Hello Poetry
The only place,
My thoughts
Can roam free.

I have built a tower out of my fears
To protect me from harm.
I've built a blanket of my loneliness
To keep me warm at night

I don’t think love forgets.
I don’t think it disappears.
I don’t think you “fall out of love”.

I think love persists;
Love endures;
And I think our love for someone
Is etched into our souls.

At least that’s what I tell myself
As I walk down the grocery aisle
Hoping we’ll run into each other
And fall in love once again

I really miss what we never had

It'll all figure out
And it'll all make sense someday
But for now we will just have to
Keep on guessing.

I don't know how to be
Someone that you could love

It wasn't until
You were gone
That I realized
I think
I'm in love with you.

How do I get over you
When you're all I can think about?

My pen breaks through the paper
The burden of my words
too heavy for it to bear

I'm counting my losses
They are tallied on my skin
But that is not the worst of it
The worst is all within.

I guess it's truly over.
Everything's been said and done.
And it was a scary, winding roller coaster.
But the painful rush was really fun.

Don't be afraid
To colour outside of
The lines

You said you loved me,
But you were looking at her

I will change the world
One poem at a time.

They say every cloud has a silver lining,
I think that the moment I met you
Was the moment I found it.

Wrap yourself up
Nice and tight
So that you don't lose
Any of your broken
Pieces.

If you could see yourself
Through my eyes,
You would never again
Question your beauty.

Wonderful
Infuriating
Lovely
Lively

That night was flawless
And filled with magic.
I'm so glad I got to spend it
With you.

The bed feels so much colder
And the distance between us
Feels like miles instead of inches.

How did we get here?

You've got my whole heart
In your hands,
What you do now
Is up to you.

Never trust a wonderer who's too scared to ask why
Never trust a bird who's too afraid to fly.

I don't know what to say to you.
How to tell you that you make me feel
The way that you do.
So for now I will just smile.

One word that
breaks hearts,
Shatters worlds
Destroys lives.
One word that
Destroys dreams
And hopes of fairytales
One word.
One word
And it's all over.

Love is
Gentle
And caring
It's bittersweet  
It's magical.
But most of all
It's painful.

How can you expect anyone to love you
When you can't even love yourself?

Tell me how to forget about you
The same way you have forgotten
About me?

The question is never how,
But why?

He stripped down
All of the layers
Protecting my heart and soul
And then left.
I'm lost, scared
And I don't know what
To do.

My string snapped
On my guitar today.
I just looked at it
And walked away.

I always pay a little more attention
And give a little more love
To the weeds in flower gardens,
Because, like me,
They are the odd ones out.

It's such a shame when
You lose passion for something
That once made your eyes light up
And your soul smile

These words are borrowed.
They are not mine to keep,
That is why nothing I say
Feels personal
Or real.

I have a special relationship with poetry.
She is the friend I can stick in my pocket indefinitely
And when we meet again it’s like I never left.
She’s familiar, and comforting
And reminds me that she is the only thing
I know that I can count on
When everything goes to ****

It's the kind of sadness  
That shuts your throat,
That makes you feel sick.
It makes it hard to breathe
But you will survive.

I can't discern left
From right when
I'm with you,
How am I supposed to
Think straight?

Why am I trying so hard to provide my greatness
To someone with a mind so small
It couldn’t even dream of
comprehending all of me
Anyways

My world is falling apart
And no one seems to care.

I have this propensity
To never be satisfied.
I’m always wanting more
Starving for something
Though I’m not sure what it is

I'm trying to hold on to you
Instead of trying to hold onto me back,
You're slipping away

In my dreams you love me too.
In my dreams you never leave.
In my dreams we are happy together.
In reality you are
Gone.

Please tell me
I didn't make another
Mistake by loving
You.

How tragic it is
To continuously look for something
In a person who can never give it to you.
