Tending the lawn
     the dandelions
the wiregrass
     growing wild
in my front yard,
     is so cathartic.
Raking pine straw
      sharp as a ginsu knife
barefoot,
      is not.
Into the fire on my own,
I know I won't see your face again,
Are you sitting there alone?
Are you thinking like me
of the laughing times,
of all the sad and loving times?
Everything that's left of us
is fading away
Promise me to think of us
as a time so wonderful
Promise me to think of us
still bright, still colorful
Promise me to look back at us
as a time in your life you enjoyed
Can you promise me?
promise me, promise me....
The match worth nothing
would not light a candle but
fuelled a revolution none the less
- turned out it wasn't nothing
after all.
Your soul bleeds pages
Swimming in your words of truth
I found my own heart

In response to Penmanship by Quinfinn
She* was never a mistake like the others
She was the answer to all the questions my wandering mind could present
but
She never answered the question  that my heart asked
**"Could you ever love a guy like me?"
Some questions are best left unanswered.
I saw the words on a page
And read their joy
Their hope
Their heart

I saw the words on a page
And it ripped my world apart

I saw the words on a page
Penned before my heart was yours

I saw the words on a page
Of how your love for her endures

I saw the words on a page
Kept with all your special things

I saw the words on a page
Read dreams of wedding rings

I saw the words on a page
Of a dream you never spoke

I saw the words on a page
They made my own begin to choke

I saw the words on a page
Of a time when love was true

I saw the words on a page
And read what she means to you

I saw the words on a page
You claim love never dies

I saw the words on a page
Now I see it in your eyes

I saw the words on a page
You know my hearts allure

I saw the words on a page
I know that she holds yours

I saw the words on a page
I see what you can't deny

I saw the words on a page
Your love for me belied

I saw the words on a page
And read their joy
Their hope
Their heart

I saw the words on a page
And it ripped my world apart

I saw the words

my poems aren't a pastime
they're a way to state
my emotions, and past crimes
and ally my boiling hate

my emotion can't be bottled
i'd be stared at like a big ***
so i decided to be a model
to those who renege fast

i want people to learn from my transgressions
or at least have a sense of pride
be a symbol of progression
and if not i can still say i tried.

my poems aspire to be a cashier and make change
and to mold meek, mindless minds
so nothing will be out of their range
so just know my poetry is of this kind
