Friends may come and go.
I'm a constant In your life.
I'm the moon and tides.
I sat in His wooden pews.
I knelt on His Jesus cross.
Reading the Holy news
mourning religion's loss.
Playing hard to get.
It gets harder through the years.
No one has the time.

Zahra
I used to be
a difficult kid
when it came
to eating.
I didn’t
raid fridges
in quest
of food.
To ensure
my good
health,
my mother
fed me
spoonfuls
of bone pulp
on bunk beds.
She’d scoop
it out,
blowing air
to cool its fire,
then press it
into my
mouth
with the
quiet panic
only a mother
knows
fearful I’d turn
my head,
or spit
what she
believed
might
save me.
She observed the eagles gliding gracefully in flawless circles around her.
Up here on the mountaintop, the wind was her companion.
It murmured gently to her, "breathe deeply, it's time to live again."

Ashrow
You wanted the sun.
I gave you the moon-
but only the stars could shine
even as we burned to ash
I enchanted the auroras
with my effervescent glow
it’s not like you to sway
when everything is well
you search for the darkness
which tears you apart
My granddaughter and me
the best artists to ever be!
We make, we write, we draw wild things,
So strange and bold, with scribbled wings.
We paint the sun with purple glue,
And give the moon a mohawk too.
We turn the clouds into mashed potatoes,
And make giraffes wear sweet pink halos.
You might look once and raise your brow,
“Is that a dragon... or a cow?”
But we just laugh and say with glee:
“You don’t see it? That’s on you, not me!”
We’re the best and no need to boast
Of silliness, we make the most.
So when you see our crazy art,
Know it's made with love and heart.
I am ready to enter the next stage in my life, where fighting means letting go and allowing things to flow, and life isn't just about survival.
Where change doesn't signify failure, and life opens to me, and I receive it, without fear.
I'm uncertain where this destination will lead me, one thing is for sure, it won't be here...
