I Will
Nomad Apr 2014
I will
Promise you the things, I know that I can keep,
here in our house, on this bed where we sleep.
I will
Never let you go
Never let my feelings show
because my pride is too much for even me to handle,
I stumble in the dark looking for a light, to light the candle.
I Will
Always be your friend
even up to the never end.
We've a long road ahead,
and this road never stops, even after that we are dead.
I will
be faithful always, to you and you alone,
because for you and only you, I'll take the beating of any stick or stone.
I lay down my life, I put my heart in the care of your hands,
Do not drop it, or break it, or share it, because no one understands.
I will
Be your best friend, one of a kind indeed,
One day we'll have it right together, one day I shall succeed.
I know it's a long way from there,
but believe me when I say that there's more that I'm able to bare.

I will never give up, never surrender, to a world that's so defiant,
sooner or later, the wee little man, will grow to be the giant.
We shall show the world, exactly what we're made of,
we're made from the best of divine qualities, and the best of that, is Love.
I will teach
I will preach,
I will do what must be done,
But hurry, hurry now, before the setting sun.

I will however, take a break once in a while,
and just watch the birds fly mile after mile,
Or see how the people go about, shuffling their feet,
hard strained to see a smile, with strangers that they meet.
So here I will sit, to watch the world spin 'round,
so here I will sit, and not make a sound.

I dare say, I've said quite a lot,
perhaps too much, but too little all the same,
back to bed with you now, away with your silliness, you lads and ye dames.
I will promise you something, that you'll not forget so soon.
That tomorrow when you awake and arise,
that even when at your best or your worst, you'll always have the bluey skies.
Look at the sky, be they cloudy or be it as it may,
so far I've seen there's one thing that'll always stay.

I will
let you leave,
if that's what you wish.
Or perhaps a friendly game of, what is it, Go-Fish?
HA.
Nomad Apr 2014
If you're reading this, or stumbled upon this by chance,
then you've done a good deed, allow me to explain, this fortunate happenstance!
You see my dear reader, you've done quite extraordinarily well,
because for each stroke of key, each dash of a pencil,
you've created something unique, and different, and altogether wonderful!
You've bravely and boldly put out one foot, and followed close with the other,
you, dear reader, are a name among many, child, brother, sister, father, or mother.
You've done it, yes I must say you have indeed,
you've broken the barrier, for with words, here you exceed!
Exceed beyond expectations, beyond the crushing blow,
the world tried to stamp you out, but it didn't work, I'm sure you know.
Because here you are! Still standing, sitting, living right there!
And you still have a set of lungs to breath, that sweet, smoggy, air!
Ah yes, all jest aside,
no, no, my friend stay but a little while longer! No need to run or hide!

Ah yes my friend what a splendid job you've done,
doing what many others, would not dare to have begun!
You're life of longing, all your wishes and fears alike,
you've written them all out, now you speak them through the mike.
Here you are, in your own little world, secluded, or so it seems,
here where you sit and read, the others hopes and dreams.
So sit on again,
come back to me my friend,
and we'll find out just what you've done, and what needs doing,
and don't bother about the work, there's no other place that's going.

You've exposed yourself, naked on this page,
you've said it all, the hate, hurt, the happiness, and the rage.
You've cried tears of joy, and let the river of pain flow on,
You've even stayed awake for this, well past the crack of dawn.
You've helped others see, what they could not see in themselves at all,
what bravado, what commitment, what gallantry, what gall!
So here you are, reading this silly little poem,
and you have a choice to make, to stay isolated and alone, or give a chance to know'em!

So I suppose you've done a heroic thing, by stepping outside the box,
your words, they flow and they dance, they trot just as the fox.
I will not ask for what does the fox speaketh to you,
I'm just saying, you've done well my friend, I sincerely mean it, I do.

Now off with you then. Time to fire up your kindled fire,
let the world know, of what you really, truly, desire!
You've got a world to conquer, not by sticks nor by stone,
but by the blood of your body, and the spirit in your bone!
So go on, tally **! Charge on unto the breach,
the little man lacks the voice, so its time for you to teach!
God bless you, your face which I may never meet,
God bless the things you do, and may you always stand upon two feet!
Whoop! Go get'em folks!

