I'm afraid, and that's something I'm not afraid to admit
The burn of waiting is burning right through my skull
And I'm scrambling because I don't know what bad your heart will confess to me
I weep not only for you
But for the love
That I gave unconditionally to you
Of which you did not accept graciously
For my love is hard to come by
I don’t give it to just anyone,
But you are special
And unforgettable.
So I’ll cry a river of tears
For the lies you told,
The love we both lost,
The hope of a future together,
The life I no longer want to live by myself.
Maybe someday we’ll be together
Until then,
I’ll wait for you
Even if it takes forever
Because I will love you
Forever and always
Words

sometimes words that are not spoken
does not mean they are not felt
we all prefer those special words
that make our heart just melt

sometimes words said out of place
that can be taken wrong
because they are not the words
for which are hearts so long

sometimes words need to be spoken
they open up the door
yet other times be kept silent
sometimes less is more

sometimes we need to think
be strong before we render
words that can cut too deep
and wound a heart so tender

The thoughts of 2 the words of 1
the memory still lingers
He saw...
an over made-up clown, eyes caked in shadow, lips redder than reality, cheeks on fire.

She was...
hiding the pain of her appearance, trying to look like the "norm", feeling hideous and needing a mask.

He heard...
her voice shrill and loud, her attitudes obtrusive, her opinions waivering with the crowd.

She was...
desperate to be noticed, drowning in self-doubt, craving reassurance, acceptance.

He felt...
she was cold and callous, harsh with her words, dark and unloving.

She was...
hurt to the point of no return, a soul full of love with no one to love, no one to trust.

He left.

She was already gone.
A word of advice:
If you don't mean what you say,
then do not say it.
Something we can all do better.
