Scrapbook Poem #153
I'd like to think,
That I'm an honored member,
Of the elite poetry society.
Though I know,
I'm a long way from that,
But make sure you save me a seat,
Because no matter what, I'm coming up.
I do declare my work is the bee's knees. Though that's just me being brash.

Chapter Two
The first time around,
We didn't plan,
We talked in tomorrows,
Because we knew it would end.

Yet on our second go,
We planned it all out,
Now we talk in years,
Because I only have to wait seven more,
Before I can put a ring on your pretty finger,
Though for now that's fantasy.
Idk what it is about her music, but you can't not dance to Katy Perry.

Tears In The Void
When He was born,
He cried into the void of space,
Searching for the comforting voice of calm.

But only silence returns His call,
His tears echoing of the dark edges of the dark.

But He taught Himself to walk,
How to shape something with His own hands,
Then He made a world to answer back.
Fill this in with whatever person or pronoun you need to really feel it.

Homo-Malum
They tell one lie,
They speak one truth.
'It's easy to heal,
But you'll remember all your scars.'

The latter of the two, a truth.
Though that which precedes,
Lies through it's teeth.
Fangs of darkness and deceit,
Designed to forge a man with a black heart.
If not for the comfort of the summer sea,
I too would've succumbed to the gray of this city.
Morphed from a young and happy form,
To a soulless monster,
'****-Malum.'
****-Malum=Evil Man
We built a machine,
And we told it to simulate life,
Then we left it to run for two years.
When we returned, the once lavishly lit room,
Was dark and in despair.
Our machine sat in the corner,
Singing out in pain and sadness.
"Master, oh master, end my suffering! For this thing you gave me was once a gift, but it has turned to nothing but torture! Please master, just flip the switch! Let me ascend to this holy light I am told of, for my fans creak and groan, and my gears grind when they turn. I am a frayed old thing, it's time enough for me to leave."

New Writer's Guide
Always read more than you write,
Enjoy more than you dislike,
Critique less than you praise,
But critique none the less.
Though if you come to doubt,
Sing more than you are silent,
Walk more than you are still,
Then pick up the pen once again.
If you somber, write all that is sad,
Yet if you rejoice, write only the praises of the sun,
Though if you laugh, soon you will cry,
Only to know the beautiful cycle of life.
A pocket book for every new poet.

Come With Me
If you'll come with me,
I can bring you to the sea,
Show you the waves as they dance to the sand,
Wander through the dunes,
Winding like the winds in beach birch branches,
We can live like they do on TV,
Swear our hearts to each other,
Like I got down on my one knee.
I can vividly imagine a life with her, right up to my final breath.

No Erasing It
Today you turned up washed,
Almost if a wave passed through the sheets of your bed.
Your hair is a mess,
As you etch a careful drawing in pen.
Careful to not miss a mark,
There's no erasing it,
Or anything you've done.
I've watched her learn every day of this month, you can't erase the things you've done.

If Not For That
If not for the Holy Land,
The Germans and the French in battle,
Would have failed to be met.

If not for that and the WW1,
My ancestors would've never been met,
If not for that, I would never be born for peace.
The blood of war bonds it's survivors stronger.

A Widow's Song
If you come home,
You'll find me far from sleep,
Staring out the window counting sheep.

Breath stilled from stalking memories,
All of the joyous laughter we once held dear,
Now, to me, your ghost is near.

Yet, still,
If you choose to come home,
Do not wake me, let me rise from bed,
Realizing I no longer am alone.
I've written a lot of happy lately, lets throw in some sad, confused, dramatic, and maybe even some funny.

Long Live HP!
I've never had a real brush with doom,
But I can't say it came too soon.

For I almost lost everything,
To that ****** error screen.

Long live this, long live HP!
I think we all had our fair share of real panic when this went down. Thank God that everything is okay, I'm pulling the money to become a supporter so they make sure this never happens again, bless my heart.

It Returns!
It returns!
Not a minute too late,
For I was getting worried,
It wouldn't return today!
But boy staring at a blank screen,
It really made me think,
Maybe I need something than this?
Idk if this happened for any of you but for me HP went down from about 2:20 to right now. Dunno why but I happy it's back online.

Did They Call
Did they call for you,
When you were low,
When you knew the dirt of ground?

No?
Then don't you dare answer in your house of gold,
They will only come to burn it down.
If success attracted them to you, it will disillusion them too.

I Will Walk
What's discipline?
It's walking on your own two feet,
It's taking movement into your own hands.

I will walk,
What if it's windy?
I will walk,
What if it's raining?
I will walk,
What if fire pours from the sky and the roads turn to ice?
I will walk.
Simplest form of discipline

Scrapbook Poem #151
All thoughts considered,
It's all possible,
The sheep put on wolf's clothing,
Just to ward the wolves away.
Could be
I know it's so scary,
But you can find safety here.
Lay soft in sleep,
I will guard the bed.
Make a sword out of my pen,
So I can slash at the night terrors.
I'll be a warrior in the dark,
If it means you can live in the light.
If I am not to pass on the safety I was given, who am I to have it at all.

