Pride is everywhere
Comes in many forms

The rich man is proud
of what he has
The poor man is honored for having less

The talented are proud of what they do
The less talented are proud of their hard work

The religious are proud of their religion
The unbeliever proud of his unbelief

The established man is proud of his social status
The counter-cultured proud to be outcast

The learned man proud of his intelligence
The simple man proud of his simplicity

If thre is a universal sin would not pride be the first

God hates the men of pride
He thinks they are the worst
You
I wish
The oxygen I breathe
Was shared with you.
Every breath intermingling,
Like God simply intended for us.

I find you
In every little thing I do,
In every song I sing,
Every word I write.

If I was any weaker,
I think I'd run far away from you,
Not out of hatred,
But out of fear
Because you're so perfect,
And I'm so damaged.
I don't want to ruin you.
Dear Shane, you will get well.
You have a long battle ahead.
Fight it with all your might.
Don't give up.

Look straight into the eye of death.
Tell it to go back.

Ask death to come -

when you are 100 years old,
when all your hair turns silver,
and all your teeth fall off.

That is when you will meet death, smiling.
We are with you. Keep on fighting.
Muddy children
kick up puddles.
Thirsty earth
drinks and sighs.

Tired mothers
Lean in doorways.
Some laugh
and others sigh.
I see you there,
hiding from the light.
Come, sit with me.
Let’s share this good night.

The glimmering stars
shine so bright.
Look up with me.
Let’s share this good night.

See the moon flicker
as it rises to its height.
Stay here with me.
Let’s share this good night.

Now the night has passed,
Soon the sun will rise bright.
Thank you for being here.
For sharing this good night.
Stop and look up.
Hiding my sorrow,
no one sees me there.
No one will notice—
I’ll hide my tears in my hair.

I watch and I wonder
if anyone cares.
No one will notice—
I’ll hide my face with my hair.

The world feels so empty,
and I’m lost in the air.
No one will notice—
but maybe… someone might care.
I noticed
Dear cancer, I am far from amused by your sorry excuse for invading me,
my body
YOU DO NOT HAVE MY PERMISSION
I don’t like the abuse
Being used
Just some poor excuse
Your pity thrown on me like some kind of cheap blanket or soiled towel
Then discarded and forgotten
I’m left feeling kind of rotten and alone like an orphan with out a home his parents disowned
This is how cancer feels
Like a horrible, no good very bad day that you don’t know how you’re ever gonna make it go away
So you sit and you pray, sit and you pray, sit and you pray
Hoping to God, he is hearing what you have to say
And he’ll take it all  away
So I can live to see another day
Wish upon another star
If you haven’t figured it out yet cancer *****
I do not like it
I hate it
Hate it with a passion
It does not have my permission to stay inside of my body, eat away at My organs, or tear down my soul
I will not give in to cancer
Cancer will not control
