The mirror offers you an image
Mirroring your inner-self
Also reflecting your thoughts
Imaging according to your perception
Either you are in alliance, what you see
Or shocked by the alter-ego hidden
Now reflected by the crystal clear mirror
Sometimes the clarity is a revelation
Difficult to comprehend
When you are in front of the mirror
Standing in front of another ‘You’
It’s a dual versus you and your twin
Always carrying that image in you
Now clearly exposed by the mirror
Reflection of the self, reflecting on your mind
Is it a union of duality?
Seamlessly bound, unaware all the while
Until you confront the mirror
Challenging you with the duality
Not a deceit, but now aware of the self
Is it that the mirror gives a self-realization?
What the mirror offers, is not only an image

Elegant pavements
With numerous footfalls all day
Yet to find a foothold

All I have is a piece of blotting paper
Written thoughts were just a blotch
Ink devoured by it and the pen ran dry

Love is infinite
It will span beyond time*

What words are
But reflection of the mind
Spoken from the heart
Not always!
Embellished with flattery
Paying obeisance to the ego
Plethora of lies
May be music to the ears
Once they set in
And it’s too late
Every word becomes lethal
Shattering confidence
Words remain words
Nothing more
But a tirade
Vitriolic moments arise

Massive destruction
Can we be the architect
Recreate the original draft
If not, why destroy
Devastate the present
Barren future awaits them

Forgive me for being carried away
with the false dreams, tried to take off
and could not confront the strong winds
they were wings of borrowed hopes
which I had accepted with certainty

The moonlight looks tenderly
At the lost soul in the midst of nowhere
Wandered away from the crowd
Walking through the valley
The quaint canvas of the night sky
A sight to behold

The old pond is now filled
Brimming with clear water
Fresh rains brought it to life
Schools of fish swimming
Someone throws a stone
Creating ripples across its serenity

The fire of passion burns like ember
Only to ignite fire in their heart
Waiting to engulf both the souls
In frenzied tango, that they perform
Unaware of the wildfire that started
With blazing passion, consuming the paradise*

The mind is inebriated
With the mix of emotions
Dancing in a frenzy
Reaching dizzying moments
Where words seem blurry
Trying to reach out to them
Express the negative euphoria
You can’t but help
To dance with them
In a state of stupor
Open your heart
To let the emotions flow
Splashes on ink
From the brimming heart
Falls on the paper
With the mix of emotions

When you don’t feel the soft breeze
There is absolute stillness around
Nothing is exchanged with nature
The little messenger brings no tales
From the faraway lands
What’s conspiring in the silence?
Heart is eager to know
Birds too have stopped chirping
Maybe they are one with you
Respecting your inner silence
Feel the soft breeze of change, within

Language was not a barrier
We communicated with eyes
Best conversation ever
Through the window of our soul
Our souls shook hands
Eliminating the distance

When it’s time to face the world
There’s the madness that surrounds you
You want to retire to the edge of the world
Your shout at the top of your voice
Yet, the words fall on deaf ears
When it is a challenge to emerge from the crowd
Within, the voice call out, you can do it
While being swept off by the nonchalance
You become more resilient
Your soul and heart have faith in you
All you can say to the world “watch me what I do”
You can brave the madness of neglect
Rip through the veils of arrogance
You have the words in you
Revolutionizing the world within you
Let the pen run riot across the pages
Read out to the world
Words that soften each blow
When the world will one day wake up
Your words will make an impact
The whole world will listen
When you unleash the madness within
You can cut through the fiercest opposition
Words will ring true
When everyone will listen in stupefied silence

Nature is resplendent
Her each and every contour
Glistening with the morning light
And by the moonlight it becomes sensual
Evoking an aura of love in our heart
As if an angel with the perfect beauty
With the changing moods as seasons
Her love encompasses all of humanity
As love requires a heart which can hold multitudes
For she is our guiding angel
And I have learnt to love from Nature

Rushing through life
Overlooking the nuances
Simple things trampled easily
Palpitating heartbeats
Nervous breakdown imminent
Eager, trembling hands
Trying to get a grip
It’s too late to embrace life

