LIKE A MOTH
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
Like a moth
blinded by such froth
wished to touch the flame.
Wrapped with swath
Burnt wings dropped the cloth
Time to take the blame...
A response poem to "Jack and Jill" of Ae.
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
Bakit ang umaga'y salaming nagniningning
At ang aking gabi'y sineng walang tabing?
Bakit ang magdamag ay tila araw mandin
Na kung di masilip ay tila kulang pa rin?

Sa oras na laging kita'y maalala
Balintataw manding anyo mo'y makita;
Ngiti ng puso ko'y anghel ang kapara
Dala ng pagsuyong ikaw ang may likha.

Di man naglalayag ang anyo kong lugod
Naglalakbay naman sa aking pagtulog;
Diwa at puso ko'y nawalan ng takot
Laging ako't ikaw yaong nasasangkot.

Saang mundo kayang di ka mamamasdan?
Wala nga sapagkat tanging ikaw lamang;
Takbo ng panaho'y di namamalayan
Basta't laging ikaw itong kaulayaw.

Daigdig mang ito'y tuksong kumakaway
Kung tayong dalawa'y landas na makulay;
Musika ng puso ay aalingawngaw
Mundo'y paraisong doo'y laging ikaw!

English Version:

You Will Always Be There

Oh, why each morning is like a bright looking glass
And my night's like a theater without a curtain?
Tell me why an overnight seems like a new day
That when I can't see you, life seems so uncertain?

Each moment that I cannot see you, my dearest
Even your shadow is always enough for me
My heart always smile like that of an angel's beam
Brought by this precious love only I could see.

Though I couldn't reach you with these frail arms and hands
I can still touch you, my dear, in my cherished dreams
My mind and my heart, they were strong, I'm not afraid
Only you and I, we can get through the extremes.

In what kind of world does this heart couldn't see you
If there's only one image in these eyes of mine?
Our time is running fast and yet we cannot feel
When you're here beside me, I will always be fine.

If this world of ours is a waving temptation
It would still be a bright path when we truly care
Rhythm of our hearts will echo and resonate
A place is paradise where you'll always be there!

THE DANCE
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
Hon, I always wanted to dance with you
But you just  let me dance with my shadow

Every step I make, I feel you are there
Though even a little bit you do not care

Alas! I felt those warm hands holding mine
While my eyes are closed, I can feel the twine

Just to be surprised it is not you, dear
You are there watching, cannot hide your sneer

Hon, I always wanted to dance with you
But you just  let me dance with my shadow.

waiting
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
She sat there alone
Under his table
Like a puppy waiting
For a piece of bone

She always ask herself-
   Should  she stop waiting
       Or should she continue believing?

Now she's here sitting
From a distance,  waiting
That he will take a look
At the small souvenir she left
Under his table
Before she walk away...
There's something under his table...

How far would I go to love you?
How many times would I dive in River Bayou.
Loving you this way seems isn't enough
I longed for you to give me a chance, ohh...

Would my love be enough for you?
Or you'll disregard me for what I have at hand?
Would you leave me in shades of black or blue.
My love is bare because I care, my love

Refrain:
Would you give me a little bit of love in advance?
Would you give me a chance to see you stay.
So much as I breathe your essence like air
I was so tired even though I tried my very best
Sometimes I feel like giving-up,
But resigning wouldn't do anything to stop
This heart that beats only for you somehow ask
How far would I go to love you?

I know I don't have everything
For I survive with just some little things,
Enough for me to live this kind of life
And even my choices are full of strife

LET ME LIVE
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
Just let me love you, please let me live
Care not if there's something to receive
Oh, let me love you from where I stand
I dream to walk with you hand-in-hand.

Can you let me love you through your words?
For they create my musical chords
Can you let me hear your precious voice?
With it's symphony I could rejoice.

My dear, let me love you through your aims
Your main principles that set the flames
I love your thoughts like a precious gold
With such greatest story ever told.

Let me love you until forever
Don't break this off, oh please don't sever
Care not if there's something to receive
Let me love you, oh please let me live.

ONCE MORE
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
Once in my life I have shown my face
Then regretted afterwards.
I trusted.
I failed.
And promised I won’t be the same.

Once in my life I have worn my veil
That covers my facade
I pretended
I hid
And I became contented being a shadow.

Once in my life I lost my strength
And learned how to become weak.
But I heard my inner voice
I saw myself in the mirror
And I was awakened.

Once again, I am going to show my face
I want to try
I want to believe
That I’ll be in peace without my veil
Once more...
Unveiling myself...

And If
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
And if we meet shall we renew
Our love that’s sweet like morning dew

And if we meet with love so pure
I’ll never go, my love, for sure

Two hearts aflame with deeper love
A love so pure, as white as dove

And if true love should find us here
Hold me so close, don’t leave me, dear.

For we could dance with hearts entwined
We sing our song as love’s our bind.

And if these things won’t be the same
Just like that of a precious dream

And if my love our time is through
I’ll set you free, I’ll let you go.

