Grateful forevermore
for the trees,
the roots which ground me
to the present moment
the sea,
which calls for me
when change is needed
the sky, which
blinds me on some days
shining so brightly, to remind me
to dream a little more
dream a little wilder
the stars, illuminating
my darkness and exploding into
a million small pieces, reminding me
of the beauty in chaos
I am thankful for it all,
I dance once more
around the revolving sun
and bless my mind
- for when it comes undone
i have these words
to write once more
and the dreary winter
has much in store
Samantha Cunha Nov 2018
The beauty is in the mess of it all
the purest moments
unravel
when ones treacherous walls
begin to fall

The source isn't angelic or heavenly
one can seem devilish or deadly
light emerges from the darkest of landscapes
one must find their faith
for the glowing ones
are dark glittering souls
Whom once fell down the depths
of a never-ending black hole

Looks deceive those blinded by the all encompassing white light
One must not be scared, one must let go of the fright

Appreciate the gloomy hours
dance in the heaviest of showers
inhale the scent emerging
from the rarest of flowers
For the beauty is in
the mess of it all

The fall time
Electrifies my mind
Crystal clear visions
Blue streams of water
Pour down gently ;
Quickly

The past worries
Lay heavy
In my head
As i lay in my
Silky sheeted
Bed
Memories
Of dread
Seem to slip further away

The dark times
Have turned into
Gold mines
Of inspiration

It flows in my veins
It trickles
in slowly
The dark abyss
Is now amiss
My flame of fire
burns higher & higher

Fall time
Rebirth
Hit me now
This time
It won’t hurt

I lost myself
at the
emerald sea
currents pulled
me into the
depths
&
the chaos
set me free

With pursed
lips
electric red
like cherries
in the summer
I expressed
my disdain
for the loud
echoing
voices
that truly
had nothing
to say

I warn the lost soul
On the desolate road-
For he musnt follow
The muse.

I speak ***** syllables
Of truth- for the muse
Wanders lost, seeks
Yet is never sought.

The muse is a femme fatale
An alluring temptress
Of the night

You Seek her  illusions
With unclear foresight

the rearview mirror lit
up your
eyes in tinges
stained red,
white, and
blue

the transient
town passed
our
weary , heavy
hearts

the map led us nowhere
in particular, and
we almost
crossed the threshold
there was a war
of the utmost extent
on the other side,
so we never did

the war within weighed
heavy upon us,
and our love
dispersed in
the night
the nights felt long,
like a passing car
on a highway
into the abyss
of nothingness

we parted ways and
drove down separate
freeways past
liquor stores,
and palm trees galore.

I met a man
as strange as could be
trudging along
the
illuminated street

He reminisced
for the days
he would
part the gold sea
when his eyes glistened
for a girl
whom looked like me

His words
quite eclectic
&  electric
Eloquent indeed

His eyes
Pure & Sweet

Others may proclaim
Danger ensues
But darling I knew
The esoteric man
Was no different
From me

Drifting into the dark abyss with weary thoughts and blocked visions

I dream of a past that ceases to exist, one without the wrenching heartache & disdain from impure energies crossing over an unwanted threshold

I never asked the demons to cross over to my side, yet our hidden fears can manifest into the open air

I take a deep breath as I dive head first into the cold, crisp water and swim into the unknown

The water is shockingly cold, and my mind is shockingly clear and filled with ease

What lies ahead isn’t nearly as frightening as that which I’m swimming far, far away from

Not all worlds
Are meant to be
Explored

Not all fires
To be lit

We will not be
Rewarded
For every
Road we drove

But instead that
Which we
Walked away from.

The void can only be filled
for so long, until it expands

through the madness, I travel to you
all which binds me,
turns my stone cold
words
azure blue,
through the fire,
love is reborn
through my desire,
I repent for my scorn
If I was never lost,
I would not have you
daydreaming
of how you
turn my mind from black
to dark shades of blue
through the wilderness,
I travel to you

his name
shadowed pain

an

storm is brewing

Toxicity burns
into daydreams
running wild
in sunflower
fields
with
nomadic fiends
a tribe of lone wolves
hearts of gold
seeking the road
less travelled
a clock ticks
for it's time
to be bold

distant city sounds
invigorate my racing mind
italian cars race
in the  noir night
white powder
stains
  clear warning sign
chained to this
toxic wasteland
for quite some time
he spoke
cruel worlds
with a twisted tongue
words cut deep
wounded & stung
I
Should have known
from the start
what shines too bright
will always dim
those who lie also sin
there was no chance for me
to win
in the toxic wasteland
with him

Egyptian blue
gold in the veins
revelations hidden
beneath the
tree trunk of
eternal truth

When light pours
through the ravaged
wound, it heals
all it's beauty
and essence
in divine timing

Time is an illusion
as it binds
the soul
to the earthly
plane

let's transcend

A transient
love affair
like a
passing cloud
in the air
intriguing
sight
I mustn't stare
for he is
on a train
headed
nowhere