It’s presence we can feel
Our eyes can’t seem to catch a glimpse
Only possible through the gentle sway of leaves
And a whiff touching your hair
Or while brushing against your body
It can carry the fresh perfumes from afar
Winds are also a messenger, for things to come
Always making us aware of its presence
The wind slithers through the deepest forests
If it faces obstruction, it changes its path
Swiftly travelling to a new destination
Wind disregards the manmade boundaries
As wind is nature’s messenger
It can also bring a wind of change
It may be bright or sometimes sinister
The wind has neither creator nor destroyer
The wind is the master of its own journey
Traversing and circumventing any obstacles
The wind is the inspiration to so many poets
With the help of the wind the sailor finds the way
The wind is mystical and is also intriguing
Sometimes it also brings destruction
The wind also sweeps away the dirt
Bringing with it a change or transformation
It’s here, there and everywhere- omnipresent
Winds of change will sweep away over us

We usually take the paved path,
It is crowded all along,
As we are all jostling for space and recognition.
It always leads to the mundane and the necessary,
Binding us to a routine we enact,
Our mind’s being concrete in our thinking and decision.
We dwell not beyond what we can see and feel,
We are numbed by the wrath of fast paced life,
Do we not want to veer away from the usual and experience life?
The paved path can offer us just that,
And restrict our feelings and thinking,
Envision what lies beyond the horizon...

Transient moments
celebrated with love
fair eyes see beauty
only love, that never dies

The subtle makes an impact
Our eyes are enticed towards embellishments
Blinded by the glare

The air has become too cold
Inhaling the solitude with every breath
Insides have started to hurt
Cold grips the every crevice of the body
Once there was sunshine
Now, only the overcast conditions
All the flowers of hope have dried
A forlorn garden remains
The stone walls have become a dungeon
Every passing day, they come closer
And constrict the movement
Time is running out
Before every beautiful memory is pushed away
Windows have become a one way passage
Last bit of hope escapes
Whole world is shut out
And this soul left a prisoner in the house
Cold bed welcomes the weary soul
The logs are damp with tears
And the fireplace was the last resort
To burn away the remaining memories

Rolling out from deepest corner of the heart
It tells us about unspoken emotions
Breaching the dams, to swell out
Gushing out with the untold story
Cleansing the soul with each passing waves
As feelings of sorrow have no spoken language
Swelling up in the eyes, which remained idle for years*

Poetry suffers silently
Against the vitriolic attacks
A fatal blow to the muse
Shedding tears of blood
A poetic injustice

When it’s perpetual winter
And you are stripped to your soul
Facing the strong icy cold winds
Cutting through your skin and bones
Every gush of wind like chainsaw cut
Deep gashes and wounds
Mutilate the steely resilience of past
The sun shall never shine
Gagged and tied behind the clouds
Of uncertainty of the mayhem
Mankind has stooped so low
Iron fists dishing out knockout punches
Will and the power to realign
Seems a distant dream
Few blinded by power, running amuck
Destroying the paradise once was
Only harsh winter for now
Overcast conditions seems reality for now
Extreme power have made them vile
Someday, there will be turn of events
Waves of resistance will push them back
Into the oblivion and beyond
Annihilate with determination and together
All need to unite for a greater cause
Awaiting spring, after long wintry days

I can’t remember
As I walk through memory lane
So many beautiful moments
But always incomplete without you
Looking for the other half
There is a silent void
They don’t match up anymore
And bear no meaning today
Once a dream that was true
Deep within it felt like eternity
Can’t seem to relate to them today
Staring at the unfinished dream
Insides scream, to call you back
It’s an incomplete existence
I have to carry on with this journey
Finally, time will say the final end
Till that time I am trapped within me

The crickets chirped away
Unaware of day and night
Safely lodged under the rock
Invading the silence in the porch

