Her skin is pale
A wash of gentle light
Her hair silver
Glittering with starlight
The girl born of moon and star

Her eyes piercing blue
As the blanket of sky
Her face upturned
All the relaxed beauty of night
The girl shimmering with light and dust

The moonlight drapes over her
Clothing her in shimmering silver light
She dances with glittering grace
As the the dust of stars trails behind
The moonlight girl born for night

When god created this creature
He used his most precious gifts
Glittering stars, shimmering moonlight
And all the dreams of a sleeping world
Bring forth the daughter of night

Nyx herself would envy this girl
God saw the hearts of men break
Just her sight shattered them
Sympathy moved the mighty God
The silvery girl of the stars

God talked to his daughter of night
She agreed to leave this world
Some nights tinkling laughter echoes
From the distant world in the sky
The world of Moonlight Girl.

*It sat out in an open field
It was the strangest thing
An orb the size of who knows what
A giant ball of string

We laughed as we walked hand in hand
Our eyes were mystified
She tried to reach around the ball
Me on the other side

Neither of our hands could touch
Still inches far apart
I chuckled just a little bit
Her laughter it did start

When then I saw her look around
She wore a sneaky grin
Reached into her pocket deep
Then glanced around again

Her hand it held a pocket knife
A shining piece of steel
She then cut off a piece of string
And quickly did conceal

We ran away so very fast
Till it was far behind
Then stopped so I could figure out
What she had on her mind

Reaching out she took my hand
Pulled out the piece of string
Then tied it round my finger tight
A smile it did bring

I asked her tell me what it meant
She answered me so true
I tied it so you won’t forget
That I’m in love with you

I remember a time long ago
When each person carried emotional baggage in tow
We held friend and family member equally dear
Kissed every cheek and wiped away every tear
Now we lie cruel and rotting under the sun
Devoid of any sparks or pangs of fun
We’ve forgotten our righteous ways
Seek therapy from bad decisions and ashtrays
All sense of the common good is delivered through slow reactions
Overshadowed by emerald greed and ***-soaked distractions
I’ve tried to convince my children of the change
They just look at me as an old dog ripe with mange
To all my loved ones who have died
I can at least mutter "I tried"
I suppose it’s about time to scrape hope up and wash it down the drain
Sit out on my porch, feet propped up, watching society fall like rain

I have to go
To fight a war
I have to go
But I'll return

There is a sorrow creeping on a lonely soul
Sitting a raven on a statue of Aphrodite
Buzzards and doves
Buzzards and doves

I have to go
A call to arms
I have to go
But I'll return
When all the battles are won

There is a grey cloud with a terrible face
Menacing eyes and scowling jawls
A feeding vulture
A bird of paradise

Buzzards and doves
Buzzards and doves

I have to go
But never leave
I have to go
But you are with me
In all the battles won
In the peace of a soldier marching home
I have to go
But I'll return

Buzzards and doves
Buzzards and doves
And me a crow
Fighting for a soul

Just Me R
Cold seeped through my skin
I shiverered to the bone
Violently shaking
I was so so cold

I wrapped myself in the blanket
I still smell your cologne
It held me like you did
But now you were gone

From room to room I look
Pining for your touch
Emptyness grasps its hook
This pain is too much

i just saw you fall out of love with me
there.. i saw it
in your eyes
just now
one minute you were talking
and you breathed in
and then you breathed me out
you breathed me out
you blinked
and when your eyes opened
i saw that little spark that kept me so warm
had died
it was gone
and you laughed still
pretending you didn't feel it too
but i know you felt it
that silent hurricane
you laughed
but there was no song
i heard nothing
where there was once a symphony
lay just sheets of music
and in that very moment
the record crackled to a finish
you carefully lifted the needle
and our song was over

It is very hard
to be able to write well,
this work in so few........
I know its not a true form haiku, but that is the point - I wrote it as a bit of fun - I hope you take it in the same way it was written!
