I Love You
Purely and Innocently
Just like the first day I saw
My handsome red head
Smiling my way.

I Love You
Wholly and Completely
Time and distance won't diminish
What was then is now
And forever will be

I Love You*
Your Spirit; Your Soul
We are connected through Lifetimes
Reincarnating
Until the day you're Mine.

This morning, between two branches of a tree
Beside the door, epeira once again
Has spun and signed his tapestry and trap.

I test his early-warning system and
It works, he scrambles forth in sable with
The yellow hieroglyph that no one knows
The meaning of. And I remember now
How yesterday at dusk the nighthawks came
Back as they do about this time each year,
Grey squadrons with the slashes white on wings
Cruising for bugs beneath the bellied cloud.

Now soon the monarchs will be drifting south,
And then the geese will go, and then one day
The little garden birds will not be here.

See how many leaves already have
Withered and turned; a few have fallen, too.

Change is continuous on the seamless web,
Yet moments come like this one, when you feel
Upon your heart a signal to attend
The definite announcement of an end
Where one thing ceases and another starts;
When like the spider waiting on the web

You know the intricate dependencies
Spreading in secret through the fabric vast
Of heaven and earth, sending their messages
Ciphered in chemistry to all the kinds,
The whisper down the bloodstream: it is time.
Howard Nemerov
1920–1991

Howard Nemerov was a highly acclaimed poet often cited for the range of his capabilities and subject matter, "from the profound to the poignant to the comic," James Billington remarked in his frequently quoted announcement of Nemerov's appointment to the post of United States poet laureate.
A distinguished professor at Washington University in St. Louis from 1969 to 1990, Nemerov wrote poetry and fiction that managed to engage the reader's mind without becoming academic, many reviewers reported. Though his works showed a consistent emphasis on thought—the process of thinking and ideas themselves—his poems related a broad spectrum of emotion and a variety of concerns.

As Joyce Carol Oates remarked in the New Republic, "Romantic, realist, comedian, satirist, relentless and indefatigable brooder upon the most ancient mysteries—Nemerov is not to be classified."
Writing in the study Howard Nemerov, Peter Meinke stated that these contrasting qualities are due to Nemerov's "deeply divided personality."
Once born it's never on thy lips
Upon thy brow a mothers kiss

Then others all will follow suit
Bestowing light and love to you

Instinct overrides them all
As lips to your brow they are called

Yet as you grow it seems to stop
Kisses to your cheek do flock

Then when love and lust appear
Kisses to the lips doth flow

Once again a child is born
Now you are drawn to their sweet brow

Yet years pass and twilight falls
You start to shed this mortal coil

Once again they come to kiss
On your brow,  not your lips

A cycle now almost complete
Ancestors call, it's time to leave

A kiss opon a wrinkled brow
Third eye closed, time to go
Something that needed finishing
Sat upon the wall.
Watching.
Waiting.
Almost time
Almost there
Starlings on a friends wall awaiting food
Dad!!!
Where can I  buy a fridge freezer, I'm hearing things that can't be real.
Dads head now spinning, can't fathom why so asks the question why oh why?
Why  because your mum has two and when I left one was new.
No it's not for me its for my friend, because her daddy upt and left
The first time in months she touched my heart because she showed she cared allot
So daddy asked what's it all about and his heart sank at how she cared for a friend she hardly knew as yet
Her mum works hard all the time and can't afford to get one now
She works all day on the farm and I want to get her one ok?
So what does a dad say to that when he finally sees behind his daughters mask
She has a heart and god its big,  so I guess I need to find a fridge!
So asked about and favours called to find a fridge for Dherrans  mum!
Off to Woolton and back again, we have one and I'm feeling great.
Four weeks later I still have one and no contact with Dherrans mum!!
Calls and texts and no reply! Oh how I've tried
So Emily tonights the night I'll leave it in your friends drive.
So off I popped and knock knock knock and eyes like saucers looking back!
I'm now sure I've got it wrong the house the number the whole shabbang
Who's this bloke and *** I'm in me onsie oh my god!
Introductions and no idea who or why he is here!
I'm Emilys dad well that fell flat, but dont I know you anyhow?
After deduction better than Sherlock Holmes he showed his badge it all came clear thank **** for that the fridge is here!!!
Fridge inside and cups of tea and laughter filled the air with glee
Talk of art and Shakespeare to a pleasant change from a Thursdays gloom
Then time to go and say goodnight, I rather liked the onsie sight!!!
So there's the tale and simple enough..
Don't underestimate a childs love

For Katherine.
Could make a corpse giggle!!
He lay, curtains closed the sound of traffic growing louder the day begining. Began for what? The night left him so tired confused and as always alone. The sounds therapeutic in a way, yet none the less irritating. Maginalised, such a good word he thought, playing the days back on the third eye screen. Always black and white. Each time replayed in more detail but less clarity of why. Eyes open the curtains have two shades, the sun begining to light the room. Tupence less the wiser and no longer a penny left.... for thoughts of anything.
The lizard approached
the beautiful tree..
made his play
you might say.
Started to climb
with such glee
intentioned to stay
all the day.
He then went limp
down he fell.
What had happened
no one could tell.
He was checked out
when he lost his function.
Found to have
a dreaded problem..
    ... called...
Reptile Dysfunction.

The Lizard might have
stopped to See Alice
before the charge or his friend
Viguana.

Watching too much TV
I need help!!!
Fight for your life
Tear down your walls
Walk all over your problems
As every crumbling brick falls
Contending every insecurity
The endless battle mauls
Each day it continues
The same tiring brawls
Battered and beaten
Everyone covered in sores
Hurt and defeated
Dropping down on all fours
Laying motionless; defeated
While your insecurities still crawls