From the bottomless pit
There’s billowing smoke
Can’t see the fire of discontent
Friction that ignited the spark
Now blew out of proportion
Ravaging the calmness
Fuelled by rage, flames engulf
Every possible thing on its path
Glowering and showing no mercy
This shall not stop till it burns away
Don’t dare to go too near
It’s the fire of discontentment
Until this is brought under control
The inner-world is at peril
All will be left are ashes and remnants
And embers of the glorious days
Fuel not this fire, to burn down things
Let it show you the path in darkness
None but you can control the fire
Fire is always misunderstood

Night, smeared
In the morning sky
Melancholic feelings
Casts a shadow
The fire is doused
Only ashes remain

Trying to paint on a canvas
None of the colors struck a chord
And the brush cleansed the palette
Devoid of any colors
On the canvas was unfulfilled dreams

The night gives way to dawn
A brand new day awaits us
Wonder, if night and dawn have a pact
An understanding between the opposites
Establishing the existence of contradictions
Never interfering with each other’s schedule
The diurnal is the amalgamation of both, night and day
If the night does not give way to dawn, the ‘Day’ is incomplete*

The hardest thing to hold on to
is the change that suddenly sweep you off
Stepping on once calm water
suddenly the undercurrents catch you unaware
Change for the better or worse
you will have to swim upstream and find out

The world that may exist
Yet to be explored
As we may not have imagined
What we have seen till now
The edges of covers
Maybe laying there, at some corner
Where we may not have reached
Or, it’s too close to us
Where our eyes do not see
Busy with our daily chores
Daily duties seeks our attention
We have woven our reality
Minds do not want to believe otherwise
The secret maybe in the bird’s calls
Or the animals behavior
Or in the nature’s upheaval
Are we listening carefully
Is it a figment of one’s imagination
Where does it germinate
If seeds were not planted
Somewhere in the distant past
Of what we have known till now
If it comes to a nought
From where we have started
Are we ready for a different world
Or, it’s preposterous to think otherwise

She sleeps there in the chambers
The morning light caresses her
She paints a picture of serenity
As if time has stopped to appreciate
A perfect painting of sleeping beauty
Braided tresses lies across her beguile heart
Like a serpent entwined across in slumber
Her lithe body, breathing in perfect harmony
Creating a trance like milieu
Her beauty is mesmerizing, the faint glow captivating
Only covered with a sleep linen
The languid morning doesn't dare to wake her up
Pillows are cajoling her and being indulgent  
Her unfading beauty mesmerizes me
The sleeping beauty rests there in grace
As I quietly trespass into her dreams

Dust settles on us for we remain motionless
The mites start to live off us, as parasites do
******* off all the common sense still remaining
Even our vision diminishes with the accumulating dust
Unable to choose our own course for the future
As we have slowly and prematurely turned to dust
One day the strong wind blows away all the dust
Without a trace, we fade away from this world

What did the caged bird know
Those wings were for flight
Out of the cage
And freedom held hostage

Sometimes life runs in slow motion
No matter how much you try
You are unable to walk out of the situation
A feeling, when time runs without you
Taking the world around you much ahead
And you are left behind, in a time wrap
Your limbs become tired, trying to swim
Inside the tide, which, has drowned you
In the deluge of memories
Neither can you swim back to the shores
Nor, leave behind the present situation
Keep paddling through the turbulence
Incapacitated heart beating feebly
Lungs filled with despair, gasping for breath
It won’t be long, you drown
If you don’t find a way to release yourself
From the chains of failing memories
Life will slow down further
Before you realize
You are heading for the bottomless pit

Sometimes where brevity is required, we elaborate
Where we need to elaborate, we rely on brevity
While altering the situations we get caught in crossfire

The coffee has been brewing for long
Strong aroma filled every corner of the house
Poured into the favorite mug
The coffee tastes too bitter, sugar cubes of no help

The face that smiled
Once found the reason to compare
The soul grimaced

Meditate on the present
And listen to your soul
As it prepares you for future
Breathe in life to rejuvenate
And realize the power within you

Trust me with your heart
Mine beats, along with yours
For we are, not Two, but One*