A Mistake?
Nomad Apr 2014
A mistake?
You believe I've made one? Hmm, come with me and we shall see.
You believe I've mistaken you for someone else, that once was that person I once knew?
That's what you believe, do you?
And why's this, that after all these years that I would change my mind,
just to come over and "waste" my time?
I dare say my friend, you've got it all wrong,
for you see I'm here for you because it's been so long!
Let's get to know each other, see how much things have changed,
and what, I wonder, had survived and stayed the same?

I won't love you any less, or hate you anymore,
I'll just be a little disappointed when I come knocking on your door.
Don't tell me I'm mistaken, for the person I know you still are,
Well even if they're on holiday, they couldn't have gone too far.
So let me again hold your hand dear friend,
and let me tell you of the times, follow along now, or just pretend.
One day even after we meet and part ways, so sad,
One day you'll look up and think, of that friend, so glad!

I'm not your shadow, no I've a life to live too,
but just don't think, not for a blasted moment!, that I've made a mistake,
befriending,
you.
We might not talk much. Doesn't mean we don't.
We might not see each other as often as we like. Doesn't mean we won't.

I Dare (not)
Nomad Apr 2014
I hear you, I see you,
but I dare not say to you.
"Hey. I love you."
It's so simple, but it never really is.
So I stand here at the corner of happy and healthy, waiting for...you.
Sketchy.
Oops.
Let's try this again.
I hear you, I see you,
but I dare not say to you,
what is really beating in my heart, and what echos in my head.
I talk to you and I stutter,
you leave the room, and I begin to shudder.
You're the color in my world, the music, the life,
because I'm looking for not a fling, but really for a wife.
If that kind of commitment really scares you,
I won't apologize for what is true.
Because now that you (don't) know about how I really feel, inside my soul
I have a hole here now, from the heart you just stole.

Okay too cheesy? Let's put it this way.
Simple and Clear.
Be mine forever, to cherish and to hold,
in sickness and in health,
until death do we never part,
because I'll chase you up to heaven,
because you'll still tease me with my heart.

One day, I'll share with you all of these, as quirky as they may be.
But one day I'll build the nerve to ask you, to always stay with me.

Hair Down, Chin up!
Nomad Apr 2014
Hair down, chin up!
That's what I ask, that you don't give up!
To the girl crying inside the stall,
or the one that's overcompensating, shopping spree at the mall.
Hair down, chin up, for your sake not mine,
I want you to walk, in a great straight line.
Take no more deviations, off the path,
fill your world with love, and do not participate in it's reveling wrath!
I say to you, mother of 1, 2, 3, 5 or more,
do not ever, close your door.
Lock the front, guard the back, but listen mother, to your children today,
for you do not know, how much longer you or they, may stay.

To the lonely wife, and with a husband now gone for so long.
Hold on tight to his memories, and pray to make much more,
and to him and only him, should ever open the door.
Times will test you, trials will be hard,
and never ever ever, throw down the give-up card.
Because he'll need you more than ever, and I hope that you do know this,
that for ever day he's gone, he longs for 10 fold, for a kiss.

To the young girls around the age, of aging immaturity,
I plead to you to think it over, know when you are ready.
Perhaps you love him, with all your heart and soul,
but do not lose sight, of an average person's goal.
Love grows fonder when practiced with care,
you are young yet, and troubles have yet to begun, will either of you still stand there?

Perhaps this is a rambling of a senile old man,
or do I speak at least a modest truth, as simple as I can?
I'll let you decide as to where the story leads,
these are little food for thought, the thought that I feed.

Now look up, and around, soon as this song is done,
open your eyes anew, your story has just begun.
Where ever you go, whomever you're in the company of,
Hair Down, Chin up, and never ever, give up on love.

We the Few
Nomad Apr 2014
We the Few
stand below the many,
trampled, and beaten, pushed down, and forgotten.
We look up above and ask one thing, with what little pride left,
a tear in our eyes,
why?
Because they hate us? Because they can? Because they choose too? Because...we are few?

