You're trying your best.
It's okay,
I promise.

This world has teeth
and it will try to chew you up
but we're not its food.

You're trying your best,
and that is what keeps us
alive to run another day
from the bite of the world.

Only the moon
Defines our day
With orbit

Only sunshine
Allows our life

Only our ***
Creates our people

Only your love
Made me whole

Now moon drifts away
3.87 centimetres
Each year

The night shall stretch
And die

You left
All at once

Only I cry
I cry
I cry

you will go your way
despite my protests
no use lamenting
what was never promised
the sun rides low the horizon
soon it will not clear the treetops
storms gather in the northern sea
needled wind to scattered seed
hoary frost on yellowed grass
dark leaves in mirrored puddles
a suspended death
crystalline and indeterminate
there is no fire hot enough
to stave off the first chill
of a careless winter
the numb hibernating sleep
soft gray melting days
the desperate wish
to regain summer
Hello my poet friends!  What a lovely surprise to wake up to this blustery morning.  Thank you for sticking with me through a crazy summer of sporadic posts - you are all wonderful.  Much love!

does breaking someone else
make you feel less broken?

does loving someone
make you feel  less  guilty
of ignoring someone else's feelings for you?

does feigning emotions for someone
who's pretending to feel the same way for you
cancel out to reality?

the way it could make anyone listen
        to the thunders,
        to the howling winds,
        to the weather forecasts,
to anything that could make the shock of the storm seem bearable.
       like preparing for something
actually makes you ready for it.
the way the water droplets plummet
       so quickly,
       so carelessly,
       so unhesitant
so vulnerable to gravity.
like falling apart or falling down can be a choice
without anyone looking down at you.
Lately, I have been watching the rain. And I couldn't help overthinking.