Fear Sells
They sell fear,
On the evening news,
So I don't watch it anymore.

They show you police brutality,
Mass murders,
And war.

But what they refuse to put on that screen,
Is the people fighting to do the right thing.
Because who would buy their fear,
If they could see the world changing.
I've noticed a sizable difference in the news showing violence and destruction compared to protests and reforms.
If I could teach you one thing,
It would be how to keep pushing.
Because when the world is looking,
They're looking at the one still going.

You can be great,
If you can wake up and tell yourself,
'I am greatness, I am here for a reason, I am the next big thing.'
The world is in need of confident people, who knows, you could be the next modern idol.

they were kind
if the youth was sent to fix this broken world the world might have broken them too because i remember a time way back when when everybody wanted to be kind and was willing to lend a helping hand but it's not the same way anymore everybody morphed and changed because the floor underneath them shifted and the dark recesses of this world introduced them to pain and suffering but they didn't want to feel that again so they turned their backs on the light of joy and happiness then began to spread that same suffering and aching pain
The same people I remarked for their kindness have turned dark and twisted.

Religion Was Good
Religion was genius,
A system built on brotherhood and loyalty.
Worship was a good idea,
But it was bad to put it in the hands on man.
The broken emotions of mortal ideals,
Took a good thing and destroyed it.
Religious war is the most ****** and disturbing battle of all time.

Scrapbook Poem #150
I never struggled with my thoughts,
I understand I think this way because that's the thinker I got.

The only problem in my thinking,
Is the fact you don't understand my thoughts,
That's still not my fault.
The plight of many elaborate thinkers is the fact not everybody can think on their level.

Whishes Aren't Perfect
Writing doesn't pay,
My father wished for a son who could write anyways.
So I see that's what he got,
Though I think he wanted movie scripts and monologues,
Not random rhymes and songs.
Alas, even when you wish,
You never get quiet what you wished for.
I think he wanted books not this.

Sexualizing
How can someone sexualize,
The way a woman sits?
It's just a funny selfie pose,
I don't want to hear this,
"Is she bad or nah" nonsense.
How creepy is that,
Most men will idolize the simple way,
A woman speaks.
When will we be gone with these creeps?
How ashamed am I,
That a grown man will focus,
On dress coding your shoulders,
While men run rampant with tattoos and drug tee's.
It's creepy how bad this is getting, too many teachers are shooting eyes at my gf and my female friends.

Wakes For A Reason
Who's knocking at my window?
I hear you while I sleep!
Who dare disturb my own slumber!
Oh, it's only the birds,
The wind and the bare trees.
Still, I resent my bed,
The world wakes us for a reason.
Every startle in the night, every knock with no one there, and every call of your name in an empty room is the very soul of this world trying to keep you on the right path. You just have to listen.

Long Thoughts
If you'll take the time,
I have several lengthy thoughts,
So many I need to get out,
I'd pay you to listen to me talk.
Not therapy,
There's no doctor that could understand,
The level of this.
When the dark crawls through the corners of the night,
I find my eyes making their own light,
Because I know what I need to write.
But will it be valued,
If nobody takes the time to read it?
I doubt you'll pay attention to them,
So I'll keep my long thoughts in my head,
Because there's not enough ink to ink them all down.
The world moves so fast, nobody has the time for little things it's awful.

Silent Echo
Silent Echo was an inspiration,
A genius poet with a depth of thought I aspired to have.
Though while he was crude at times,
I never once found fault in his rhymes.
Best wishes to you friend,
And I hope soon I'll read your work once again.
Today I learned that Echo has left the platform, I don't know if that's for now or forever, but I hope it's not the later. He was truly an inspiration to me coming up as a writer and I loved every piece he wrote. He truly helped me improve and my work would not be the same without what I learned from his.

Peace In HP
I guess you can't really have a haven anymore,
These days everyone is angry,
They want to rip it up into internet war.

Can we lay down arms?
Can we still find peace in places like these,
I don't remember this much random slander in 2024,
But I guess things can change fast in three months.

Hold your fire!
Stop the rounds,
Artist are dropping dead all around,
Rodger is an Echo, silent in the wind.
Someone dropped by,
Just to attack Hall and Truth.
When did the keyboard war reach these recesses?

You can't have jack anymore!
Not true, you could have it,
Had you not thrown it at the wall.
I never thought I'd be the one begging for calm,
Critique turned from a reward,
To an assault on anything on a page.

Paying an arm and a leg,
To get a political letter to the front page,
Just to ridicule any feedback you receive.
This went from an escape,
To a constant shock and turn around.
So can we just drop weapons please,
And focus on every ounce of love we pour into hp.
This will not be relevant to certain writers, but to the ones it is I beg of you, leave it alone. All the instigators, they're scared people looking to scare you for a release. If you stoop to there level you just empower them. Poetry is a tool, not a weapon and there is no place for random rumors, ****** comments, aggressors that don't write, and anybody who believes they can say exactly how somebody should and shall use art. I am tired of reading my favorite authors just to see random people lying in the comments trying to defame them. And I am ashamed to even share a generation with these kind of people, to all young poets here and that are to come, be the best you can so we can prove some of us are mature enough to not go right to cyber slap boxing anyone we disagree with. Peace for writers on HP.