THE BIND
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
Wearing the gown you have chosen for me
I walked through the aisle with this pink bouquet
A smile painted in me with sparks of  love
Now I'm going to forget yesterday

You welcomed me with your arms open wide
You held my hand and let me wear the ring
We gave our vow then the kiss, as a seal
We heard our heartbeats like the songs we sing

The people's joy and the greetings they gave
As endless as the love that you recite
We entered our room to complete our bind
To wait for another dream for a night.

I LOVE THE WAY YOU LOVE ME
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
I love the way you love me
I love the way you kiss
I love the way you whisper
And that I truly miss

I love all things about you
Even the flaws you have
For when I love somebody
All I can feel is love

I love to think about you
I know that you are mine
I want to hug and kiss you
This love's truly divine

I love you till tomorrow
For always I will care
I'll keep your name in my heart
Forever love I swear!

another lifetime
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
In my dreams I saw you in another lifetime
Only you and I in another lifetime

In this chaotic world where pain is my blanket
I would just sleep and dream of another lifetime

I have loved you through times that roads are very rough
And keep our picture for another lifetime

If we were not given the chance to love and care
Maybe it would be real in another lifetime

So I will stay with hope that soon it will come true
You and I together in another lifetime.

OUR TIME
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
And so I looked at the sands of time
I saw every bit of sand falling down

Every bit that fell was my every tear
Each moment in time that you’re not here

Our time was short and I can’t resist
To plea and beg, let me feel the bliss

I hoped for the nights that I closed my eyes
Because in my dreams I can see you smile

I wear my mask within each day
Showing my smile though you’re gone away

Oh, our time, this time isn’t ours for real
Wishing forever will I stand still?

MY PRECIOUS MAN
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
Among the thousand faces in this place
I  hear his voice like thunder in the skies
I see his light, my dear , I am amaze
But I am not afraid  to show my cries
I bare the real me before his eyes
He never thinks each word as lie or pun
And yes, I admire him, he is so nice
Forever in my heart, my precious man.

I never think it’s true between each race
We’ll be fond of our traits, those aren’t lies
I am so fond of him just like a craze
Obsessed of thoughts that angel really flies
To spread his wings for me, see how he tries
He’s like the rain to me, and even sun
And yes, he is a gem among us, guys
Forever in my heart, my precious man.

My love for him is soft just like a lace
He is so kind, so cool, he is so wise
For his heart is like gold I want to praise
He is so far from those pretending guys
He’s real and never tries to speak with lies
He never leaves and runs away or shun
And yes, he is that gem I’ll see him rise
Forever in my heart, my precious man.

He is an angel, dear, I’ll tell it twice
He makes me smile and laugh and have some fun
And yes, being with him is like a prize
Forever in my heart, my precious man.

Ballade is a verse form typically consists of three eight-line stanzas, each with a consistent meter and a particular rhyme scheme. The last line in the stanza is a refrain. The stanzas are often followed by a four-line concluding stanza (an envoi) usually addressed to a prince. The rhyme scheme is therefore usually 'ababbcbC ababbcbC ababbcbC bcbC', where the capital 'C' is a refrain.

PLIANT (Kyrielle)
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
I stand with pride, I know it all
Though you can see, I bow, I fall
Whenever wind whispers my name
I bend my knees but stay the same

Whatever life would offer me
I will accept but I'm still free
I know how odd, it's like a game
I bend my knees but stay the same

The joy life brings would make me smile
Though sadness gazes for a while
When there's a will, just keep the flame
I bend my knees but stay the same

When sorrow's there to walk with me
Eyes are open to let me see
I'll still walk through yet like a lame
I bend my knees but stay the same

When sunbeam's there to scorch my skin
I wouldn't runaway or shin
I'll walk with pride but not with fame
I bend my knees but stay the same

When rain is there to stay with me
I'll never cry for I can see
It comes to heal, care for my name
I bend my knees but stay the same

That's how I live, how strong I am
Though storms may pass, though troubles come
I am still me, I'm on my frame
I bend my knees but stay the same.
Kyrielle
A Kyrielle is a French form of rhyming poetry written in quatrains (a stanza consisting of 4 lines), and each quatrain contains a repeating line or phrase as a refrain (usually appearing as the last line of each stanza). Each line within the poem consists of only eight syllables. There is no limit to the amount of stanzas a Kyrielle may have, but three is considered the accepted minimum.

Some popular rhyming schemes for a Kyrielle are: aabB, ccbB, ddbB, with B being the repeated line, or abaB, cbcB, dbdB.

Mixing up the rhyme scheme is possible for an unusual pattern of: axaZ, bxbZ, cxcZ, dxdZ, etc. with Z being the repeated line.

The rhyme pattern is completely up to the poet.

My love, let us dance in the rain
Let it wash our tears away
Heal our wounds and clean our stain
Make us feel better today

Let it wash our tears away
Let it help us forget our sorrow
Make us feel better today
Forget yesterday and think of tomorrow

Let it help us forget our sorrow
Every storm will surely end
Forget yesterday and think of tomorrow
Feel the raindrops that really mend

Every storm will surely end
The pain, the hurt, we’ll soon forget
Feel the raindrops that really mend
Just remember the goals we set

The pain, the hurt, we’ll soon forget
Heal our wounds and clean our stain
Just remember the goals we set
My love, let us dance in the rain.
Pantoum

The pantoum consists of a series of quatrains rhyming ABAB in which the second and fourth lines of a quatrain recur as the first and third lines in the succeeding quatrain; each quatrain introduces a new second rhyme as BCBC, CDCD. The first line of the series recurs as the last line of the closing quatrain, and third line of the poem recurs as the second line of the closing quatrain, rhyming ZAZA.

