I screamed
                                               rounded up
             never to be seen again
                         until tears became old
crippled ballet

I do not like them
not at all
I refuse to pay, take the fall
Oh Dear Canada please build us a wall

I tried to cross the border
no success, they said I have to pay
what?
tariffs they said
oh my, oh my for me? why?
you are ugly
we have a 25% tariff on ugly Canadians
I was shocked, as that's a lot
I showed them my passport again
please reconsider?
they looked and said *** do you not have a mirror?
for you is times three, 75%

All my mirrors broke and cracked long ago
what could I say?

No Ugly America for me

I wish I was an ugly octopus
I am sure life would be an epiphany
With ate or more helping hands
My tongue could live between the valleys grand
The forests would be rainy and wet
My torques lapping up raindrops as sweet honey dew
The twin peaks ***** over clouds so high
Why from above I am sure I would hear a sigh
For in the jungle down so deep
Lives the octopus who desires and weeps
Love decides who escapes and who he keeps

You were everything
the sky, the clouds, the why
I was just me
now and then I made you smile
my heart smiled with you

The sky is empty
white clouds tossing tears
the laughter ran away
now everything is nothing
a grave of memories

Now is no more
Sadness never dies

Fermented ideas
Growing old in cellars

A *******’s hand
Looking like old leather

Reaching out to touch the skies
Feeling love as the white dove flies

Empty bottles
Dancing in the crypt

A poets tears flowing as ink
Following the years of saddened drink

In a boat, I take up the oars
My dream to escape these horrid shores

In the seas, where ideas flow free
Tiss here that I ceased to be

Be patient
be very very patient
after that
add more patience
then wait
and wait
and wait and wait and wait
become a waiter
at least you will be paid to wait

When she finally finally arrives
give her the biggest smile you possibly possess
tell her, "Hello love, you are early and
looking very majestically beautiful my sweet!
what have you done to your hair love?"
since you have waited a century or two or three
it's a safe gamble she has, and you my friend
will be a big winner.

Therefore when you wait and wait and wait
be a winner
even skeletons
smile

Why does the world turn?
Like pages in a book
Unfolding the universe
Chapter and verse
Before our eyes

Why do the clouds make rain?
Like Gods wisdom, falling from the sky
Making life unfold before our eyes
Poem and verse, never explained
In the mist, we wonder in vain

Why does my heart beat?
For someone so far away
The moon, lifting up towards the nighttime sky
As cold winds wipe away my thoughts
One must ask, why?

When will she see?
Like waves in the ocean
Adventures were meant to be
Exploring new worlds
Where all things become possible

When?

Having a whiskey
With left over dreams
Walked through the park
Empty bottles kissing my feet
Snow flakes falling on dead trees
Dancing in the moonlight
Me and my whiskey
When the full moon fades
Far away in the dawn sky
On this cold winter night
Shall be my turn to lye down and die
Trilogy Poem Part One
Why
Arthur Vaso Mar 2017
Why
Breathe, why
The sky, why
My heart, why
Living, why

The past, to die

I am not in sky
I am not at all
I am if at all
Underneath the leaf of fall

Seasons change

Why?
Why?

The table set
candles flirting as they flicker
lovers sit for the meal
soft music entwined with anticipation
the ****** to follow
whispers and promises
as clothes fall to the floor
the beautiful ones
in the arms of paradise

Wine is also for ugly ones
I know this very well
I have a box of it myself
and a candle
to hold my memories of better times
I can be fancy too with wine and cheese
well Kraft dinner if you must know
I drink my box of wine
drunk
I fall onto the floor
wishing someone was under me

Wrinkles and Tears

I saw him
Alone over there
Ugly and full of wrinkles, I stared

I saw him
Alone over there
His coffee cold, I stared

I saw him
Alone many times over there
Contemplating the emptiness in front of him

I saw him
Sipping his coffee
With such focus and contemplation

I saw him
Alone over there
I asked the old man "Mind if I sit here?"

I heard him
Full of life and memories
With such energy and glee

I heard him
As I learned of life and history
We became friends, his gift to me

I heard him
As he proffered advice, laughter and wise words
I listened to the deeper beauty behind that wrinkled facade

I saw…………………………….I saw
   A hidden tear did fall

We often took walks and whiskey shots
He filled my soul with a history I never had
His kindness was gentle his words comedic
I soon learned he was never alone
For he lived in a happiness I could never acquire
I now had to ponder a delicate question

That first day, in the coffee shop
Who was truly alone?

Now I have the answer filled
As I shed tears at this old mans tomb
