We may have lost the fight today
but we still have the war
Number three is well on its way
Isn't it deplorable

Mama told me i can do everything
If my mind were true and sure
But pushed and pawed in the wrong way
Now i know its truth

"Oooh woe is me" they mock scream
When I just try to live
Stuck in fight or flight all day
Ate my smile away

Burnout on the cusp of vision
It makes it hard to dream
I just want to smile again
And feel that lightness encompass me

Off my chest of symphonies
A heat blazes with need
To feel whole
To feel seen
To feel peace in this place i call home

The horns sound alarm
Brazen red and shining off
Of new steal bars
Bars that aim their sights at me
My friends
My family

"Why?" We scream
In the void
Cuz no ones listening
Why listen when you think you've won
Just beat down the voice
Why listen when you think you've won
But round three is about to start

We refuse to help you scheme
We refuse to help your need
Go ******* try for my own
And you will learn that truth.
Feeling the defeat echo through this life with my own line on the edge of a cliff, but i refuse to let it slide.

The icy mist envelopes the leaves
As they fall fall fall
Into the lap of an awaiting figure
A ghost to the world

The silence fills the words yet spoken
The frost bites the cords
“Yell!” It thinks
But silence is a void
Yet to unfold

The icy mist consumes itself
And everything inside
A hidden spot free from time,
Betrayal and joys in kind

Here in silence it can finally think
Reason with itself
Remember the pain, past and future goals
To embrace the bright future

Reaching out to grab the leaf
A ray hits the edge
Thaw thaw slowly back
Into itself

Close the eyes
To realize
The brightness of the world
Its joy, sorrow, mischief and more
Wrapped up in a little bow

“Topple over their conditions
And ****** upon the goals!”
It thinks
Defiance lighting its eyes
“If they can do it so can I”
It voices and it slinks into its light

— The End —
