When loving someone, we sometimes get lost
I went from someone you wanted
To someone you resented
Because love has the power to change us

And now I realize that I miss my old self
The one you loved before becoming this empty shell
And now I realize I must become that self again
Change for the better so that I will keep sane

And now I realize that you miss that old self too
But you still love me like I love you
And that has made all the difference
That you kept holding my hand while I fixed myself
And become once again the girl you deserve

In a world without technology,
can you imagine how it would be?
To not have any lights.
We'll probably stay home at night.

In a world without technology,
we'll lose forms of connectivity.
We'll not have wifi or 3G,
distance will be as it should be.

However, without technology,
We won't have people far away,
because we can only walk on foot.
Most will live at home for good.

Without technology,
perhaps there'll be more sincerity,
where more people would be seen,
not looking at their phone screens.

Instead they'll stop and listen,
giving undivided attention,
to the people by their side.

Perhaps without technology,
we would have to do things manually.
Life may be tough physically.

But with technology,
is our life really that easy?
Is the world really as it should be?
Are people living in harmony?

Or is there more strife?
More people losing their lives?
Or is there more pain,
more people dying in vain?

What about pollution?
Isn't it part of our contribution?
All the fuels and carbon,
it'll soon bring us to extinction.

Our earth today is now diseased,
life on earth is not at peace.
We can deny all this,

And this is the utter irony,
while it gives us mass connection,

It reduces engagement,
attention and perhaps even compassion.
"Across the globe, millions reported dying",
ends up being desensitizing.

Technology's connectivity,
leaves us more detached than we should be.
This is a poem on how technology gives us many conveniences and advantages, but it also robs us of many things.  I'm not saying life would definitely be better without it, this is to provoke thinking and to challenge the view that humanity is definitely better with technology.

What is genuine happiness and how do I obtain it? I am in dire need of self peace. I want to put my mind at ease without substance abuse. I am tired of being a slave to my habits.

Did you grow up thinking a streak of black ink across your eyelids
would make you feel better about yourself
Did you grow up thinking fake lashes
would make someone fall in love with you a little more
Did you grow up thinking eye-enlarging contact lenses
would make someone look at you any differently
Did you grow up thinking a bottle of liquified foundation
would make you hide away all the things you hate about yourself
Did you grow up thinking a tube of cheap gloss
would make your self esteem increase by leaps and bounds
Did you grow up thinking that learning how to apply mascara
would make you the pretty woman you deserve to feel like
Did you grow up thinking a size zero on that dress
would make you feel like you have it all?

Or did you grow up asking yourself
*When will I start accepting me, for me?

Life is ambient colours,
We are shades in the spectrum
The light bends around us,
We are aura upon life
Brightness,
Transparency,
Illuminated
Are we upon the world, we are
But like a prism, moods can change
From one to another, a less bleak
Aura can blend with situations
And once vibrant can
Diminish
Subside
Uninspired
Life can drag you down,
Became a shadow of our
Former self,
Our ambient colours of life
Can brighten up others days,
Or drag others down, We have
Auras of colours that
Can be as illuminated as any day,
Or swallow us in the gloom,
We are easel, a mixture of colours,
Each slightly changing to the moods life plays..

To stand in balance and connection
With the Earth
To stand on one's one
Without depending on anything
Not leaning on a wall for a breakthrough

To breathe on one's own
To breathe fully
Lungs
Blossoming and shriveling
Without the intake of
Toxic fumes
Or liquid rage
Not leaning on a vessel for a
Breakthrough
Attached to now
Love without borders
To be here and smile
Love outside conditions
Or held in the claws
Of expectations
to be here without an excuse
Or a divided idea to fall into

Even if this life
Just spins lives upside down
Simply because it can
Even if after everything
The world has evolved
To explodes in the Sun
Even if life doesn't have
A greater meaning than this
Moment
Even if our legacies
And our pain
Never mattered
Even if we die
And meet death
With blackness
And indifferent regeneration
One day our story will be
Forgotten
And we will never truly know
All the small details
That brought our atoms together

All of our ancestors within us
Encouraging us to stand
And breathe on our own
The animal kingdom
IS
And does not ask questions
All we have to do is look up
To know where it all began
The moon has all the answers
The stars we are made of
Will us to shine
Without illusory fuel
We are stronger than mental reasons
Subject to change at the blink
Of perception
We do not have to give
Our power away
We do not need motivation
To create
We are and it is a miracle
Enjoy the phenomena
That is the all
Expanding evermore
Towards infinity
This is where Existentialism
Meets Spirituality

I know you'll never see this,
But I just wanted you to know,
That even if you believe,
That she is all you need,
I need you.

I tried to let you know,
So long ago,
Before she was even back,
Taking you from me.
I love you.

You said you cared for me,
But if you did, why'd you leave?
No goodbye this time,
Because you pretend you're still here.
I miss you.

All I want is to be with you,
To care for you,
To let you in.
I want to make you happy.

But you cut me down,
You don't want me,
No matter how much I,
Bend to you.
I'm nothing.
I miss him so much.