The design is simple:

Line 1
Line 2
Line 3
Line 4

Line 5 (repeat of line 2)
Line 6
Line 7 (repeat of line 4)
Line 8

Continue with as many stanzas as you wish, but the ending stanzathen repeats the second and fourth lines of the previous stanza (as its first and third lines), and also repeats the third line of the first stanza, as its second line, and the first line of the first stanza as its fourth. So the first line of the poem is also the last.

Last stanza:

Line 2 of previous stanza
Line 3 of first stanza
Line 4 of previous stanza
Line 1 of first stanza

INSECURITY (Ghazal)
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
Oh, woman, dear, don’t be so insecure;
You’re only hurting yourself when you are insecure.

Look  at the mirror and see how beautiful you are,
You don’t need to feel bad and to be insecure.

When you see others smile and happy in their lives,
Can’t you just smile for them and not feel insecure?

When someone deserves a prize, an award for his deed,
Would you aim to claim it because you’re insecure?

When someone stands now in a place where you dream,
Would you pull him down there when you feel insure?

When someone’s being praised for an excellent work,
Would you make some sour grapes- deeds of an insecure?

Yes, you are stealing a moment of your own joy,
Every moment that you’re jealous and you feel insecure.
Ghazal

A Ghazal is a poem that is made up like an odd numbered chain of couplets, where each couplet is an independent poem. It should be natural to put a comma at the end of the first line. The Ghazal has a refrain of one to three words that repeat, and an inline rhyme that preceedes the refrain. Lines 1 and 2, then every second line, has this refrain and inline rhyme, and the last couplet should refer to the authors pen-name... The rhyming scheme is AA bA cA dA eA etc.

LOVE ME AGAIN (Rondeau)
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
Love me again, I'll give my everything
Give me your heart, I’ll take the love you bring
We’ll set the world where we don’t see the past
We’ll sail the sea with our love’s stronger mast--
We’ll feel the breeze like songs of love we sing.

So love me, dear and let our heartstrings cling
Through all our Winters, Summers on through Spring
So take my hand, you’re mine again at last!
       Love me again...

We’ll be as two doves flying wing to wing
To our celestial throne as queen and king
Where soft angelic clouds may off-broadcast
A love's that's deeper than the stars are vast
As vibrant harp strings mimic each heartstring
       Love me again…
Rondeau

A Rondeau is a French form, 15 lines long, consisting of three stanzas: a quintet, a quatrain, and a sestet with a rhyme scheme as follows: aabba aabR aabbaR. Lines 9 and 15 are short - a refrain (R) consisting of a phrase taken from line one. The other lines are longer (but all of the same metrical length).

PREDATORS (Epigram)
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
Thick skin, big body and sharp teeth, they slay
These greedy animals hunt for their prey

Their goal is to get all what they want
In the darkness of the night they usually hunt

Crocodiles and snakes, they attack like storms
How big are those reptiles as compared to the worms?

Now modern predators are in tuxedo’s and suits
With shiny eyeglasses or well-polished boots

These greedy creatures scattered in this world
They always make the biggest stories ever told…
Epigram

Epigrams are satirical poems ending with either a humorous retort or a stinging punch line.

Used mainly as expressions of social criticism or political satire, the most common forms are written as a couplet: a pair of rhymed lines in the same meter.

Practitioners of this poetic expression include John Dunne, Ben Jonson, William Blake and Robert Frost.

THE OBSERVER (Quatern)
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
She always look outside her door
Or stay beside her window pane
She wants to know and see much more
Her neighbor’s deeds and what they gain

She has to meet the rich and poor
She always look outside her door
But that motive of yesterday
Gone with the wind, t’was blown away

She’s now but an observant one
Who always judge and sneers at man
She always look outside her door
Seems she forgot what is life  for

This poor woman, she never know
That now she looks like a scarecrow
Her feet stands flat on the floor
She always look outside her door.

My love, the day you came into my life
Was when I hate to feel the rain so much
Each drop to me was like a sharpened knife
That made deep cuts and wounds I couldn’t touch
But there you came along to mend the strife
When I was falling down you’re there to catch
You guided me and helped me ease the pain
My dear, you taught me how to love the rain.

WHAT IS RIGHT (Ghazal)
Dhaye Margaux May 2014
Oh, man you are so wise, you’re always right;
You always speak the truth and what is right.

You taught me your culture, I have to blend,
I’m scared but tried to live for what is right.

You sang the oldest songs I hate to hear,
My ears are wanting bad for what is right.

You pulled me and asked me to dance with you,
You knew that music’s off, it is not right.

You held me close to you, I have no chance,
To see, to hear, to speak for what is right…
