Countless hours for “essential workers”
Who continue to bust our *****
Curbside, takeout, not accepting cash
Dine in at a restaurant, was a thing of the past
Stress and anxiety become sky high
Not being able to say goodbye
Loved ones scared and alone
FaceTime calls or talk on the phone
Words cannot describe
The fear in our eyes
The unknowing of “life”
Endless change of normal times
Disconnected from our daily lives
A year ago our lives were turned upside down

The deeper the scar
The harder the pain
Remember your strong
Crying is also okay

There’s fire in her eyes
Yet the pain sorta subsides
As she tries to get by
Still not understanding why

While I was asleep
You came to me
In my dreams
Kissed me on the cheek
Said “I love you”
As I drifted into deeper sleep

You don’t lose yourself, although you may get lost but don’t fear those you have lost along the way, it makes you stronger when you  stand out knowing you’ll be okay...

Not every time
After a storm
Will a rainbow shine....
Even though you can’t see it
It may still be there
If you look closely
Through the clouds
Color will shine
Sending it’s rays
Down to the ground
If you get lucky
You may see double
Meaning magic will happen
Leaving you less troubled

Walking down a narrow path
Torn and tattered drifting fast
Sunshine melting through the branches
Every step forward, taking chances
Never looking back towards the overgrown grasses

In the shadow of the night, you haunt me in my dreams, that are subliminally a nightmare in the reality of one’s physical awakening, surrounding by the constant reminders of our hidden wounds...

Ignoring the sadness
Covering it with happiness
Doesn’t heal the wounds
That you had no control over
Except the scars that were made
Understanding all the pain
Wont make the wounds go away
But the healing process can begin
Once you face the trauma for your own sake...

The past is in the past for a reason
The present is paving the way
The future is where your heading

For me, writing is a release, where my mind can speak freely, for that reason, I can be me...

Sometimes your emotions get tangled up like a raging lion hunting his prey trying to escape and run away...

The stars aligned with the twinkle of hope, then the clouds rolled in the darkness of the sky, where the stars actually didn’t align....

I may not be exactly where I want to be but where I’m going is where the adventure will await me
