When you feel
like you want to scream,
or run away,
like you want to disappear,
or when you feel completely lost,
all you really want is to be found.

By Lady R.F. (C)2017
you can only
imagine my kiss,

i am a mirage,
the glossy night
blown into
stars,

i am a phantasm
in the autumn frost,

layered like
the night’s soft
cloud,
a stream of
golden leaves
crisp in the quiet
air,

i drown in the
water of the stars

i faint, a ghostly
apparition
you can
hardly
sense in
the dream-like
surrender of
our love,
arousing our
limbs,
kisses like
the flowers of time.

My wings don't open
when it is time to fly

My hands shiver
before even I try

My mouth stutters
before I can explain why

My head shuts down
as I blink my eyes

I have aged
still I want to cry

nothing works fine
this piece is faulty

there is something seriously
wrong with me.
If your sky is grey
let me paint it blue,
if you need love
I’ll love you.

If your heart is broken
I’ll wrap you in my wings,
I’ll sing a sweet song
reassurance it will bring.

If you need a friend
I’m always there,
I’ll pick the stars
and place them in your hair.

When you feel alone
don’t be afraid to call,
for I’ll always catch you
if you stumble and fall.

If you’re sad and blue
just remember,
I’m your friend
I’ll always love you!

Moving past the shuttered mind
that shuns imagination
I seek a stimulating thought
a cause for exhultation.
It hovers there
like hummingbirds
whose entry I deny.
And yet
I see the imagery
and heave a heartfelt sigh.
It teases me
and mocks me
as it dodges
every grasp
Laughing at my efforts
to retrieve it
with each clasp.
Yet empty air is my reward.
My snares are all in vain.
I close my eyes and meditate
for inspiration's gain.
An empty net
a vacant trap
the target still eludes.
Perhaps tomorrow
try again
away from darker moods.
In a meadow of wilted flowers,
I thought I was the only rose.
Standing out with my bright red petals, with a beautiful green stem.
A rose that would captivate you.
One that would make you only pay attention to me.

But you weren’t paying attention to me.
You danced through the meadow of wilted flowers, and I had thought you were here to pick me up.
To love me.

You trampled upon my beautiful petals.
Leaving my stem folded in two,
With my beautiful red petals crumpled and scattered.

To you, I was just as bad as a wilted flower.
With my thorns only pricking fingers.
My thorns that had only hurt you.
My thorns that were a bother.
My thorns that you despised.
My thorns that burdened you.

With the image of your crimson red blood running down your fingers popping through your mind when you thought of claiming me.

And eventually, you left me.
Running past the wilted flowers,
Trampling me.

You embraced something else.
Someone else.
A girl,
With much more beauty.
A girl who gave you more.
Who loved you more.
Who wouldn’t hurt you.

And perhaps this was for the best.
Because you wanted something as beautiful as a rose.

While you had two options.
It wasn’t hard for you to choose.
My petals were scattered around the green grass,
A brown color starting to come invade the beautiful red.

And slowly, with each day you never came to me.
My heart broke a little more.
And a petal fell with each crack in my heart.

She had the beautiful crimson red petals that continued to bloom ever so beautifully.

But all I had left to offer were thorns.
And slowly, my beauty faded.

Along with my heart.
