get to know yourself more
how much your worth
so that you know
what you deserve

figure out what exactly
you want in life

no hurry
absorb as much as you can
from the process

choose to be happy
for your soul
will be set free
oh honey, you were born to be loved. don't settle for less :)
He gave me a seed
He said: “Plant it in your earth and let it be
Let me feed it of your love
Let me quench it with your gently flowing tears
Let me grow it for us both, full of life and full of fears
Let me watch you watch it grow, every branch and every leaf
Till you and it melt into one…single root and single seed
And then… watch me burn it to the ground, every stem and every leaf
Till you and I become but none, you fade to smoke and I just leave…”

America

So America this is the choice you have made,
It's time about time you show the world who you really are,
Instead of making the news for being immature in your riots,
Make the world see the true face of the United States of America,
The one that got its independence on its own,
The ones who would help other peoples problems first before their own,
The ones who end the fights,
Not start them...

So grow up people,
You are the people of the United States of America,
It's time that you accept your decisions,
Rather than kicking and screaming uselessly,
Be proud of what ever,
Be responsible,
Be mature,
Be the America that the rest of the world respects,
Be the pride that the world bows down too,
Be the American dream,
If you don't like someone,
You don't try to kick and scream hoping they will go away,
You talk it over,
Accept your choices,
..... none needed

WE ARE

A city that radiates happiness,
A people of class and heritage
A Nation that has seen its station
A World of black and white.

WE ARE

A fire burning amidst the waters
A river flowing through
Children of the ancient ones
A world of black and white.

WE ARE

A people that prefers hate to love
A revengeful and boastful heart
A people that read more, yet less sense
A world of black and white.

WE ARE

The trueness of hate itself
The scandal of ignorance
The product of callousness
A world of black and white

WE CAN

Be love or bliss defined
Be the city upon the hill
Be the fighters on bended knees
We can be Great again

Only if we shun hate and accept love

Only if we shun hate and accept love
We attempt rescue, unable to bear
the stardust-coated dragonfly
beat, beat, beating
frantic on the glass.

We entice him to perch
on our extended lifeline-broom
nurse him in a box, where he flutters
quivers, lies quietly blue.

My son cries bitterly
as we place a minute cross
upon the dragonfly grave
while intoning our final goodbyes:

We honor those who have fallen victim
to this fatal architectural trap, lured
by skylights of enticing white-light death
and the paned illusion of freedom.

In admiration of winged determination
and perseverance in the face of futility
we carefully tend the fragile, curved bodies
lay them here to rest under the mock orange.

years of gauze-weighted detritus
swept beneath these ponderous shrubs
a reminder - what seems like freedom
                                                                    often isn’t.
We lived in a house that had outdoor skylights.  Insects would be lured by the light and die trying to fly through the glass that imprisoned them.
I hated those skylights...

Hey lovely poets!  Thank you so much for being a supportive, amazing group of people.  I'm truly honored that you take the time to read my poems.  The Daily is just icing on an already sweet cake.
