In the dead of night
Our souls have been

Life is too short

A poet is an extraordinary thing
made entirely of feelings,
ink,
one too many thoughts
but not enough sentences.

In this storm I have become a raft.
I just go with the flow,
here to save you from drowning
when it becomes too hard to swim.

I hang on your every word
Your every breath
Every syllable
And hope that one day
You'll do the same to me

Please stay.
I promise I will get better
You don't know
How long I've fought these demons
And what they've done to me.
But when you're here
My demons seem
A little quieter
A little calmer.
And for a little while
I feel like I might actually
Get through this.
So please stay.

They always said that if you tried
Hard enough your dreams come true
But they forgot to mention
That nightmares are dreams too

It can hurt you
It can burn you
It can change you

You tried so hard to be a poet
But you became a poem

To let all of my love flow free
Would be to unleash a tempest
That I don't think anyone can handle
Quite yet
So I'll remain a single raindrop
In the storm of emotion
And shower you with my love

I never told anyone about us
So for now I'll just hide you away in my poetry

Don't tell me you know what it's like
until you can see everyone around you breathing
but your lungs are burning
from the lack of air.

Eyes wide,
face is blue
surrounded by air
I'm a parachute.

Their love was so simple
But it was killed
By their over thinking

Tell me all of your
Deepest
Darkest
secrets
And then I will prove to you
That you are still worth loving

If their lifestyle will grow old

Every molecule
Every part of me
Aches for you

How is it that
You have broken my heart
A thousand times over
Yet the sound of my name
Rolling off your tongue
Makes me weak in the knees?

How do I get over you
When you're all I can think about?

Your voice bounces off the walls
In a way that's so terrifying
The devil himself runs back to hell

Loving you is like drinking sweet wine
that's secretly laced with cyanide.
It's killing me slowly, softly, sweetly.
Oh so cruel but yet so easy.

Stupid girl, fairytale endings don't exist.

You stand at the top of the diving board
we all ask you to come down
but I've found that you can't save someone
who is convinced that they should drown.

I miss you like the desert misses the rain.
You are nothing but a mere whisper of a memory.

And I love you
The way that poets love 2 AM.
For they provide muse and memories otherwise forgotten.

I really miss what we never had

The other day
my mind had a hiccup
Memories of you
flashed before my eyes
And then vanished.
Barely there
But noticeable enough
To make my heart ache.

The other day you knocked me down
with your harsh words etched in stone
as I let the rocks cut into me
My thoughts screamed

I thought that I could turn you
Into a nice warm home
But it's only when I'm with you
That I feel truly alone

A beautiful soul

Sometimes the people
Whose souls shine the brightest
Are the ones that are that way because
Of the light reflecting off of
The sharp broken pieces
Of their heart.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I don't think that I

I am addicted to sadness
But I really need to let it go
But it's tied a brick to my foot
And it's pulling me into the darkness below.

I wonder if the reason
Stars are so powerful is because
They are made of our atoms,
We feel so many emotions,
All of those emotions in one place
Must cause a lot of power
Or maybe we are powerful because we
Are made of theirs

No this isn't what I pictured
When I talked to you last night
But it seems that I've lost everything
Because one single stupid fight.
Too many things were left unspoken
To many questions Floating in the air
Now there's so much damage
I don't think it can be repaired
Since then the clouds have rolled over
And with them comes the rain
And I'm hopeful that when it cleanses the earth
It will also cleanse me of my pain
And the rain may cleanse me of the blood
But the stab marks are still there
You took a knife to my chest
And you didn't even care
But I guess it's not only your fault
It is mine too
I knew in my head how this would end
I just hoped it wasn't true

I am nothing but a bottle
filled all the way to the top
just waiting for the flood inside me
to sweep me away.

Water rushes over her body and carries her away
on this dark and stormy day
and the birds they scream, and shout and cry
as she tells the world goodbye.

It was the blooming of madness
that destroyed us all
in the end.

shadows
dance
as
lights flash
and
the
music
plays.

I've always hated and feared one word
and that word's goodbye
but I'd forgotten what was so bad about it
but then you reminded me why.

You don't believe in fairytales
you don't believe in magic
and maybe that's the reason why
you think everything is tragic.
But if you lifted up your chin
and you looked up to the sky
you'd remember all the beauty
it's just hidden in disguise.
There is beauty in the light
there is beauty in the dark
there's still so much beauty in you
it just needs to be resparked.
So maybe if you started to believe
In things like Peter Pan and Wendy
maybe you'd begin to see
that life's still filled with magic and happy endings.

I've always been a thunderstorm
and you say you're not fairweather,
but darlin' why is it when I come around
you always panic for your umbrella?