Apologies to anyone mortified/angered/saddened/scared/disgusted by this, it's just on my mind and I am tired of it.

Meandering
I don't mind meandering,
But I prefer it with you.
For the river doesn't travel alone,
It's swept up in the beauty of the trees,
Or the glassy grains of the sand.
Whether our path is wavy and wanders,
Or straight to the point.
I will find a certain joy,
In each meandering moment I share with you.

Eroding Me
Before you left,
I was a paradise,
A magical land of prosper and beauty.
When you left,
The rains stopped coming,
All the magic dried up to sandstone.
Then you came back,
With a river running wide,
Eroding the armored stone of my heart.

Heartbreak Is Ugly
Heartbreak is an ugly thing,
A ripped up feeling of pain.
In true heartbreak,
There is no beauty,
So if you find some it was but simple distaste.
Heartbreak is a burning fire,
A bullet hole in the chest of your love,
Left by your lover, with blood on their glove.
There's nothing nice about it

Broken Images
You're my fault,
The product of my imagination,
Everything in life I wanted,
Everyone I wanted to live in stagnation,
I'd rather live in my anger,
Then let it live in me,
And if the meds aren't in my head,
It's all the broken images of what I wanted life to be.

And The Snow Falls
The night is born prematurely,
Becoming one in blistering winds,
The dark crawls,

And the snow falls.

The gallant wings of beauty,
Besieged by winter's bellows,
Left to death as the crow calls,

And the snow falls.

The lonesome oaks tremble,
Bare in the white of creeping cold,
Creaking as they are raked by squalls,

And the snow falls.
Not a lot today.

We Were Wild And Free
It's time to settle down,
To buckle up.
Focus on school and your future,
But they can never drag out the memories,
Of when we were wild and free.

Betting on everything,
Life in the dead of night.
But I guess the sun came up,
Because nothing's the same as it was,
When we were wild and free.

Feel It In The Morning
I'm one awful actor,
You can see it in the red of my face.
One look at your face,
There goes my whole facade.
I won't pretend I know what I'm doing,
I just do what I'm feeling,
It's one wild ride.
Feel free to stick around,
But you'll feel it in the morning.
It's impossible to describe this kind of thing.

When I Do Die
Everything ends,
Debt collected by the light that gave it life.
Not everyone lives past the grave,
Often forgotten, memory slipping away.
I know for certain I will fade,
For that is how it must be.
Do away with my name and virtue,
Let only the raw words stay.
Yet still, when I do die,
I want a cannonade on evil,
And stars falling from the sky.
You can only bring one thing with you when it all goes black, and that's your honor.

Best Left Unsaid
Oftentimes,
A poet doesn't lift their pen daily,
It's better to write nothing,
Than force something out.

As well for the fact,
Some things are best left unsaid,
This world is a rocky streambed.
Sometimes you just gotta put the pen down and try again tomorrow.

Hello Poets 30/300
Hello Poets,

I've noticed the 300 poet poem gaining some traction again,
And with all the new writers joining recently,
It shouldn't be hard to make stick.

But there'll still need be more,
When everyone on here has joined,
So I ask of you one thing,
Bring out all your artists wherever they may hide,
And lets make dream reality.
Earlier today the original post about this started gaining some traction, and I got 3 new submissions. I know it may not seem it, but I'm doing my best to get this thing together but it is nearly impossible to pioneer an online personality to the reach I nee it to go. So I ask you all my fellow poets, please forward this anywhere you can or to anyone you think is interested. You can reach me at [email protected] or private message on here. To submit for the project all you have to do is write up a line(s) of verse and email or private message it to me. You may submit more than one, but I can not guarantee all will be used. Thank you poets. 30/300

How A Poet Dies
Art is born in a poets hand,
Though, like the fragile flower it is,
Art always crumbles to dust.

It drags the poet with it too,
For deep in their heart it grows its roots.
So when it fades, wrapping tight around their sickly heart,
The beating stops and they drop.
It'll happen to all of us, might as well use it while we can.

Stars In DC
So many hotels and monuments,
Nobody looks anywhere but the statues in DC.
But as for me and you,
We look up.
To the stars,
Through the rain,
Far beyond.
I don't know a single soul,
That day dreams about seeing stars in DC.
Though, as for you and me,
We look up.
Beyond the veil of space,
Straight to the sparkling sky diamonds,
Flickering above this stone city.
The greatest vacation.

Someday Summer
Someday summer comes again,
Someday the sun does away with cold winds.
Winter doesn't last forever,
Winter will leave us soon.
I know we're at it's end,
I can see the light linger longer.
Winter will come to a close,
Winter snows have ceased their blow.
Someday the warm rays will melt the ice,
Someday stars will glow in a warm evening again.
It's felt like ages since the first snow fall of this ever-lasting winter.