No more, not today, nor any more from now!
I say to you, to us! Rally up and throw up the banner, sound the battle-cry!
No more I say, no more! No more shall we have to live just to die!
Today is new, so must we be!
For we are the few, that the many must see!
We'll call up the cry in the name of peace and justice for all,
we shall then see, the righteous as it is, as justice stands blind and tall!
Let the Liberty Bell Ring, for you and me!
Let us, The Proud and Few!, Let us finally be free!
Let me a-test to you, my fellow brothers and sisters, alone no longer we stand!
For together we cry, hear our voices!, together hand-in-hand!

But let us not be hypocritical, to even our oppressors,
for what better are we than them, if we treat them like our lessers?
So rally the troops, raise high the banner, sound the horns all-round,
let each and every voice, sing high and low, the freedom sound.
The tyrants shall fall, given time,  and through the trials that'll be,
for we shall make our names known, of the Few...that is We.

Try Again!
Nomad Mar 2014
Try Again!
Don't give up!
Never surrender!
And Wash up for Sup!
Never forget, always remember!
These are the words you hear, every September!
What ever is told, you're told to keep,
But there's a song I hear about waking him after his sleep.
They'll push you down, cause you let down your guard,
you get back up and fight twice as hard.
They'll tell you that your goal isn't worth it,
well who is it that they should decide!
When things get tough, are you one to run and hide!?
Well?!....Okay maybe once and a while, sure, whatever, so what who cares!
Do something greater, deserving those stares!
Show them humility, can always topple pride!
Hehe that's the first step, and we've got a long ride.
Alright, feet on the ground, chin back up,
not to high, just keep your nose clean,
avoid the politics, you know what I mean?
Be ready for anything, but relaxed and calm,
Offer peace and smiles, but prepare for the qualm.

Alright you should be set for now,
but as for the rest, I don't know how.
C'mon get moving, shuffle your feet.
You better not stand there, or else you'll be beat.

Try again, again and again.
Never lose hope, and never give in.
Hey, it ain't as bad as it seems! C'mon. We've got a long road ahead.

A Fool's Fool
Nomad Mar 2014
A fool's fool, yes indeed I am!
A fool's fool, much bitter-sweeter than pickled, honey ham!
So call upon me, by my name thrice,
So call upon me, just be quieter than mice!
Let me announce, your vainglorious announcement,
Let me announce, of your one true commitment!
I'll entertain the guests
and you can play hostess!
A princess in the castle, Queen and her kingdom,
and the fool of a fool, known for his star-dumb.
Yes you wait for your shining armor,
yet tested mettle, so brand spanking new,
And there you stand waiting, for your feet to be swept from under you!
So let me pull, the rug from there,
soon you'll see your feet in the air!
Allow me, my sweet hostess,
allow me, to show you a mirror, and show you the mess.
Ah yes, you've been busy else where, your mind was forgetful,
you've failed to account to keep your guests' bellies all full.
Now here they come, they come charging at the door,
but wait oh wait! What's this? What **?
You small little jester, has yet one more show!
A trick up his sleeve perhaps? An ace in the hole?
No my dear lady, I'm afraid you've just lost sight of the goal.
But never fear! Away from here!
We'll try again,
and try again.
To raise ourselves back to the top,
and try not to turn out,
to turn out such a flop?
A jester as always jesting as always,
just a jester, nothing more, and a smile because, I get to see you at all my plays.

So a fool's fool indeed I am,
Not so innocent you and I, aren't we lamb?

