i can’t help but stare at the ceiling
what else is there to do at midnight
when everyone else is preoccupied
and i am wandering aimlessly through life

ghost girl
gently
so gently
you pulled the
threads loose,
set me free

but the relief lasted
barely a moment -
you tied me to
you, chained me,
and even after
you decided
you didn't want me
anymore

you left me
with the shackles
and the bruises
and the empty bed
and the sheets
that still smell
like you.

He ate flowers.

this mentally challenged boy
from the countryside
I used to watch him
in the fields
when I visited my grandparents
as a kid
He was like an exotic thing
a wild beast chasing
static pray
They had no chance,
the flowers
he would assault them
with a killer's smile, frothing,
and would grab
and tear and rip them from
the stem and
would eat them

Nobody knew why
and the only explanation given
was that he was insane

then the men and women
who saw him would
scream at him
to stop and he would raise
his head and watch them
like a deer surprised by
headlights
Then he would spit the colorful
froth from his big mouth
and would run home
hopping and leaping like a horse
through the tall grass

He was mostly inoffensive,
this flower eating boy
but they all told me to stay away
from him and would
always chase him away when
he got too close

Time passed and I moved to the
city and went to school there
and stopped visiting the
countryside and its wonders
I got busy
and my busy life drove away the
magic and mystery of childhood

The flower eating boy is now but
a memory
neither good
nor bad
just strange, interesting

He doesn't eat flowers anymore
because he doesn't live in the
countryside anymore
No, from what I've heard
he's in some mental facility and it was
his last flowery meal that sent him there

I don't know,
maybe if they hanged signs with
"Don't wear flowers in your hair!"
around the village and the fields
that little girl would've been saved
and the village would still have its
magic beast.

I am facing grief
I can see her standing not far off
calmly waiting

I won't look down
or avert my gaze
I dare her to look away first
My teeth are clenched but I won't let her know
And my fists may shake
and my eyes may burn
but I will stand my ground
when she finally walks my way
I hate waiting on a prognosis, on a length of time, on cancer to finally take over again in my family.

With you, I want to dance in the dark
Rekindle that special spark
Remember when we first met
Watch a breathtaking sunset

With you, I want you to know my love
To tell you what I dream of
To let you know what you mean to me
And then let you love me eagerly

With you, I wanna watch the stars
Down here, from afar
Watch the clear night sky
In your arms I feel I could fly

With you, anywhere is home
Whether right here or in Rome
But I just need you to know
I'll follow you wherever you go

When times get hard
When times get tough
When I feel I've had
More than enough

I try and think
Of the simple things
And the joy in life
That they bring

Like the upward crease
in a baby's smile

Or the feeling you get
after the extra mile

The fluttered flight
of a butterfly

The erratic beauty
that plays across the sky

The sun in both
the rise and set

The heart of a child
in its innocense

A love that has
dug in deep

A father that's good
at listening

A shower in
the month of May

The glowing shimmer
of a mountains lake

A bride and groom
the moment that

They say I do
to the life they'll live

Or the joy that's found
in a new birth

That makes it all
for all it's worth

When times get hard
When times get rough
When I feel I've had
More than enough

These are just
A few of the things
I think about
For the joy they bring

Two lonely empty hands
for you.
They didn't touch
but love you.
Two lonely empty hands
for you.
They didn't promise
but want you.
Two lonely empty hands
for you.
They didn't beg
but hug you.

I know .
you didn't need me
to complete you.
I know.
You didn't want me
to fulfill you.
I know
You didn't
Ask to love you...

But...
I can stop...
For you.
Not me...
Because of love ..

For simple touch.
For lonely kiss.
For empty hand..
Don't ask..
Just beg ..
I will..
I want.
I am..
End.

Graveyard

They say be scared of funerals
Because the wooden box traps beasts.
I say what is one funeral compared to the whole
Graveyard in my heart in which I so carefully lowered my memories,
Packed them like sardines, their skeletons grinding bones to dust,
Crunching sounds you can only hear
If you get close enough to smell the decay.
