Oh yea...
and then there's me
These are just a few of the things that lean
On the lamp post of my dreams
I'm a poet but you make me feel mute
All I can do is kiss you and call you cute
I write pathetic lines of prose
Exhausted metaphors, the sun, a rose
But all you have to do is drive
Take me home, you took me home last night
And started talking as if you had rehearsed
A speech unlike any I had heard
You smiled and laughed and hardly looked at me
Sitting there appalled in the passenger seat

You said you were in love so intimately - so out there, but in there - how beautiful it is to love me the way you do, to know me so well, so deeply, everything about me -
without even having to touch me. And that is so out there, but in there

You must've felt silly
But the tears in my eyes
Replaced any words in my mouth
And you knew -
I feel the same
Reflected by the mountain stream Have the cherubs gone over the skies, When the evening came I was all things and Now when I walk out alone from the mist, long after

the embers kept us warm When you came leading me out, When did I lose you?

my calm warm shoulder. I roll over in the biting cold for will you believe me? we walked in snow I see the early moon, silent and poignant.

If I say mon nom In my sleep searching,

Who are you? The chorus;
Who am I? I was what you said I was. Soliloquy.
The stars are rising for their dusk-dance in my eyes.

I was love, I was a mother, drawing crimson curtains to play in the park? The corners, they are all empty and faint in the mists.

I see only a shadow's arm around me - I was a teacher. clasped clad in love that others said I was.

Now, gone, none my datum and reference.

Have you gone for a stroll my love? celestial light, I walked deeper into the night, away from your green-golden presence.

Deliberate use of disjointed Surrealist constructions. Here to convey a haunting mood, I've used what I call the 'spider method' - a question spawns several inter-linked chains of thoughts none of which fully answers it; having spawned them, the question sits in the center, alive, and still pulsating with life. It can take any of the directions;

.
We were one and couldn't be separated
we got lost in each other's eyes
we were wild dancers,
silent lovers who were yet to love

Now like a ghost you see me not
the promises we made broken
I kept my end as much as I can
but my admiration of you faded away

When you're not around I feel light but long for your presence
when your there I feel heavy and wish for you to notice me
talk to me
laugh with me
smile like we used to before

Is it true?
Were you in love or was it all just emotions
were we,
was I?

open your eyes
I'm tired of waiting for you to call my name the way you once did
like it brought you joy just by the sound of it
I'm tired of pretending that I don't know what you really wanted

I'm tired of holding my hand out to you in spite of everything
yes, I'm tired of gazing at your back 'cause you no longer show me your face.

But I know you too well
forget me today
tomorrow tell me you miss me
yet you dare not hear my voice

You're an amazing liar
but I dare not fall for your tricks.
I shall always be here if you need me
I'll always have a special hand to catch you
because I forgive you

but I have a life and I'm moving on
I wasn't meant for you
neither you for me
there's something you're hiding and I'll soon find out
but I lost the drive to seek your silent words.

Dare I move on
dare I smile till my seemingly absence in your presence becomes nothing but a bad memory,
I'm here for you
but I have to go soon
and I know that day what is to come is near!

I live watching ahead
while you live for today
if only you knew what I did you'd make today last
be my friend when you have the chance

I know that there are tears to come
and I await the day patiently
when you loose your heart cold shell
and realize that you had a lot-
that you're not getting back

I dare to still call you my friend
I dare to still acknowledge you as a good person who just made a mistake
I dare to live the way I was meant to
Dare you?
#to that friend
I'm not.
Stop assuming I am.
I'm waiting for you.
I'm waiting here for you.
I know you will return.
You can't get lost.
The door is always open for you.
You will be back like you have before.
I'm waiting for you. My puppy dog!
Here you come just a running . a little short legged puppy dog.
I open my arms and there you jump.
With kiss and a big lick
Now i'm not waiting for you .just the whole neighborhood.
Puppies and more puppies.
