as a wave you wash over me
i relish in the caress
you ebb on and i am content upon the sand
deep, nourishing water can never be held
in two small hands
possession is an illusion
your home is a divine vastness
and there you belong

She rages.
Everything is not as it should be.
Freedom is close,
But not yet.

The burden is one that cannot be borne.
Destroy it, embrace it.
He accepts both.

The choice decides him.

today i washed the dishes
but now im sad
i finished a painting
but now im still sad
i took a shower
while i was sad
i went for a walk
walking sadly
i lay in my bed
looking sad
i guess no matter what i do
im going to be sad

Cut yourself
Write it down
Cut someone else
Or just have ***
Just so you can feel it
So you can release your emotions

We all have different forms
of dealing with ****
That we don't understand
It's called your outlet

Medicate, Hallucinate
See things
Out of you own mind
Live things
Even if it’s all a lie
Find peace
In this hell
Of your own creation

Were you meant for this
God only knows
Does god exist
Nobody knows
I’m nobody
And i don’t know anything
I’m not living i’m dying
Yet i feel so alive
So **** me again

Contradiction
The ultimate expression
of the human condition
Live to die and live again
Holy hell
I can’t take this ****
I don't want to live through this again
If you're against cussing please don't comment about my language

I can’t help but love you
And I have no reason for loving you
Except for the love you provoke
I reflect love in your name
The world is solar powered
Daydreaming of bare feet on the terrace
My love heightened for all things
The ocean, the field, the patterns in the sky, the busying birds...
That list is endless
Like my love for you

Dr Peter Lim
Dear Fellow-writer Lazhar Bouazzi, I thank you heartily for your comments but here I am--an ordinary man who tries to live life as simply as I can, without the strappings of 'philosophy' or lofty ideas.  The living is the meaning but it's not the meaning that could apply to others.  We are all grains of sand on the seashore of life, each unique in our own way though we seem to look alike superficially.  Let's celebrate our togetherness in humanity and give thanks for the joys of words that inspire, ennoble, enhance and enrich.  Prose speaks eloquently but poetry, much more in its beauty, depth and subtlety--just like great music. Every day is a gift conferred upon us and every poem we write is a testament of our unfailing love of all that which is beautiful and sublime.

Time would take us away some day but words outlast time just as the stars in the firmament would never give up their light. We, in our finite capacity and intelligence, see things only partially but, if we open our hearts to the Grandeur of the Universe,  we will be transformed and come to realise, despite our smallness in the scheme of things, that we can rise higher to become larger than we are.

i couldn't figure out what was worse
smoking or loving you
either one would turn my lungs black
and stop my heart eventually

One By One

One by one we fade to black
petals falling from a cheap bouquet
we're gone too soon it seems
victims of the black parade
a field of roses a shallow grave
This is actually a poem written for a novel series I'm working on!
