I think that we all need to feel special
We all need to feel connected to someone
We all need to know that we are loved
To be touched
To be held
To be told that everything will be o.k.
Sometimes all we need is a hug
A kiss

From that special someone

The spirit is in everything
The spirit breathes through
The universe and beyond
The spirit know your heart

The spirit lives inside of you

Illusions will start to fade away

We are all stained
We are all trying to remove the blemishes
Remove the scars
Remove the dark part of our pasts
The dark part of ourselves
We are all stained in our own ways
Things that make us wonder
If we will ever get clean again
If we can ever become whole
If we can ever become pure
Free of stains
Free of hurt
Free of pain
Free of the things
That make us question ourselves
If we are really where we are supposed to be
We all have our stains
They can cloud our eyes
Make us feel *****
Make us feel like we can never truly be clean
That we will just have to live the rest of our lives feeling unclean
Feeling stained
Feeling damaged
Feeling lost
Feeling alone
Ostracizing ourselves more and more
Feeling more and more cut off from others and from ourselves
But we all have our stains
There is no reason to hide
We all have those moments
When we feel unclean
And like we can never be whole
And like we are standing out in the rain all alone
But it's through life's trials
That we are able to learn and to grow
And slowly but surely remove some of the stains
And replace them with a more whole
And fresh
And clean you

The stairway to heaven
Is not that far away
The stairway to heaven
Is already inside
You just have to know where to look
It leads from our hearts
And extends out to others
And into heaven
As we pour out love
Our hearts are connected
Connected by love
Connected by grief
Connected by pain
Connected to God
And heaven above

Starlight falls on me

They shine like embers

They guide us

A new chance for us to start again

I stare blankly at the stationary
I don't quite know what to say
I know what I need to say
But I just don't really know how to express them
I sit in anticipation
Waiting for my pen to write
Willing my fingers to move
I am wrapped with indecision
Its like my mind and body are frozen
Its almost like they are paralyzed
As if the thought of writing alone
Has caused my mind to falter
I know it needs to be done
I need to set it free
Set free the emotions
The things that you did
The things that I did
The things that we both can't take back
The things that we said to each other
The time that we both can't take back
The anger and the frustration
The love and passion that might still be there
Its all there
Still raw
Real emotions are threatening to grasp me
But I know that I need to write
Need this cathartic ritual
To get rid of everything
And give it all back to you
And be honest
And just write
And get it all out
Before it paralyzes me any further
And keeps me from moving on
And moving forward with my life

Sometimes we have
To step away from ourselves
To truly see ourselves at all

Arrows fly like darts through the wind
Piercing whatever they can in their path
Just as arrows can pierce a person's skin
Words can pierce just as bad
Sometimes we walk around
And we are not aware of the affect that our words
And our actions have on other's
It is so easy to be malicious sometimes
And to say things that we know might hurt people
Especially when we are feeling threatened
Or when we are angry
Or even to hide ourselves and our own insecurities
Its easier sometimes just to put some one down
Piercing them with our words
And stabbing them with our actions
A look
A glance
A snicker
Avoiding them all together
Purposely going out of your way to hurt some one
To try and get back at them
For some wrong we think they might have done
Its easy sometimes
To send these verbal projectiles
We toss them around all the time
Letting them fall wherever they may
Leaving carnage and destruction in their wake
Harming and scarring those who they hit
Blindly hurting people
Whether it be intentional or otherwise
We need to be more careful with each other
And try to heal the hurt that has been caused
By the random sling
And the wayward arrow
That finds its target
And sinks into their soul

Stories influence our lives
They influence who we are
We are all told stories
When we are really young
The stories that are parents tell us
The stories we hear on the news
The stories we read
Even the stories we are taught in school
Hold importance in shaping
Just who we are to become
We are all told certain things
Certain things we have become accustomed to accepting
We are told these stories so many times
That we start to believe that these stories are true
Stories about our families
The stories we hear on the news
The stories that people write about us
They all play a role
Sometimes it can be hard to know
Exactly which stories we should
Really be paying attention to
Not all of the things we are taught are always the truth
We have to be able to discern for ourselves
Which stories we should pay attention to
Which stories we should take to heart
Words and stories have power
They have the power to move people
But they also have the power to hurt people
To move people to act out of hate
Justifying people's actions
And giving us the wrong ideas
That can be dangerous
And can cause us to act out of ignorance
Causing us to move
To act off of these stories that we are told
That we are made to believe are true
But there are stories
And words that can uplift people
That can move people to great feats of kindness
That can make you think about something
That you might not have thought of otherwise
That offers those words of encouragement
When you really need it
That allows you to see things
From someone else's view
That even show you things about yourself
That you might not have thought of before
I think it's up to us
To decide what is the truth
And the lessons that we should take along with us
More often than not we repeat the same stories
And the same mistakes
That we are taught when we are younger

Its easy to be strict on ourselves
Sometimes we are our own worst judge
Catching ourselves doubting
Wondering if what we did was the right decision
Constantly questioning ourselves and our actions

Having a strong will
Is about sticking to what's right
Knowing the truth
And being able to be flexible enough
To change and grow as necessary
And as you become stronger in yourself
Others will see your strength too
And you can begin to share that strength with others

Never truly healing our
Tears and our wounds
We can just keep
Reopening the same old
Wounds and not knowing
How to get rid of the pain
That keeps building up
Inside that they can't
Control the pain and the
Hurt and the internal scars
That keep breaking and
Bleeding as we try to find
Different ways to bandage
Our own wounds
Unfortunately we often
Choose the wrong things
To try and heal our pain
Or heal our scars and we
Can ultimately end up
Hurting ourselves more
In the process trying to
Stitch ourselves back
Together again from
The mess that our
Lives can easily become
But the only thing that
Can heal any scar is love
Love heals all wounds both
Physical and emotionally
And especially spiritual
It is the only thing in life
That can completely heal
Everything if we allow it
We just have to be willing
To seize and find that inner
Well of love and peace
And healing inside of
Ourselves to truly set
Ourselves free from
The pain and the scars
And all of the restrictions
That come from holding
On to those scars and
Allowing them to build
Over time until the pain
And scars can become
All we will ever know

If they had not fallen
We could surely not have been saved
They would have stayed innocent
Not being able to procreate
And to be able to procreate
And to populate the Earth
They also would have stayed immortal
Death would not have touched their lips
There would have been no need for salvation
Evolution would have stopped
Dead in its tracks
Stuck cold in an evolutionary draw
With nothing ever happening at all
But it was because of this fall
That we were able to die
So that way we could truly live
And live and procreate upon the Earth
And for better or for worst
We have moved along
Procreating and evolving
Moving closer to the day of reckoning
