I have stared
Far too long
At this blank page.
I've come to the hard realization,
Like a refugee raft,
This poem won't write herself.

How time
Eats away at our words
Like kernels of discontent
Tossed about
And taken by caustic birds
On the qui vive
Feeding off our book
Of broken pieces

I'm burning inside

Feeling a fire so intense

Yet my heart so cold

The shadows whisper in silence,
as the howling winds echo
through the once lived rooms.
The winds strip off the warmth
away from my skin, as I sleep
while my pockets are empty
from the deep regrets.
My ropes of longing, now
frayed at the ends,
yearns to see the life again.
Unspoken words of mine
amplify the silence of the room.
The closet in the darkness,
now encapsulates the memories,
of the once lived pictures of warmth.
The room that once lived, now
live to see the ominous silences.

The grass's turning green,
amidst this splendid dream.
As I relish in this free paradise,
before it turns into a franchise.
I fill my lungs with the air
that's soulfully enriched, before it turns rare.

The leaves are fragile,

at the slightest they come off --

caution! breathe softly!
