His eyes penetrate the mirror,
And the glass penetrates him back.
Tears rain down his cheeks,
And his semblance undergoes a crack.

His head hits the pillow,
His eyelashes flutter along to dreams.
Mother watches with weepy eyes,
Then sunlight through the window beams.

His heart flutters like a leaf in a breeze,
Excited by the man before his eyes.
For years he has struggled
With this affection he was taught to despise.

Even as his heart tells him what to do,
The boy continues to hide his truth.
It seems there is much to lose,
It seems a way to ruin his youth.

But the secret ails him—
A condition untreated.
Without exploration,
His heart remains defeated.

Destruction clasps onto him, an iron grip,
And his demons come alive.
He begins to hate himself,
Struggling to survive.

Hatred finds him during his adolescence—
Like a deadly blade wishing him dead.
To survive, he learns a simple truth—
His beliefs must be shed.

Now a cloak of happiness hangs from his shoulders—
His boyfriend is in his arms.
He has parted with society’s silly notions,
Of which only dealt him harm.
In autumn
I try to imagine
That cooling nights
Are only Spring
Returning.

I imagine
Planting the garden
Again,
But old Frost
Reminds me
That second childhood
Is only the precursor
Of winter's death.
Ah, but you did succeed
There in your darkened deed
With your great hands of death
Stealing, My last, dry breath
And without a single uttered sound
Laying me in cold ground
Should I give Thee praise
For the shortening of my days?
Should I thank thee kindly,
For your acting so blindly?
The earth speaks as it consumes
And at the very least I'm given lovely tomb
A shining death shroud
Ah, are you proud?!
Do you remember me With the wind
My darling, murderous friend?
This silken shroud, my death dress
You didn't forget the scarlet "A" upon my breast
The earth won't quiet,
and I shall never rest~A
I recall our high place
Where we worshipped on summer nights
Sitting on the pond bank
Watching the sky's reflection on the still waters
Every star perfectly mirrored
We skipped stones along the lucid summer sky
Paying our tithes with moist kisses
Eternity whispered in our ears with breezes
Prayers scattered along the waters edge in white flower petals
We two children, closer to whatever God resided then in our hearts,
Than we would ever be again
Our laughter echoed like church bells rang on Sundays for worship call
The moon, our reverend, calling our hearts
To The Great Alter of All That Is
Time was still and stollen
We lived then,
I go there sometimes still and think of you
Since you were plucked so carelessly as the most beautiful of lotus lillies

I believe this is the first thing I've ever written that I couldn't give a title. Suggestions are welcome.
Where have all the Unicorns gone ?
the sun is down, in the on and off rain

"They were here just a memory ago"

The night is on. . . in maximum
The stars hiding behind
Blankets of cold clouds
. . . have nothing to say

"The Unicorns never have to pay ,
just go on their way ,
grazing by the sea Eternity "

Inside I am gazing
into the emptiness of the night
Wondering ,"Where has all the magic gone ?"
. . . away on the backs of the Unicorns
It breaks my heart
to watch the women around me
allow men

to silence their song,
mute their colors,
smolder their fire.

Love is meant to lift us up,
not destroy our existence.
We all paint our lives.
The mountains of challenges,
The rivers of tears,
The waterfalls of joy.

We mix the colours of sorrow and laughter
And add the colours of experience and the years that passed.
The souls we will always remember
And the moments we will never forget.
