I would stand by you if you had a better attitude.
I would love you if you were less shallow.
I would fight for you if you had a fight of your own.
I would listen to your problems
if I already didn’t hear them all.
What I wont do, is change for you.
I wouldn’t let you go without letting you know why.
And normally I wouldn’t ask you to change but I think you ****.

ache and agony seem friendly now.
I have grown accustomed to them
they are my never ending and constant friend
always speaking up and filling my head with hopes and regrets.
that driver must have been on crack or something because
he didn't understand a thing!
we were so close to that first kiss,
I could see you smile down the street by the park
a dream that died when he took my body
and rolled it in the hot black tar.
that was when I had lips to kiss you.
joy to see you.
now it is horror.
I live in fear away from all that does not understand
or recoils at my unwarranted monstrosities
I was a beauty once, as beautiful as every lover dreams.
now its hidden on the inside
and that kiss, is just another layer to the pain
that has become my one constant friend.
I don't blame you for running.
I wish the old man hadn't run across the street.
I wish he hadn't called anyone.
I would have died happy on my way to our first kiss.
Oh, those perfect lips...
now I pray for the kiss of death,
so I can finally kiss goodbye my one constant friend.
We crossed paths a thousand times
Tunnel vision, never seeing
Focused on just our desires
But, never really seeing

The person that we needed to
Give us purpose, be our one
Was oh so close through out our life
But true vision, we had none

We are two halves of one heart
We are two halves of one whole
We are two halves of one mind
We are two halves of one soul

Different schools, and different treks
So close and yet so far
We lived in the same complex
We drank at the same bar

Same interests, different orbits
The same friends, but still apart
I'd never ever met you
But, I knew I loved you from the start

We are two halves of one heart
We are two halves of one whole
We are two halves of one mind
We are two halves of one soul

You know just what I'm thinking
Just as I the same with you
Just a look, a simple movement
And I know what you will do

We were searching for each other
Though we both knew we would find
The completion of each other
We just had to give it time

brooke
a skyscraper counted down
the red seconds until I woke
up and i stood naked on the
streets of a dream waiting for
my alarm to go off.

Stop acting like you
are happy, I can see
your face when the mask
melts, when you think they
can't, and the far off look
in your eyes tugs
in my gut, a rusty fishhook pulling
me back to the you
no one else can see.

A stab in the chest,
A puncture to the  heart,
I seek internal rest,
Because you tore me apart

This is how I have been living,
This is my pain,
Darling, This is only the beginning,
I am on a high speed train

Not a single tear to shed,
Not a single heart to be broken,
I am better off dead,
This can be your token

You put me through hell,
You had it your way,
I am no longer under your spell,
I no longer have to stay

A stab in the chest,
A puncture of the heart,
I seek internal rest,
Because you tore me apart

A pure inncocent life,
You corrupted with hate,
This is how I will survive,
I guess you can call it fate

I took all the pain I can endeavor,
I put your insults at bay,
My heart is now severed,
I have nothing left to say

Look into my eyes,
Tell me you believe,
Do not speak your lies,
Its time for me to leave

A stab in the chest,
A puncture of the heart,
I seek internal rest,
Because you tore me apart

Solitude

Its time to be left to my own devices
and rewire the circuitry.
Climb to Mt. Un-climbable,
defeat the monster at the top.
I fear only the reaper and respect his wishes
for his claws are scraping at our windows
every time we hit the pillow.
Don’t dive into shallow bodies of waters
and don’t forget to wear your sunscreen.
Bereft by my own unfruitful devices I search for solitude.

I creep through the dank recesses
of my stewing mind.
I search for meaning
to my ceaseless activities.
I grow closer to myself
and I learn to respectfully listen.
I creep, I search, I grow, I learn
and I am my own companion;
Only I will be there for the rest of my battlefield life.

I said I’d never write about you again,
but I suppose I’m just as good at lying
as I am at leaving.
I’ve forgotten what your voice sounds like.
I always criticized you for not letting go,
as if the weights around my ankles
weren’t made of my faults
and everything I wish I could take back.
You told me today that
you’ve found love again.
I hope he finds flowers growing
from all the cracks I created
in your heart.
I hope he sees galaxies
in the darkened voids
I left behind your eyes.
I hope he understands
that you are full of splintered doors
on rusted hinges
that need to be loved and not repaired.
I hope he is nothing like me.
I’m sorry my words left scars.
I’m sorry my silence
reopened them constantly.
I’m sorry I was too busy
loving myself,
instead of loving you.