To the Reader
Nomad Mar 2014
To the reader.
This shall be one of many-a letters to come,
this is to you, the happy, the sad, the awesome, the glum.
I do request, ever formally so, that you embark with me on a small adventure,
away, away, so far away we'll go.
Where you ask? Well it's not to far, but it really quite is, but where indeed,
don't ask me, I don't know!
Shall we go in search for treasures, spoils of wars long dead and forgotten?
Or shall we band together our merry men and women, to foil the villain!
Come away, come away! Oh reader imagine just imagine what we'll see,
Beautiful dreamer, won't you wake unto me?
There's a world so fantastic, just waiting to be found,
will we go in trumpets full a-toot, glorious and fantastic, or shall we sneak,
as to make not one sound?
Shall we find ourselves running from the Law?
Or shall we as friends, stand and fight the enemy, use shock! Make Awe!
I do say my reader, the sun is quite high,
surely this can't be our final goodbye?
Quite possibly we'll depart for a moment (or two!)
But as for me, well I'll just wait here. That's what I'll do!
I'm your voice inside your head, you silly little goose.
Now open up imaginations, and let your fingers type, set me loose!

Ah, I see you've stumbled upon a work of mine,
shall we be brothers, or sisters in arms? Or shall you be more, then, a gal so fine.
I respect your wishes, and follow your command.
But do not assume that your voice will accomplish, all you demand.
I'm not unreasonable, I'm not as unsightly,
but you'll see now that my morals are mighty.
So will this be a romance, or more of...
a tragedy?

So reader I dare say, I've really taken you away.
I promised you didn't I to take you there,
but oh dear, it seems, you've not moved anywhere!
Have you forgotten what time has passed?
Are you completely convinced? This wasn't half-fast?
So reader I must say my adieu's,
but fret not, for here I shall wait.
Wait.
For.
You.
Haha...get it?
Anyway. Hope you enjoyed it. Promises made are promises kept.

Windy Ain't It?
Nomad Mar 2014
Sure is rough out tonight,
sure is a long way, from being "alright".
So let me help you just wind on down,
I know you've been busy, comin' home from town.
Bills need paying, dryer needs fixin', and the kids drew all over the walls again.
Sorry 'bout that, but don't you worry none,
You can pay'em tomorrow, I'll get right fixed, and let the kids have fun.
Right now, kick off your heels, and out of your suit,
I promise, lil' Clara ain't breakin' your flute (not yet).
C'mon down with me, to the living room.
Here's our porch that's lookin' in, hey c'mon now and smile, no cause for doom.
Yeah sure, maybe I burnt the cake again, I blame it on the timer,
heck forget the cookin', we'll order from Dave, at that cook-out diner.
It's story time again, keep the kids busy, while I make the call,
now don't you worry none, I promise it won't take no time at all.
There's that smile,
I've been waiting so long.
And here's that tune on the radio, that I think ain't a song.
Sure beat me up, you say it alot, tell the town,
but ain't you happy now, you're windin' down?
Sun's comin' out again, there you are my good ol' pal,
guess the winds died out, wouldn't say, ol' gal?
Nomad Mar 2014
Forever.
Forever and a day.
That's what I'll always say.
Don't worry I won't change it, no way, no how because
I haven't then, why would I now?
But I must ask you, and you alone,
because I'm inviting you in and I'm letting myself go,
to call one another
to each, our own.
So let me ask, I know I shouldn't, are you right?
Am I the one you want to be with, for forever and a day?
To hold and to cherish, to do just as we say?
Because Forever is a while, believe me, I'm sweating (ugh),
because I want to know, just on what are we betting?
Is this a gamble, because we're so naive?
That one day it'll boil over, and one of us will just...leave?
You said to me once, "Why are you so committed, you and your ****** loyalty."
"Quite frankly my dear," I said with a pause, "Because I don't want you to ever be lonely."
So think a while about our small promise to each other, when we were young and free.
Will you, and are you, ready to spend forever...
with me?

The House Upon the Hill
Nomad Mar 2014
This is a poem. Of a house on the hill.
No I never lived there. No not even once.
But I've always wondered what'd it be like to be to live
on that house upon the hill.
To sit there on the front porch, and watch the grass grow tall,
just like the children with each coming season;
winter, spring, summer and fall.
Give me some time, that's all I ask.
And I'll get you that house upon the hill,
if that was my final task.
Because for you, I'd build a village, and name it in your honor.
Only if that's your will.
But as for me, I'll be content. To just have you, here with me,
in that house.
That little old house.
Up.
Upon that hill.

