I love Love's Flame. I don't understand
where the fierce heat of her beginning
goes over time. I do my best to love
in Love's ashes. I dig for our lust.
I find spent love and empty hearts
yearning for another forest fire.

I accidentally wandered inside your heart.
I didn't mean for you to watch me die.
This burden would rob the blind
and leave the weak for dead.

Our bed's become a battle field,
a no man's land between us.
    We finally reached an armistice,
but all wars leave their wounded.

Time has slowed to a crawl waiting
for test results and next moves.
Will we ever know normal again?
The clock's always midnight and noon.

The Lonely Man’s grave
at the bottom of the hill,
“pushing up Daisies.”

Last of its remains, hung
The yellow leaf
precariously strung on the the tender yellowed stem
As the yellow copper pod flowers
Came down along with the rains
On the vibrant green leaves
And fell on the pavement clean

I have reached a new level of loneliness
Where the alabaster sky resides in my soul
I dream of nothing but uncovering
These places of hidden sorrow
As grief comes to your bed like fallen snow
You ready yourself for dissolving
