I stare out my window
and into the rain,
at the dark clouds
filled with electricity
and watch
as the sky is illuminated
as strike after strike
is sent from within
to the world waiting below.
skin skidding
lips breathe as one
novels fill with the mystery,
the language
we create
magnets and mirrors,
our hearts race in harmony
intertwined
and
in love.

She is the color of passion ー
    The heated sighs and whispers
of promises to be broken in
    cold, lonely nights.

She is the color of kisses ー
     Chafed and bruised in stolen
      Moments, never to be
      experienced again.

She is the color of scorn ー
      Laughter, icy and vengeful,
      over desperate pleas as they
      fall to Bitter ears.

She is the color of women,
      of mother and child,
      Forgotten and forsaken ー
a ransom paid for one eternal
      Night.
A piece that will be part of my poem anthology called Erebus & Eros. I'm still piecing the manuscript but I don't hesitate to share some of the pieces. You can say this is fitting for Women's Day (and yes, I know I missed it by a week)
I've never known a poet left unbattered by life's cruel jokes.
But isn't that what life is?
One big, cosmic joke.
Someone's laughing at our expense.
The little girl was sitting on the wall,
Looking down on him with hate filled eyes.
You broke the world, she said.
And he didn't understand.
But who ever understood anyway?
I don't know.
More than a year has passed,
Since they built the wall,
yet every night,
I press my ear
against the rough brick,
hoping to hear
his melodic voice again.
There are a lot of
lonely people in this world.
Unintentionally ten words