Fight!
Nomad Mar 2014
Let's fight!
Together as one
or we fall back to none!
Let's fight together
let's stand side-by-side!
Nothing shall stop us!
No one will break us!
Let's fight together,
One for all and all for one!
Yield to nothing and no one!

Fight!

For your mothers, your fathers,
sisters and brothers!
Exact the toll so great upon our foe,
let out a scream a mighty battle cry that only a true warrior would know!
Take no peace in your solitude,
and fortify your fortitude,
it's time to fight, we'll wait no more!
It's time we took it to our old foe's door!
The ones that oppress us, the ones that would deny us,
deny us no more for here come charging mightily,
for we will fight with the absolution of the Light brigade,
but never to falter,
no not ever slightly.

We'll take a beating, this holds true,
but we're never alone, in our ranks and files, we'll always have,
our sisters and brothers!
Link arms, bear arms take courage and gather what little pride we've left,
This fight's for you, me, and all the the others!

Fight and let your voice be heard,
for our rebellions shall start,
at the shout of a single word.

The small little spark,
our one little light,
So take up arms,
And Fight!
Inspire yourself to greatness.

Worth
Nomad Mar 2014
You
You are,
Worth the wait
the fight, the tears, the blood, the sweat,
my confessor of my fears.
Your smile
your grace!
Every little thing about your face,
you share with me,
lucky me, when we're alone.
You make me nervous, happy with delight,
you make my blood bubble and boil, ready for a fight,
but you hear my heart, that is beating fast,
when I love you each day, like each day,
our last.
So let me tell you,
just once more a-time.
That you are worth it all, more than words can describe in this rhyme.
So stand by me, and speak ever slowly,
that it takes us forever and a day, all up and beyond eternity.
Give me that time, to know one another,
hand in hand we go, as friends,
as lovers.
Nomad Mar 2014
I doubt you've heard of me.
I doubt you ever will.
I doubt you'll ever think of me,
while you read this still!
So here's to our doubts, the ones we have,
(so many)
if we paid for all our thoughts,
we'll need much more than pennies.
Give to me your cares and your wishes,
bestow upon me your love.
Grace me with your graceful presence,
and know that it's you I'm thinking of!
So let me tell you one thing,
if anything is true.
It's just that.
I truly and verily much so
Love...
You.

A Question & 20 Seconds
Nomad Mar 2014
Will you be mine?
They said take 20 second of courage, and try it out,
they said take a risk, make the jump
so they yell, so they shout.
Will you hold my hand?
You say you’re hands are cold
and you always want them warmed by me,
so hold my hand
put your hand on my heart, and feel the beat.

Will you dance with me?
May I have this dance, the dance with you and you alone,
I have never felt such joy, such exhilaration, such jubilance
I felt love, right down to the bone.

Will you be mine?
I’ve asked it once, and I’ll ask you again,
I love you this much and more
will you be mine, from now to the end?
If not, then no pressure, we can call each other
just friends.

My Friend, Lover, and Life
Nomad Mar 2014
My friend, my keeper, my lover, my one and only in my life,
you appeared, like an angel from heaven, you came from above and eased my strife.
You’ve kept the monster in me at bay, and brought back the good in me,
you’re my friend, and my keeper, for this I shout to the world with glee.
You took my hand and stole my heart,
with a wink of an eye, the way you laugh, I wish us never to part.
You can not possibly know what you have done for me, the healing to this battered soul.
Before you came, was an ache, for a heart I longed for, to fill this empty hole.
The stormy seas, the wind that howled,
it had me in it’s grasp and my mind perverse and befouled.
But your beauty shown through, calmed the seas, quieted the breeze,
for years I’ve fought with my demons, yet you came and ruled them with ease.
You have set my soul, my body, and mind, you’ve set it all free,
I’m so lucky, that you were made for me.
From the seas we sail, to the ground we walk, with your love, with your love let us soar.
So I ask of you, my lover, my life, stay with me forever and ever.
Forever More.

