I can feel you far from here
Blowing smoke from the ice in your lungs
Catching rays of summer sun with the palms of your hands
Opened, stretching outwards towards the touch of oblivion
The flickering of your eyelids to some bashful beat of beauty
Serene whispers of music only you and I can hear
Your lips caressing the air with a mix of sweet sultry words and ocean salt
The tenderness of acacias with the touch of thorns persisting perseverance

I can feel you far from here
Laughing at the conversation between ocean and seashells
Laughing your silver laugh thru pearl white teeth
Clenching nervously on your lower lip
And tugging at strands of auburn hair
Rolling your Mediterranean eyes
As your lungs fill with the slithering wisps of beach bonfire smoke
The blossoming of stars and the blooming of the misunderstood lotus

Funeral Stars

Tripping with funeral stars
Random friends in random bars
Prowling bibliophiles
Nature of caskets in the wild
Can you feel the shaman’s rage?
Advice from the poor man’s sage
The summer sun and the winter moon
The eclipsing gloom of noon
This strange life of indifference
Echoing athwart the earth

Wading thru the sun
Waiting to come undone
Wading thru the sun
Waiting for you to come

Wading, Waiting

For our funeral stars
Our random friends
In our random bars

You may never know,
Though I think of it often.
Never know the thoughts of you
That swim through my head each day.

You may never know,
Though I'm sure you used to.
For those perfections can
Draw you in with such a vigorous force.

You may never know,
Though your soul truly does.
That underneath the sarcasm,
Is my hatred for you.

I sway outside a wrecked poet's window
daily I see his mind raked
by fingers of clawing creation
I know his smiles are faked

My fractal arms forever aloft
my waiting blossoms and leaves
see his progress on falling apart
a soul strained through so many sieves

Changing seasons, personal treason
troubled the poet till May
when the spring brought his desired muse
as I am sorry to say

This story's been sung time and again
through mine own branches told
if you hark unto the sweet spring air
you'll see it yourself unfold

River

I caress the stone upon which I lie as a faithful lover
and seeping warmth from above sun, balanced atop blue sky cover
I hear the violent river gently light upon the stone
as I sit upon earths sculpture as a natural throne
tiny tributaries trickle slowly forming elegant art
as light fairies dance from water where graceful minnows dart
and as I sit upon my throne, as one who rules supreme
my eyes and ears absorb all that is beautiful and serene
the water flows supporting life and softening the earth
while to happiness, joy and peace, it gives selfless birth
so if you wonder upon this land of the continuous giver
remember this land, remember it well, this magic in the river

light go down
head turn around
(but ours)

i'll trade you this brain space
for your head case.
i like your purple
more than mine,
and in this place
i'm sure you'll find,
my greens are seen,
and the wine is fine.

things don't exist in retrospect
and if something
eventually
doesn't exist
than what is
This?
Is it at all?
Once something is gone
one wonders where it went,
perhaps it was never really here,
and it's form was only a word,
hollow and limp,
set adrift and filled
with the wind
which it truly is.
Perhaps
we shall see.
Perhaps
Not.

In any case,
once we are the hollow again
it won't mind,
as this is we are the wind.
