Last time I stood in this spot
I was sixteen, naive, and alone
And although it has only been three years
I am surprised at how much I've grown.

I do not blame you anymore
Nor hold resentment inside
For the things you have done to hurt me
What held me down I cast aside.

Been to many places now
I have seen both the dark and light
Watched the struggle between good and evil
Battles of wrong versus right.

We can wrestle our inner demons
Hoping someday to conquer and win
But we are too weak, I rarely see humans
Pick purity over sweet sin.
That is true strength, doing the right thing when it would be a lot easier to do the wrong one. Oh, and this was written March of 2014 if you are confused about the age mentioned haha.

Come on peeps, do what they say!
Please slow down when driving in the rain.

Do not speed in the rain! Don't leave yourself open to aquaplane.

The car lies crumpled on the side, you are all crumpled on the inside!
Death looms at your door, all because of the Zest for more!

More Speed, More Haste, More Accidents, More Waste!

Waste of your lives that are no more, leaving your family destroyed and bereft.
Crying tears that will never subside, dull and aching on the inside.
Without you, they are living a life of make do,  learning to live life anew, a life of pain without you!

Wake Up, Slow Down, especially in the rain.
Don't let yourself be a victim of an aquaplane.
Nasty accident on the road this morning, really heavy rain, road very wet and slippery. The car was a wrangled mess. Thankfully the driver had a lucky escape and had no serious injuries and no other cars involved but it was due to lost control in the weather

Dozens of days
still can't remember
my name

but you know it don't you?

gender is such a distraction
I can see the temptation
the relative ease
not having one

but I'm a woman
what a woman

disgraced and redeemed
over and over

desire and dismissal
obsession and obstetrics

cowered before villains
an army of millions marching behind me

told the plain truth
lying with only my smile

tripping over my words
in a stream of pure eloquence
there's  nothing left for me
but to be burned as a witch

cackling as the flames
flicker against my feet
a phoenix
