She keeps songs
locked away in boxes
like secrets.
She will take them out
like postcards
to help her remember
the feeling of
a different time,
a different person
by her side.
She likes the one
that makes her
eyes close
to see the lights.
She smiles at
the one that
makes her stand
up on tiptoes,
the one that
helps her forget
she doesn’t know
what to do
with her hands.

The tune
will carry her.

Like it did
the times when
voices broke
like a heart.
When instruments’ strings
would snap
and hurt.

Somewhere there has to be
a window left ajar
an unlocked door
a spaceship bound for Mars

beyond these crystallized values
these ceilings of sophistication
beyond these solid grounds
of miss interpretations

I can not fit in
these ranks reject my views
no one wants to know
the reality I can prove
no…
not within this human zoo
……..

What a friend we have in time
all the gifts to be foretold
I have seen the Northern star
from an alleyway
and chased the phrases lined from your lips
and ushered each syllable
We can make a reason for laughter
but if you go, alias
like a dried leaf
floating neigh  on the riverbed
I have only one wish
like a falling teardrop
to wake at nine
coffee in bed with you

Everyday that dawns,
you slip away a little more.
The distant stare,
the apathetic eyes.
Your love is as dead
as the roses in
the trash.
Your heart is an
abyss that I'm
lost in forever.
Belladonna drew me in.
The poison kept me there.
