Follow the less worn path
To your dream destination,
Follow in the footsteps of
those who inspire you
who you want to be
where you want to be,
Copy what they did
Until you can blaze your own trail

To the barbed words
Catty comments
And sharp claws.
There is an alternative possibility
To the aggressive words
Constant fights
Hard lost battles
Born of fear,
And oh so tiring now.
I’m ready
To let my guard down
To reveal my vulnerability
To come home.

Put your claws away
Wipe your tears
Relax into the warm embrace
You are safe now

You tell me so,
But I don’t feel so
Lovely now.
A spell
Once broken,
Like a china cup
Smashed in a thousand pieces,
Can never be
Fully whole again

But then again
It’s the glaring imperfections
The deep wounds
That makes us lovable
And empowers us to dizzy heights
And make us
Who we are
And who we are destined
To be