Dreamt
of you
in
twisted visions
entangled tryst
kaleidoscope
dreary
trippin'
saving you
was
my only
mission
but a soul
so lost
shall not
be found
& you
got so high
you hit the
ground
when you hit me
hard
didn't make a sound
I dreamt of you
in twisted visions
tales of me
ya keep on spinning
Samantha Cunha Nov 2018
Lurking in my mind
are
disruptive thoughts
I may temporarily lose
but always find
these thoughts never
disperse fully
never diminish nor
dim down dully
reappearance of a lost train of thought
I held up the double edged sword
and fought
for
truths I was not ready to handle
blew out the
candle
smoke rose slowly
My god,
you are quite holy
darker thoughts
bring forward an inner truth
never entertain the uncouth

Down the road,
the river
escapes
me as it
no longer flowed

When it comes,
it comes
when it
goes, it goes
embrace
the universal flow

I bid it farewell
down the road
the river
no longer
flowed
when it comes,
it comes
when it goes,
it goes
that's just
the universal
flow

Unrequited love, my
oldest, longest, and dearest
of friends
We meet once again,
where the bend
curves, like the shape
of my body illuminated
by the moonlit shore,
you're grasping me tightly
oh, unrequited love
you sing me a twisted melody as I lull to sleep
you hide in the shadows ready to grasp me once more
unrequited love, please let me go!
unrequited love, no, never let me go
we meet again
at the tides in the erratic sea
and the waves wash over
you and me, washing
our sins into the morning rise
and once again, we bid goodbye
Samantha Cunha Apr 2019
blood trickles
down my leg
like dripping juice
from rotten peaches

Black & blue thighs
Heavy  sighs
I didn't make a sound
Silent in the sunrise

Salty tears
drip on a night stand
of gold
for dreams of decades
past
I did sold
He was tall, rough, and
bold
I loved him more
he loved me
less
I shiver with memories
& from
the cold

shape shifting
in the midst
of the crowded streets
I feel the energy around
I drink it up
like cherry lemonade
it's all within me
without me
above me
below me

Where the winding path
diverges, and splits into two
where the wounds and
scars open up in blinding
black and iridescent blue

this is the space
where light
comes through

the signs
will guide
you in the

for life is
nothing more

the dusk
comes
before the
dawn
in between is
beautiful
twilight majestic
heaven
in between the black
& white
is an elusive shade
of grey
don't you see
the importance
of balance
don't tip the scales

ever blooming
ever evolving
the sun is forevermore
the rain sparse
when heaven rains
down upon us
we shed our skin
like egyptian snakes
slithering in
the garden of evil
ever blooming

To  write
Each day until

My fingers bleed

To love you each
Hour until my
Body leaves

To sit here
In the cool morning breeze

To love you from afar

Cool and blue
Distant seas

This is all i long
To do,  to give
Myself

Is nothing new

I’ll write each day until
My fingers bleed
And ill sing every hour
To the brown fall leaves

I’ll love you here
Until my body leaves.

What is done in
the dark
will always
come to light
So shine on
& Shine bright
to illuminate
the dark
& disperse
fear and fright

moods
eradicate
my peaceful nature
shift so greatly
Like the moon
Waxing and Waning
Ever-changing
Never stable
I am not able
To keep up
pick me up
spin me around
Shortly after
I hit the ground
bruise my ego
bruise my Face
I can’t keep up with
Your moods

to quicken our demise
For love

Gentle daydreams
set on fire
by fiends
flames engulfed

set myself
loose
caused
harm
as I

poison

I miss
the musk

you wreaked

will take you there
when the destination

but the yearning
burning
for freedom
exists

while
facing
forward
it's all
so clear

fogged up

clearer

Let me be
your messy muse
I’ll light the
inspirational fire
then
let the fuse
burn bright
& fast
while
knowing
we shall not
last
Can't slow down
Driving quite fast

The joy
& the disdain
of being so young
The love
& the pain
Has yet to come

If it comes
let it
if it goes
bid it goodbye
if it flows
follow the current
if it slows
be careful
not to drown

that's a nice place to be
but the present
allows
you to see
the beauty around
the gold
to be found
the frown
on the stranger
you can help
turn around

I rest my head on the birds,
we fly into one another as we seek
the roads less travelled
and intend only to be free-
free from who we've been,
free from who we are
we fly into the ethers

His eyes wild
the nights electric
the humming of cars passing along
the streets void of light
ring into my ears
impenetrable, voltile noise
framing the silence between us
he has gone mad again,
there's poison on his tongue
there's white powder dripping
,dripping,
dripping from his elongated nose
he smiles wicked
his eyes wild
he's gone mad again,
I still drink him up like wine
and the glass shatters,
there's blood on the sheets

you
because

You're scared of
the dark, afraid
to dive deep

For in the depths,
you face your truth

So you stay in the light,
and you chose to stay blind
yet what you escape
you'll always
eventually find