To my Dear
Nomad Mar 2014
To my dear, my love, and my life,
to the girl that I hope, will one day be my wife.
‘Tis Valentine’s day again, and I answer the call,
I present to you, pure and simple, my heart all in all.
Look well my dear, and hear it’s drumming,
it sings a song, a love song for you, for you it is humming.
I’ve kept this aside, for you my dear,
because when I’m with you, with you I have no fear.
I walk chest out and chin up, because I’m a lucky *******, that I am,
I have you and you have me, anyone else I could give a ****.
‘Scuse my language, I know you hate it so,
But I think it’s about time I showed the world how far our love can go.
Through the stretch of time and space, out to eternity,
God knew, it had to be just you, just you for me.
He sent you down, to meet me here,
My skies were dark, cloudy and all, yet you came with the sun and made it clear.
Your eyes shown, they pierced through it all, the gloom and doom.
You danced into my life and then it was just you and me, dancing in that room.
You led my feet, you held my hand, you kept my eyes, you heard my cry,
you told me to stay and I did, where you went so did I,
where I went there you were, right by my side.
I’m so lucky to have you, here in my life,
so here’s to the girl that I hope, will one day be my wife.

Mascots of My Life
Nomad Mar 2014
A Challenger, Challenging everything,
because everything was a challenge.
A goal was set, I continue to try to reach, do what I must to get there,
to over look one small thing.
And blow it all up.
The plans, they’re building, higher and higher,
higher they climb.
The higher they climb the harder they fall.
Fall, fall, falling they came down.
Nothing left.
Spartan was I, an old Spartan I am,
My shield is still on,
but my head is painted upon it.
For I hold, I hold my ground until the very end.
The very end I shall hold with my dying breath,
I shall not waver, in strength, courage, spirit, truth, loyalty…
What is loyalty? This question is asked when one can no longer trust his fellow
man.
I was a Spartan, my head upon my shield, and my shield up, as the rain of arrows and the trumpets of death may sound, I will not yield.
A Bulldog, an ugly creature, short, stocky,
yet ferocious in their fights, they show no emotion,
and their loyalty, unquestioning.
Their bite speaks louder than their bark.
Now I’m here, I hear,
Throw me a bone,
put me in the ring,
put up the lights,
watch me fight.
You see,
for
I am.
A Challenger, reaching for the stars
A Spartan, who held his ground.
A Bulldog, waiting for his next order.
These Are
the Mascots of my life.

Nomad Mar 2014
The Friends I've gained
And their trust I've lost
Their past I've stained
And at what cost?
It’s hard to believe they’re still here
Although I’m not the worst.
Second to family, they’re all I hold dear
IF they were to leave, I’m afraid my heart would burst.
There was another writing that I do remember.
*“Don’t stand in front of me
Because I might not follow.
Don’t stand behind me
Because I might not lead.
Just stand beside me and be my friend.
Would you?
To the very end?”

Friend, you say.
Will you stay?

Lover of my heart, there are no words for me to start.
Lover, I love you so, through happiness and woe.
Lover, I say to you, I say again
Will you be mine to the very end?

Child, sit down and talk to me.
Help me understand what you see.
Child, a perfect parent I’ll accept I am not.
But don’t put yourself away to rot.
Child you are not without mistakes,
Child you must learn if you give, they will take.
Let this lesson, child, always you learn be
Whatever happens, you will always have a family.

Stand, Child.
Nomad Mar 2014
Once a day,
we go to say.
"Hey."
Once upon,
a long long time,
we gave our friend our only dime.
Today we are,
but mere mortals of our sins.
We've corrupted our child,
the one we hide within.

No more, No more!
I say to this day.
No more, no more
I shall take my stand!
I shall join my friends, under the splendid sun,
together, hand in hand.

Together! Together!
Shall be the cry!
No more shall we work just to die.
Now we shall enjoy the finer things in life,
before we have lost it all, to trials and strife.

Child in me, such woe has he.
Let this be no more a plea to you,
then it is a question for forgiveness, only to me.

So let it happen that whatever may come, in fury and storm,
let it be that should it come by words or by stone.
Let it be known, that I will never
ever.
Ever stand alone.
